  1. I’m sure most members will know that the ears feel vibrations if they can’t hear an actual sound

This is also true for the 5 senses as they work together to form the whole picture

So I would like to pose a question

If a blind person does not have sight - then hearing and smell is enhanced to compensate

  2. Today’s spin is sadly my last Manfred Mann album in the collection

It was great to revisit this band as I enjoyed all the albums again

Not sure why most pundits overlook this band as they are every bit as good if not better than most bands of their day

Artist - Manfred Mann’s Earth Band

    Title - Chance

    Album ID - L37462

  3. I alternate between

    First Watt -M2

    and

Hand Made Weston Acoustics amps from Australia

My amps were a custom made design they were built with tube rolling in mind - 4 types can be used

    http://www.westonacoustics.com/

    Here are some photos

Both hand built by Earle Weston

When I say hand built I mean hand built as he also winds his own transformers

This is the main amp and has an output from 6 to 14wpc depending on tubes used ( KT88 tubes in photo  )

And this is the preamp with inbuilt DAC and headphone amp

  4. Next up is also a great album

A little earlier than my last spin - this album was released in 1972

This album I believe is the first release of the “Earth Band”  name change and new band members

Artful Prog with a rock twist at its best - a very nice album

Artist - Manfred Mann’s Earth Band

    Title - Self Titled

    ID - 6308086

    On Philips 1972

  5. Although I like all in my collection, this album is probably my favourite Manfred Mann’s Earth Band

Slightly shorter songs but with full impact and conviction shows

    Super tight and great musicianship

There are a few songs on this album I did not possess so I bought it off Ebay for a decent price. Already in 1976 when she was still young and actually just beginning her long career she was popular enough to release a collection of her songs. A chance to hear a budding voice that matured with age.

It’s funny, I always thought La Scala’s were much larger than that! I might be able to actually fit those in the new place, when I move..

    With all the modifications

My La Scala are taller than me

Please Note - My components have changed since this video was taken a few years ago

Such a great group...  Got some nice seats in Cleveland for I'm thinking the last stop on the tour...  Worst show EVER sound-wise.  Tin cans and string would have sounded better.  Every thing they had running was garbage...  Ugh...  Actually left early it was that bad.

    I am feeling your pain

However the sound issue may not have been the bands fault

Tuning and sound setup is normally performed by other technicians and sometimes the venue may only allow their own people to use the equipment

  9. Spinning now a traditional rock with prog leanings album from 1978

This release is dominated with keyboards and guitar

I’m sure most members will know this band and songs

    Extra info

This album was part of a purchase I made a few weeks ago

I was surprised that it was a sample gatefold record that Discogs say is from NZ

Suprised that it’s as new and has the promo literature inside, this includes a story of the band a magazine clipping and a B&W photo

    See photos

  10. I myself currently have 3 Turntables

    A Garrard 401 idler drive - A Thorens TD147, belt drive - A Revox 795 a Direct Drive

Mike also sold a 20 year automotive project

But he can tell you all about it

    PS

    Also nothing wrong with country

Ita a precursor to rock and roll - some of the best guitarist’s were country musos
