  1. I was shopping RF3iis at Tweeter about a month ago (at time of distribution change) - they assured me that if the speakers did go on sale or clearance w/i 60 days, that the buyer would receive the difference due the pricing guarantee. Additionally, they also stated that they would continue to honor warranty support even as they were no longer selling the brand going forward.
  2. The Tweeter clearance pricing in Dallas is advertised in-store; literally with stacks of sale-tagged Klipsch boxes in bundles scattered throughout the showroom floor.
  3. Michael Connelly is excellent. New Bosch book out next month!
  4. Dallas area - not sure why there was a disparity in advertised pricing - would assume could get same pricing as they are owned by the same company. Tweeter ~ 25% discount Hillcrest ~ 30% discount Will be much more tempted if they were to hit ~ 50%..
  5. For those in the market for new gear... local area Tweeter and Hillcrest Hi Fidelity stores have initiated clearance of all Klipsch inventory.
  6. What can I reasonably expect to get in terms of price for the following? Note, all speakers purchased new from local authorized Klipsch dealer, in mint condition with original boxes, packaging, manuals and warranty cards. KSF-8.5 towers, satin black KSC-SC1 center channel
  7. So long as they loose the horrid black "rub strips" on the doors here in the US. Or you could opt for an Evolution or WRX STi that would smoke the S4 for $10k less..
  8. Yep; have been using for nearly 3 years now. Turnaround and title availability has improved noteably in the past 12 months or so due to multiple distribution points. Would highly recommend for frequent/semi-frequent movie renters -- significantly more convenient, greater selection, and more cost effective versus Blockbuster option - not to mention no late fees or standing in line. There are several plans; however, the $15 2 title plan is sufficient for our household ~ 7 titles/mo average.
  9. Price is negotiable --- make me an offer if at all interested.
  10. bump - Price is negotiable, email w/ reasonable offers.

Ideal match to the Synergy KSB series (KSB 1.1, KSB 1.2, & KSB 1.3); comes w/ original box & packing, manual, and warranty card. Purchased from authorized Klipsch dealer - serial # upon request. 12. Unauthorized seller pricing on rf7s is about what friend of mine paid last year from Tweeters with some good old haggling. In talking w/ salespersons at several different local Tweeters last week, they indicated that while discounting may occur at some point due to distribution changes that one should not expect deep discounts anytime soon. 25% private sale was just offered by them a few weeks ago, clearance pricing does not appear to be the case at this time. In addition, I would suspect that there would be some eventual discounting on Ref series once the new models are released.
  13. The answer is Netflix. No trips to the store, no late fees, no waiting in line, and cheaper if you rent more than a few titles a month - not to mention letterbox. I've been a subscriber for three years, and while there were struggles early on, I can say that this is a great service.
  14. Excellent condition, selling to fund system upgrade. Excellent performance - never abused; no cosmetic nicks, scrapes, scratches, or dents. Matched to the Synergy KSB series (KSB 1.1, KSB 1.2, & KSB 1.3) original box & packing, manual, and warranty card. Purchased from authorized Klipsch dealer - serial # upon request. Located in TX, asking $115 shipped via UPS Ground insured - email w/ offers. Rgds- Justin
  15. Not too bad; keep your eyes open, there are a lot of sales these days as this particular market is in a bit of a sales slump. Friend of mine just picked up RF3II for $640/pr and RC3II for $275 from authorized local dealer during 25% off speaker sale.
  16. Where is the idea of Circuit City as a distributor coming into play? (press relase listed below) Local Tweeter salespeople I spoke with state that a strategy for sales of existing inventory has not been formulated; however, any purchases will continue to be covered by 60 day price protection policy (if the items did go on sale). Klipsch Announces New Distribution Strategy and Retail Partner Thursday February 13, 8:18 am ET INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 13, 2003--Klipsch Audio Technologies announced today a bold new distribution strategy that includes ending relationships with two key dealers, part of which was announced on Tuesday, and adding a major new retail partner. According to company officials, the changes will bring order to the market, address escalating regional conflicts, and provide a consistent brand story across all channels of distribution. As of Tuesday, Klipsch has discontinued its relationships with Magnolia Hi-Fi and the Tweeter Home Entertainment Group and its subsidiaries. Additionally, Klipsch will begin selling a limited line of its award-winning Synergy Series loudspeakers, excluding installed and outdoor models, at Best Buy stores across the country on Memorial Day weekend this May. The Reference Series, Klipsch's flagship line of high-performance loudspeakers, will continue to be sold exclusively through audio/video specialists nationwide. Fred Klipsch, chairman and owner of Klipsch Audio Technologies, said Ultimate Electronics and Good Guys immediately embraced the new strategy, and that Klipsch has named them "flagship" retailers along with remaining PRO Group members and many of Klipsch's top 25 independent specialists. "The specialty retail landscape has undergone radical change due to aggressive retail acquisition and consolidation," said Klipsch. "We are moving forward with a strategic realignment that eliminates regional conflicts and creates order in our core business of specialty retail distribution with the Klipsch Reference Series. At the same time, we will broaden our market penetration and brand exposure through Best Buy with the Klipsch Synergy Series." According to Paul Jacobs, chief operating officer of the Klipsch Worldwide Products Group, Klipsch has been selling its ProMedia® line of computer speakers through Best Buy for two years, and it has been successful as a brand strategy to increase demand for high-performance home theater systems. He expects the changes announced today will have an even greater positive impact on the Klipsch brand. Jacobs explained that the Reference Series and the Synergy Series will be managed by separate product development and engineering teams. He said this two-line strategy would allow Klipsch to focus distinct products towards uniquely different retail selling environments, and that the internal separation would guarantee continued delineation between the product lines. "The audio/video specialists who fully supported the Klipsch Reference Series experienced marked increases in sales," Jacobs said. "This distribution realignment builds on the success of that full line strategy and creates a consistent brand story in every market with our Reference Series. "We are excited that the Synergy Series will be offered at Best Buy because they are an excellent retailer whose effective merchandising will communicate a consistent brand story."
  17. You might try posting on ebay, have had luck selling used Klipsch gear when upgrading in the past no problems. Just be sure to clearly articulate condition of whatever you're selling, shipping terms, and expected payment.
  18. Was talking to local store salesperson when doing some shopping for new speakers and they mentioned that that store had just received a notice this week; the person was personally surprised given the fact that they sell so well. Was wondering if there was any truth to it.
  19. Heard that Tweeter may discontinue carrying Klipsch..
  20. What is the going rate on a KLF C7 in good condition?
  21. Do people still have a dedicated CD player for music or leverage the DVD for both? How much does a DVD player matter for matching up sound w/ Klipsch, especially for music?
  22. Monster cable wiring & internal baffling are the key differences, if I'm not mistaken. $500 sounds a little high for used RF3s; local authorized dealer just had RF3-IIs on sale for 25% off list recently ~ $640/pr new. Also note that the RF3IIs will soon be replaced w/ new Reference series line (see Klipsch Newscenter).
  23. So, in general for issues like this under warranty; does Klipsch cover this under the original 5 yr parts and labor warranty?
