  1. arash, You can buy them directly from here: utranco@sbcglobal.net I think Mark is the one that you need to talk to or you can contact Al at ALK Engineering as he is the one that designed the 3619
  2. I am pretty sure that I am the first one to spin the above in forty or so years, as the smell when opening the box was astounding.......I can not describe the sound, as it is as good as it gets...! W. C,
  3. Dave, Only you would believe this....I am sitting here listening to bach as I type.....Three months ago, there was an EV speaker that I bought and this guy also had a couple of hundred tapes that he wanted to move. We negotiated dawn to about fifty cents apiece. Claude delivered everything a couple of weeks ago and i finally got to open the boxes today. Well, I am as excited as a Flea on a St. benard...The below picture is what I am listerning to and there are about a hundred more of these:
  4. Bruce, Thanks....I'm really sorry but I figured you wouyld catch it...! I can at least say that I am not the only one that puts stuff off.....or forgets completely.....[] Now if I could only hear some of the great Organ music....see this thread really serves a purpose.....PUBLIC EXPOSURE....!
  5. Thanks and I really appreciate it. Yes the times are totally different, as when I was in, MOST opposed us being in Southeast Asia.....We all get the THANKS now but for some reason it is just not the same.......yes way too late. Anyway, enough on that and Back to the regular Programming......[]
  6. This is the machine that I am currently on: Intel Cor Duo T2700 CPU 2.33 gHz (2 CPU's) 4 gHz of RAM I built two of these things and I love them. They have the Aopen mini boards I954Gtm-VHL Dual Core processor. I have AutoCAD 2002, AutoCAD 2012 and Autodesk Inventor. Just ran a test on loading times to draw screen 2002 - 7 seconds 2012 - 12 Inventor - 9 That totally surprised me as I have never actually timed them. Just for giggles I did Word and it was instantaneous.....maybe one second....On the Quad Core they are all immediate
  7. Dandy, Lord thanks for the explinatuion.....you sure didn't have to get that detailed. You are right, Danley is/are GREAT people to deal with as they are totally customer oriented.and go the extra few steps to work with you. I have had nothing but great experiences with them..... Good Luck, stay safe and hurry home, We all appeciate your Service, wish the feelings were the same when I came home, many years ago. I was called everything you could imagine, but Heroric.......Thank You's were substituted with anger, for serving
  8. Thanks Bruce.....! (WACI?) You guys are going to cause me to dig out my old box of STUFF.....Which is in here somewhere.......! I have NO doubt there were some type of RAM devices for special applications....they were not mainstream in 89...and I do not profess to know everything about everything.....! I still have my original Comodore 54 and Zenith stuff here somewhere........[] Hopefully thios will be an informative and fun thread.....and Wiki is not the sole source for accurate information...Just saying..
  9. Dandy, Just curious as to how you did the above. Danley is not selling the kits any longer.......
  10. I sent them an email requesting a source for the wire., we will see what happens There was no information on the web for that stock number or even the name Excalibur Wire. It may not be available anymore. Thanks for the link, W. C.
  11. This is the FIRST time that I have ever quoted myself.....START a NEW thread if you want to discuss the History of Comnputers and discuss AutoCAD and Autodesk.......we can NOT comntinue to Hijack this thread........BTW....ENJOY the DATE.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!![] and Good Luck......[6] W. C.
  12. You got a Link for that as I am not finding IT in the search engine.....I am SURE that I am missing something...! W. C.
  13. Don, BTW....There was NO such thing as RamDrive in 89 along with 64 megs of ram that was available to put on the MB...I am pretty sure that you are confusing Loading with continusly running in the Background. Just saying...YOU need to really check up on your dates.........[] W. C.
  14. Don, I love how you produce all of the Caviats after slamming me...........anyway, if you or anyone else wants to challenge me about AutoCAD or the progression of computers from their Infancy, PLEASE start another thread...as ALL of us have done enough Hijacking of this one...I will participate in ANY thread about computers and expicially about the hiarichy of AutoCAD and Autodesk......This could be FUN......! We ALL have knowledge, it is just a bit tough to put dates with the technology as it changes sooooooo fast....! No harm...NO foul....!
  15. Never seen a bad sheet of Baltic but I order it in 20 sheet bundles of 5' x 5' - 19mm. Have NO idea what is available at Lowes or the Depot......
  16. Does anybody have a source for the original Red and Black Stripped speaker wire that Klipsch used? Just curious, as I have tried to search for it, to no avail.......
  17. SAM, If there is anything that I can help you with, in your build, please let me know...I have built several Base Bins in the last six months. Please see build thread below. Also, I will be updating that thread with some test results, in the coming days....Time has been very short for the last three weeks as the construction of a new building, is taking ALL of it....! W. C.
  18. Kg4, Have you ever used Arauco for any projects before? It is NOT cabinet grade material at all, has a tendency to bow and will need to be veneered. It also has a tendency to de-laminateand and has a lot of voids in it. If you just HAVE to use it, be sure to check the edges for de-lamination. You would be much better off using double layer 19mm Baltic for the outer cabinet. Will yield 38mm of thickness, which is substantial. Sometimes...Cheap IS CHEAP....! W. C.
  19. Dave, In 89 it would have been Release 10 which by a lot of AutoCAD users thinking, was the BEST release to date. It offered some really exciting improvements over 9 and it was around for almost five years, which by todays standards is an eternity....While todays programs still use DOS variants, the original DOS was very user friendly and it could be trouble shot very easily. I think C++ while great has made it more difficult for the average user. In AuroCAD, the LISP ruled as you could macro your way to heaven....! GREAT picture...! W. C.
  20. Don, The ONLY way it could possibly open release 12 in half a second is if you never got out of AutoCAD, You would have to leave the program running for it to do that. I ain't buying the half second stuff.....sorry......again, I am certainly not opposed to starting a new AutoCAD thread and we can bump heads all we want.....
  21. I don't think they had 200 mHz machines in 89, of course, I could be wrong...............anyway,the later machines loaded much faster.
  22. Dave, I got my CAD start in being on the original Beta Team for AutoDesk back at the end of 77, I believe....memory is much to faded today. I can honestly tell you one thing...up to the advent of multiple processors, I have NEVER had AutoCAD load in less than 30 seconds....Back in 78, 79 the first versions were going to market and average loadtimes were about 40 to 45 seconds, on 286 based processors ......Man when the first 386's came out I remember making the foolish statement that there would NEVER be any need for anything faster...the next year the 486's were introduced and the rest is history......I was reared on Fortran and Cobal, the old IBM 360, in 71 was fed by key - PUNCHED index cards.....talk about antiquated....! 5MB RLL drives looked like cake dishes, about 15 inches in diameter....We could probably go on for hours about this as it is really bringing back memories but that should be another thread entirely....YES, it is very easy to side track a great thread and I again apologize.....! Yes...I DO remember the Baron....!
  23. Danzo, Thanks for getting this back ON Topic as I apologize for my part in taking it sooooooo far off.......... W. C.
