  1. Thanks Grizzog.  That gives me something to think about.  There is all kinds of blues.  I target the electric blues with guitars predominating.  Forte still shine?

By far. The whole speaker is fantastic but the midrange is astonishing.

Am i the only one excited about the new reference line? I have been keeping an eye out for the Rf7 lll all year. But these could be very interesting too i think. Although not so much if it is just a small makeover to the rp280.

The RF-7 III is still a totally different speaker.

Have you done any mods to your forte or Chorus II?  Or are they both all original?

I own a pair of forte II I purchased new in 92.  I have Crites networks and titanium diaphragms in both the tweeter and squawkers.

When you say the forte III blows them out of the water, can you be more specific?

    Best regards,

    John

The Forte III just sound much more realistic.

They have more full midrange than the Chorus II and don't ever get "shouty" at higher levels. The detail of the 3s is also just about the most I've heard from ANY speaker. There are many pieces to songs that the Chorus just don't capture. Bass I'd say is a close match.

  4. I'm curious...I expect a larger amount of low range than the Heresy ... Forte III is certainly a more "adult" speaker of the Heresy, and certainly better than the Cornwall in particular for the size. The expectation is great!

You will get much more low range...and spectacular mids.

  5. I have noticed afew say they would rather have the rf63 over the rp280f speakers. What are the differences in sound and do any feel its the other way around sound wise. Just wonder what the 63 does that the 280 doesn't? Also who has heard both.

The 63/83 were the top of the RF line at the time. They use a true 1.25" compression driver vs a horn loaded dome for the RP line. A well-executed compression driver is something special.

I have noticed several thread related to the new RF 7 III, Forte III and so on,  All claim that the past speakers were flaw and the sound was considered objectionable by a large number of listeners.  It is truly amazing that Klipsch has lasted this long with a product that everyone seems to not like.  It can't just be the made in America things or, are the number of complainers that large compared to the people that like the Klipsch sound.  There are plenty of other brands for those folk to pick from.

They have to make improvements/changes otherwise there's no reason to introduce a new model.

I had the Forte I, currently have the Chorus II and Forte III. The Forte I and Chorus II are not fatiguing and are great speakers. The Forte III, however, blows them out of the water. They truly are fantastic.

I also owned the RF-7II, which was fatiguing and bright to me. It has a rising response above 2k with a couple peaks in the response that bother some people but not others. That doesn't make them bad speakers, but ones that did not fit my (and many) tastes. I assume the RF-7III is in response to the complaints around some of the response issues and I'm excited to get the news ones and see what they're all about!

Curious, our you using RC-64 with Forte? First time that I heard of someone using as center. Usually Academy or KLF-C7. I been using the KLF-C7 for center with Heresy III as surround.

Welcome any thoughts you want to share. Thanks, Jeff

I've used the 64II with Chorus II for a while and it works great. Blends very well and is almost as efficient. (99db vs 101)

  8. I still think it's a placement issue. I know other speakers sounded fine in the position but that doesn't mean much. Every speaker is different.

The Forte III is the most realistic sounding speaker I've ever owned...and I've owned somewhere near 40 pairs now.

They have a more realistic sound than my Altec 19s and that is saying A LOT.
