  1. Thank you for the response. Kinda what I thought too.
  2. Great brand. I had Denon for a long time. Never let me down. I agree with your statement. They really do have every feature in the book. I bet there are a couple out there for a decent price. JoeDirt - $500 may be a bit on the low side. With the advent of HDMI 2.2 and the new HDCP, you may want to spend just a couple hundred more to get something like the Denon kap just recommended. Just to be future ready. The one Kap mentioned does not have HDMI 2.2 or HDCP. Just to be clear. Great receiver though and I almost bought it like 4 times but the Atmos/4K craze got into my head. Just went and looked at the New SC-95 at Best Buy but there wasn't anybody there to help me. Probably a good thing considering the amount of money I spent on HT in the last month. Ummm, did you mean to just repost our responses???? Or am I getting grammar checked? ***Edit: I saw your response and read it wrong. My bad K5SS. ***
  3. I loved how the KLF-C7 sounded, but it was just too darn big for any room in my house. Otherwise I would have kept/bought the one I was holding onto for Mark. That was one fine center. I have considered the KG 2.2V and the 2.5. Do you have any experience with the 2.5? They seem to be readily available as are the 2.2's. I was under the impression there were some weak links in the Academy. That being said, I'm not sure the 33 pounds would bode well for the shelf it must sit on. The 28 pounds of the RC-3 seem to be irritating it as it is. Just giving you a hard time but...YOU SHOULD MAKE ROOM!!!! MOAR SPEAKERZ! LOL J/K man, hope the search goes well.
  4. I almost spilled my coffee reading that. LOL
  5. I prefer the term headroom. Before you poo poo external amps, there's a lot that needs to be considered. Size of the room, efficiency of the speakers, listening levels, seated distance from speakers, crossover point and what your transient peaks will be (to name a few). Never dumped on external amps, just said they were overkill. I can listen to very loud levels with my 4520 with no problem. However, I can see if someone would want external amps. I've had external amps on my setup before, when I had NHTs, and know they can make a difference.Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk Dang, there are a lot of us from MN!!! Go WILD!

  7. I agree. My Pioneer Elite has Sabre 32 DAC's. That is top of the line stuff. My music on vinyl and any other source is amazing...in my opinion. That..and I have Klipsch speakers, sooooo BOOM!
  8. Heck Yeah Ibiza! I have a new Pioneer Elite SC-91, and it is Wi-fi, has a Class D-3 Amp for stable power, and ATMOS/DTS:X. What more do ya need?!
  9. So I have recently upgraded from 5.1 to 5.1.4 using 4 Klipsch 140SA's. (Thanks NISMO) I have some extra amp channels available and am wondering if adding the two rear channels would really affect my sound field in a meaningful and noticeable way? My surrounds are 160M Reference Premiere Series and have no shortage of punch. Then they have 140SA on top as do my large fronts (280F's) I am not using 5 channels between my SC-91 Pioneer Elite and Marantz M8077 7-channel amp. I have free power basically. Again, if it doesn't add a meaningful amount of sound, just let me know please. Ceiling height is around 8.5 Feet. Room is 20L x 14W x 8.5H. So not the largest room. But not tiny either.
  10. I've posted a fair amount of Atmos info, but cutting thru all the info, hoopla, buzz, specs, etc., I can say this: I wouldn't go back to a non-Atmos set-up. And I always prefer the Atmos track/ mix over the TrueHD 7.1 or DTS HD Master Audio (non-Atmos) track. ... That is at least until DTS:X gets a proper launch. muhwaa haa haa It just so happens my setup has DTS:X as well. Hmmm, see you in the digital sound realm. We are pioneer's!!!
  11. Dude, I love and hate NISMO. He forced me (not really) to spend like, all my monies to buy 140SA's of which I have 4 now. NISMO!!!! GRRRRR. Now I have even more dimension to my listening space. How dare you teach me how to achieve better sound fidelity.
  12. That is a sweet logo. Loving the copper woofer!!! Thanxs NISMO!
  13. I am Married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. After Saturday, I will post.
  15. Thanks man. We are really excited and happy.
  16. Thank you for the kind words. We are very excited to start our life together. And we aren't paying for people to eat and drink. Whole setup cost about $3k.
  17. You all are hilarious. Thx for the well wishes and great jokes. One lesson my father gave me years ago..."Women don't get older, they just get better."
  18. Priority air......just saying Cost = You first born...Your right leg, and your left leg...your spouse, your parents pension...and a Crunch bar.
  19. They will be worth the wait. I promise.
  20. The future is teleporters. Just sayin.
  21. Oh NOOOOOO. My beard keeps my face pretty. Underneath all my manliness is the skin of a unicorn.
  22. I had my forte's shipped to forum member Sergai in the Ukraine and it took longer. Packing, shipping to freight forwarder in NJ, forms for customs. Sitting on docks in US, traveling by boat to Europe, sitting in docks in Europe, examining contents, matching forms with contents, shipping by truck to Ukraine and I am sure stopping several times along the way, eventually arriving in Ukraine and then picked up by Sergai. Yeah, about 2.5 months. Bill Yikes. In this 21st century day in age, you couldn't have just used a drone? Cheap skate!
