In developing an audiophile level system, which is the most critical component, the amp or the preamp? Restated, if you had to put your money in one or the other, would it be the amp or the premp?

Based on many of your great comments on grounded grid preamp, I bought a Wyetek Ruby preamp. The reviews were stellar (but aren't they all) and I got a good deal.

I bought it based on reviews and comments here about the grounded grid design preamps. Looking forward to hearing it with Palladiums as soon as Rodney puts my speakers up for sale.
