EV 15W (K?) 15 inch might be ev sourced khorn woofer $200

We strongly recommend personally picking up the McIntosh gear as the glass faces are somewhat fragile and difficult or impossible to replace/repair.

Audio classics.com has or makes shipping boxes for McIntosh gear and we recommend getting a special box for shipping these.  I have asked them for a quote on the price for each box.

    See pics on page 1.

  2. I have for sale a pair of black RB75 that are in good condition. The grills look to be perfect; the cabinets have a couple of small rubbed places, and one woofer has two small deformations, the pictures show the worst places.

Due to the weight of the horn drivers, several of these have had damaged horns while being shipped and there are no replacement parts. Because of the risk of damage, I prefer local pick-up (~15 miles from Lexington KY), plus it affords the buyer the opportunity to listen to them first. I am willing to remove the drivers and pack everything for free, but not the shipping cost.

<edit> I have had these since 2016 or 2017. I am not using them and am passing them along so someone can enjoy what they offer.

    Can you insulate it somehow?

Yes. It was dark and I was scrambling. I happened to have a ~ 12" long x 5/8" drill bit handy.. Drilled for all it was worth, no water. Grabbed a pick and dug back a foot or more, cut the PVC pile, and drilled again and struck water that time.
I will make a few changes.

Last week it was Tues or Wed then shifted to Monday.  Sent him a text this morning and got a "probably Friday."  FINALLY got a shower this afternoon at the kids.  He did tell me last week he was working on a new house and had to get it finished.  But....  lol

Yeah, new empty houses to plumb are more urgent than ones occupied.

I would bet that someone will be looking to find a new plumber.

For years, people have tried to get you to stop posting false information and criticizing other people's work. There is a reason that Klipsch, by way of JEM, sells new capacitors and complete crossovers and it's not because of a myth. This type of condescension is killing this forum which used to be an excellent forum for Klipsch enthusiasts and for people to get great advice.

Don't you have some LaScala, Khorn, and Heresy or some other project to work on or listen to?

Thanks for the closeup pictures. I have no idea how much you gave for those speakers, but you got burned. Sell them to me and save yourself some frustration.

    Those look great, real keepers.

I just tried to add some pics and it will not allow me to for some reason. Is there an easier way to add pics? This site must be an older format in need up updating.

Yeah, right. Any excuse to not prove you have CF3s.  :P

The picture(s) have to be less than 2MB. If the picture is more than 2MB, you'll have to resize it. You can post them one at a time if less than 2MB individually.

I'm just waitin on a plumber.

    Speaking of a plumber:
My day started as usual, I woke up too early (4 am) and I started a load of laundry first thing, right after starting some coffee. All went well until I heard water running, but differently than I would normally hear it. The washing machine's drain was clogged somewhere and the machine, on its rinse cycle, was pumping the second large load of water out and the b@$7@rd didn't care where the water went. Stopped the machine and threw down some large towels to soak some of the water that was on the floor... then it hit me that the spare kitchen downstairs was tied into the same drain. Yes, I had a mess.
The laundry and spare kitchen drain is independent of the rest of the house and drains outside. The below-zero and below-freezing for the past few days froze the drain at the opening, something that hasn't happened before.

  9. Hi Pak, welcome to the forum.

Being a newbie to Klipsch Hersey, I am hoping to find some help/info here.  Specifically I like to know

    (1) what kind of upgrade is with the crossover (see pics)?

    (2) any suggestions as to refinishing the front black board?

    Many thanks in advance.

    Pak

There will be help here, though there might be some delayed responses due to some might not see your questions very quickly. It is to your advantage to study to know who is who.

As far as your crossovers, those are not stock Klipsch networks. They are your speakers and I won't tell you what to do, but if they were mine, I would leave them as they are. The workmanship looks fine. I can't read what brand the parts are, but they look okay from the picture.

The sound-deadening material is not stock either. A lot of us have used similar material. Can you tell if the material is sticking to the horn with an adhesive or are the black bands the only thing holding the material on?

it's OO1  , some people think ( myth  ) that the older inductors , wiring  ,caps require replacement , while the Original klipsch 40 year old parts actually test better on specs versus new 3rd party parts that do not match klipsch specs  , the result is a speaker that no longer sounds like a klipsch speaker .

it's OO1  , klipsch supplied capacitors  are recommended by klipsch ,  sold by klipsch , and used by klipsch in all their new speakers , klipsch does not market these products for profit but rather as a service to Forum members who wish to restore their old crossovers at an affordable price   .@JEM Performance    https://jemperformanceaudio.com/capacitor-kits

    - klipsch capacitors restore the original klipsch sound in older crossovers without requiring to replace any additional parts  regardless of whether the networks are 40-45-50 years old   .

I tried posting a couple and they wouldn't upload, I'll try again here.

Are you using the tube amp and fan to help heat your house? 😅

The Forte was one of the few pair of speakers that I could make the speakers disappear and produce a soundstage. It took a little moving them this way and that, but they vanished, even with my eyes open.

It's the perfect time of year for staying in, too. Again, congrats.

the seller has not been on the Forum since Sept 4 -2019

There has been a huge exodus from this forum since 2019. In this one thread alone, there are ~ 30 longtime members who have left since 2019, and most of the others only look but have quit posting. During Covid people were confined indoors and or working from home, so it's not because they were outside and away from their computers. FB and AK have been here for many years, so it's not like there's a new place to go, but that's where they went.

I wonder why so many longtime members left in such a short span and what can be done to make others not want to leave.

    "WE" don't know squat.

Some of us know there have been experiments with the La Scala.  What else is new?  No one but Roy knows if there will be a change to production models.

Yes, someone has been using "we" as if he's an employee, representative, or some sort of advisor. He's been the boss of the forum for a couple of years, maybe he's Roy's boss now... it sure does look like it.

  14. DUCK HUNTING IN TEXAS

A big-city California lawyer went duck hunting in rural Texas. He shot and dropped a duck, but it fell into a farmer's field on the other side of a fence from where the lawyer shot.

As the lawyer started to climb over the fence, an elderly farmer drove up on his tractor and asked him just what the heck he thought he was doin'.

The lawyer responded, "I shot a duck and it fell into this field, and now I'm going to retrieve it."

The old farmer replied, "You just hold on a dadburn minute. This is my property and thar's no way yur comin' over that thar fence."

The indignant lawyer said, "I am one of the best trial attorneys in the U.S. and if you don't let me get that duck, I'll sue you and take everything you own!

The old farmer smiled and said, "Apparently, you don't know how we do things down here in Texas. We settle small disagreements like this with the 'Texas Three-Kick' rule."

The lawyer asked, "What is the 'Texas Three-Kick Rule'?"

The farmer replied, "Well, first I kick you three times, and then you kick me three times, and so on, back and forth, 'till someone gives."

The attorney quickly thought about the proposed contest and decided that he could easily take the old codger. He agreed to abide by the local custom.

The old farmer slowly climbed down from the tractor and ambled up to the city feller. His first kick planted the toe of his heavy work boot into the lawyer's shins, causing him to hop on one foot. His second kick knocked the man right off his feet. With the lawyer flat on his back, the farmer's third kick caused him to see stars.

The lawyer summoned every bit of his will, managed to get to his feet, and said, "Okay, you old coot! Now it's my turn!"

The old farmer smiled and said, "I give up. You can have the duck!"

A wealthy art collector’s lawyer said

"Saul, I have some good news and I have some bad news."

The art collector replied, "You know, I've had an awful day, Jack, so let's hear the good news first."

The lawyer said, "Well, I met with your wife today, and she informed me that she has invested only $5,000 in two very nice pictures that she thinks will bring somewhere between $15 and $20 million ... and I think she could be right."

Saul replied enthusiastically, "Holy cow! Well done! My wife is a brilliant businesswoman, isn't she? You've just made my day. Now, I know I can handle the bad news. What is it?"

The lawyer replied, "The pictures are of you and your secretary"

    I have a trailer too. 🤪

In that case, I've not listened to the Khorns for a while, so they can go, and a pair of Mahogany KLF30 are not being used (the Mahogany makes them sound better), a pair of Heresy II and since you're bringing a trailer, you get two pair of KP362.

How are you on amps? 😁
