I bought a trail cam to see what roams my property, it's been very interesting and I set it and check it every week.
I don't need a cam, I can talk to them every night by the window 😂

If I would not have to swim across the ocean, I would come to get them 😀.

Do all magnets need remagnetization or just alnicos?

garyrc above has made an excellent point.
I also have more experience with direct radiator speakers than horns, and found that many of them like better ATCs above or Harbeths and Tannoys do well presentation of wood instruments. Even a pair of Italian Opera Primas that I have in smaller room do that very realistically in a good room.

The Meze 99 Classics ...
sounds warm, rich, sonorous, but at the same time precise, without overemphasizing the rather silky-soft treble.
The bass is very agile, full-bodied and powerful, the Meze delivers immediate, direct punch.Sounds dynamically involving, resolves well, but is not a listener for analysis fans, delivers a pleasantly three-dimensional spatiality that comes closer to the ear; there are headphones that stagger the stage wider and deeper, impresses with a colorful midband, is also suitable for quiet listeners, are suitable as high-efficiency headphones, not least for low-noise mobile devices, are pleasantly light and comfortable to wear, have a high-quality finish and are robust. allow easy replacement of individual components, which facilitates possible upgrades or repairs.Sound like everything they say about them in Meze website and then some more. 🙂
I looked and now they have to be preoredred, I guess they are out of stock due to demand. Good score then...

Since you are going active, here is a thread that could put some light on the subject...
I have heard super tweeters on Tannoys, the sound was very good to my ears, but haven't listened the same speakers without super tweeters so can not tell the difference. On the other hand, I have ribbon tweeter on my infinity Qb. I can definitely hear more sound in high frequency region than in other speakers I own, but there are lot other factors that could make a difference here than just drivers, basically what MicroMara wrote above.

Well the last one I liked was Billy Idol a few years ago, just before the COVID hit.
I hope to see the Kiss in their the end of the world tour and the Cure this summer.

Interesting photos. A lot of history there and obviously a great time.

I have auditioned a couple of Monitor audio speakers, bronze, silvers, bookshelves, floorstanders, cheap and very expensive ones.
I almost bought Silver 100 for 2-channel listening.
I also auditioned many Klipsch speakers (RF, RP line), except Heritage line as these are not very common in dealerships.
I own a pair of RF 42IIs for almost 11 years, these are similar to your RP5000s in build and also acoustically as per your description.
Recently I auditioned RP8000F, and these did not lack mid-range.
You should be able to smooth out the sound with receiver EQ settings, and having a center channel between two floorstanders should help.

Hi there.
Try to place RP5000Fs in the corners of the room and point them towards the listening position. Start as close to wall as possible and pool out. You will get the sense of how they respond to placement. At some point they should sound good enough.
Pool the speakers away from corners at small increments until the sound the best. To me it looks like the balance issue. Such small speakers in larger rooms tend to sound tiny if pooled out in the room to much, the bass looses boundary gain and they sound just thin.
Your previous Monitor Audios have much more in that upper bass and mid-range region than Klipsches, so no wonder that you are not satisfied. But all is not lost. Try to experiment and do not give up yet.
Do you have the center-channel speaker in your system? If not, that might fill the gap.

Hi Fido.
What was/were the camera/s used for that shots, rented or yours? Clearly a teem work, to my non-pro eyes it looks that additional lighting was used to get these photos look so good.

Nice to see a person satisfied with the good product ☺️.
I was watching HP-3s in nearby shop for months, but it was just to expensive for me at the time. Impressive looking set of cans. One of the nicest I have seen in along time. Later the salesman told me they had a funny guy also looking at them for a long time before he finally purchased them. Enjoy your HP-3s, I bet the Yamaha is very good driving those headphones. I tried A-S1200 with Beyerdynamics and it was pretty good.

I am in similar age as SWL. I had my hearing damaged still in young age and tested then in my 20s, my right ear hears 70% of what my left ear is hearing. I was not into hi-fi that far back so I can not tell but in last decade I do not feel much difference in my hearing. I also tried that youtube videos with frequency tests, with decent headphones I can hear between 13-14 MHz. But in real life, it appear that does not change so many things. I can hear many if not all differences and nuances in various systems when visiting audio shows. What matters is I still can enjoy music. Yes, sometimes I feel that turning the treble a few notches up could help, but it might just as well be the recording.

Why not going active?

I heard a couple of MF intergrateds and high end amps but not with La Scala.
As per above post - clean, tight and smooth.
The same evening there were M8, NuVista and Yamaha A-S1200 on the same rack and speakers.
Yamaha was more laid back and smoother but MF were more realistic.

Thanks, you are correct of course, I have read that also.
That is why i avoid picture LPs, but this one is so pretty 😍.
And there is a poster too.
Out of just a few picture discs I have, I bought them new and none of them has issues being dirty and all of them are pretty quiet regarding acoustical noise. Also, I have not noticed them being particularly worse then the same albums I have in other formats. May be a bit "soft" sounding but nothing really to point at.
Therefore I was actually surprised that this particular album has more dynamics on LP than on CD. That is the first in my collection.

Lucky you 😄
After the bad LP, I immediately got the 2015 Remastered CD. Agree, this is a good CD but on my system LP sounded better, just if not those awful noise. I am very fond of this album, in my opinion one of the best Bowie ever recorded.

In my last house we had a PSA Triax sub with 3 woofers...it seperated the hardwood floor from the wall. We went from no gap to over 1/4" of a gap.
Pretty much can not happen here 🙃. All the woods are screwed deep into the brick wall, it would require pretty violent vibration to separate them from the walls 😂

No problem for me with Firefox.
But love for it? That would be a bit much 😃.

Looking forward to see the second try to modify these speakers. Also following what MicroMara is doing on another thread. Interesting...🧐

Sound is good.
What was it recorded with and how?
Poll...How many people think it would be great if Elon purchased Klipsch?

If ever Elone or somebody else mekes a decision to enter such bussines, they need the know-how.
Does not matter if they chose to have somoene allready at hand or outside.
Proven fact.
If they were to riun the niche, fine.
If they are for advancement, they will treat it with respect.
That's where it all comes at.
And start from that point onward.
