i feel truly fortunate to have obtained one of these SONY CRAP receivers.(joke)i've sold es on and off thru my 10 yrs. Hello, I was looking forward to buying the RSW15 but after hearing and seeing it in person (IT IS TOO BIG!!!!) and does not have the output of a friends SVS by far. So SVS IT IS!!! Do you believe they put the inputs on the front of this Beast (size only) SVS has alot smaller footprint and ALOT more output.. They are a small company with a great customer service record and ALOT OF BANG FOR THE BUCK.. Less overhead and cheaper operating costs without the many people making ALOT of money before you even see at your local dealer means you get a factory price!!! Good Luck, Steve www.noav.com

Welcome Newbie!!! I want to add to the "Sony bashing"!!!! I spent the extra money for the 777ES and thought it was okay for about 2 months. I then began to hear about the different 6.1 and 7.1 formats and realized how screwed I was with the P.O.S. Sony 777. Well to my rescue I was turned-on to a different board that the 777ES was featured on for an downloadable upgrade... The first thing I noticed is that on the heading of headunits my 777ES was listed as a "NON-FLAGSHIP"!! I was so stupid to let someone sell me a obsolete Sony. I then noticed everything I was having problems with on the 777ES was known problems!!HISS & NOISE=SONY ES. Then to add insult to injury the SONY had a internal fire that I found out later was a recalled item with MANY SONY ES PIECES!!!!!!!!! THIS COULD HAVE BURNED MY HOUSE DOWN WITH MY W2B IN IT!!! I now have an lawyer RETAINED to recover damages I have incurred due to this incident. I am not at liberty to discuss settlement as part of an agreement with SONY OF AMERICA until we have resolved the suit.. BOTTOM LINE IS NEVER BUY SONY FOR AUDIO/VIDEO USE... You have been warned. Yes, I bought the Yamaha and it had a very weak amplifier so I returned it for a Energy which I was very happy with. I then was introduced to a SVS by a local friend and I was blown away by the output for the cost!!! Look into it. Good Luck

Don't buy the Yamaha!!! I made the same mistake once... Look into SVS or Energy, you will get alot more bang for the buck.

You need to get you center channel closer to your computer monitor you are using for a tv.... You can't get any channel seperation in the current set-up you have. And remember whatever you do Never buy any Sony..... If you need any equipment email me at www.noav.com Peace, Steve

Energy is the younger brother of Mirage.. Mirage makes Klipsch look like Radio Shack speakers. Energy is far superior to any series Klipsch sub. Face it Klipsch has become a Monster Cable supporter???!!!!??? At some point we all realize money is better than any hobby.

Avman, hold on , this will sting.. properly cared for????!!!!!?????!!!! i treated that piece of s%$t better than my old denon that worked fine for years.... too bad the denon does not have surround features!!!! i hate to break this to you but, sony is not "high-end" by a long shot , someone really has your mind lost. you must be a sony es dealer to like it so much. i just got my hands on a dealer cost sheet and the mark up is robbery!!!! my lawyer found out there was a major recall sent out on these japanese paper weights. did you know that mr.sony??? i can't believe someone who claims to be in the business for so long would like sony...i remember i thought bose was high-end then i learned alot about them and realized what a rip off is. sony is the same way. remember marketing can sell anything...

Well I think I can help avman!! If you measure with a string the angle of the front of the speaker against your sitting position at ear level. Meaning if you take a protractor and set it on top of your speaker to get the exact angle degree. You will need two people for this. Once you have that angle post the results and with my Nearfield calibrated microfone I can give you where the sweet spot will be!!!! DEAM

Here we go.. So I am home and burning a "FAT ONE" (weed is your friend!!) Anyway I was listening to the Janet Jackson DVD which I often listen to when I need to "unwind" after work. So all is good and I decided I REALLY had the munchies..... I was so high I could not move. After concentrating for a long time I made my way to the kitchen for some fried chicken from Popeyes a couple days ago. All of a sudden on the DVD there was a explosion that was planned, But I thought they had killed Janet. (HAHAHAHAHA) After laughing like a jackass with myself I smelled a strong burning smell....I thought I had dropped my "friend" in the sofa. When I got to the sofa I saw my friend in the ashtray.(WHEW) Then it got real electronic smelling. Thinking I had blown a couple drivers again I headed toward the A/V rack. IT WAS THEN I REALIZED MY SONY ES RECEIVER WAS ON FIRE!!!!!!!! I CAN NOT TELL YOU HOW PISSED I AM TO FIND OUT THERE WAS A RECALL ON SONY ES RECEIVERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The point of this is if any of you use Sony ES headunits BE AWARE OF THIS SERIOUS ISSUE...(GET RID OF IT NOW!!!!) I am now in touch with an lawyer for my legal rights about this incident.. Well back to my "BIG FAT ONE" without a receiver!! I think I will look into B & K.
