  1. Huh? yeah, that's what I said. Only advantage is probably on long runs. . . and a db gain.....
  2. Jealous! That's the pre amp I want. I know there is no advantage to going balanced......just want it lol
  3. Where did you find an AV7702? decent deal? That's what I want
  4. Watching Thor as i type......wow......you're gonna love it!
  5. A or C weighted measurements?
  6. Imitation Games. Great voices and great soundtrack
  7. OP, Great decision on the 7's and 64 (future purchase) I pretty much have a similar setup as you. (minus dual subs which i want and will get soon). Emo makes great gear but as you pointed out, it's not really even close for price/performance ratio. The ATI 2005 is around $2600 so grabbing the same amp under the outlaw name is a no brainer at $1599. Despite what some may say, when you go to the 7's, they love power! There are some impedance dips that most AVR's can't handle (not saying yours can't) but the headroom is unbelievable. Trust me, I've been there and done that
  8. I got my 7ii's and the 64ii for $2550 shipped.....All brand new and A stock. . . and that was before the Ref prem came out. I'm sure you could get close to your budget if you called around. You're on the right track with buying an amp if you decide to go the 7 and 64 route. 7's love power.

  10. Please hook those babies up to some real power and let them shine! Let us know the difference in SQ
  11. This is a post from the President of Emotiva. I want people to share their experiences and opinions here on the Lounge. I don't care what they talk about product wise. You like another product? Cool. We're not worried. We welcome comparison. If some guys think their AVR is all they need, well that's fine. Maybe it fits their needs and their budget. Some people do not like to feel like their decisions and opinions are being challenged. They get angry and defensive. Maybe that's the core of the issue there... All you have to do here is be civil and respectful... opinionated is fine. No taunting!! Clearly they have not heard a system with real headroom. Headroom is what having big amps is all about; not playing as loud is you can stand it! I'm thinking about doing a tech article on this very subject. I'd like to show how a typical "brand X" receiver behaves in a real world situation with typical speakers in an average listen room. You will be amazed to see how quickly you can run out of gas. I can drive an XPA-5 into mild clip quite easily with the right type of program material, so imagine what a receiver that makes less than half of its rated power with all channels drive will do. Headroom is all about clarity, resolution and maintaining dynamics. You will be amazed at how much more you can hear when your system is not pushed to it's dynamic limits. power wise. Stand by... In the meantime, have fun kids! Cheers, Big Dan
  12. Man, you guys with heritage make me envious. I have never heard them and would love to if any owners have some in NC. My situation on my gear is based on space. I would love the have some heritage gear.....maybe in my next house that i would build around my gear, not the other way around like I did with this house.
  13. Probably because amps cost a lot more than a video card or cpu
  14. Great that you guys are hanging out! Had a chance to listen to his stock rf7II?
  15. With today's Filet Mignon prices, its probably the same price per pound!
  16. damn scrap, you getting those too?!
  17. Congrats!! You'll love it! Glad you went with that over the Emotiva
  18. I've read that before somewhere and I think that's a fair comparison. I just really doubt any of us could discern any audible differences between the 2. Hell, I got mine used because it was only a year old for a grand. I still have 3 years left on the warranty. I just couldn't see myself paying ATI prices knowing it's essentially the same thing.
  19. Yup, internally it looks just like my amp.....external, not so much.
  20. Is it? You didn't post the ATI 2005....
  21. So 2 speakers with the same specs sound the same? yes, if they are the same brand......as in this case I guess you missed my point which was the just because 2 DIFFERENT things (amps, speakers etc) have the same specs on paper, doesn't mean they sound the same. No I understood your point, and in your example, you would be correct. In the case of the ATI vs Outlaw 7500.....they are the same amp and the point becomes moot.
