  1. Yes please give us your review after having no sub. It'll be interesting to get it from that perspective. I would add "Finding Nemo" and the lumber-truck accident scene in Final Destination 2.
  2. Thanks for telling him all of that Ear, I learned from reading it. Sanman, get back to us on this thread and let us know how it goes!!!
  3. ...and how big of a room are we talking here? Also ceiling height?
  4. I sent Trey two of the offending threads this morning... didn't know that I should have sent them to Amy.
  5. Wow. At that size you might as well just buy a projector and pull-down screen. Else your room is filled with a couch and a very, very large box.

  7. Hey twisted, welcome to the forum! It is in your best interest to keep the same series of speaker for all speakers, be that Synergy, Reference, or other. While it is not "bad" to mix, the best sound would come from same series speakers because of the voice-match. However a mix is much more preferred over mixing and matching with different speaker brands ... So: Same Series > Mix of Series > Mix of different speaker brands. I am not very familiar with the inwall Klipsch speakers, so I can't help you there. The majority of people on this board have visible speakers in their room so finding a lot of input to your questions might be difficult, but let's see..

I am really, really interested in seeing the process. Possibly you could provide us newb's with detailed information each step along the way? I am thinking about the diy route eventually, but in no hurry. Projector first

That leaves some questions... 1) The speaker would be very close to the wall, inches in fact...wouldn't the sound produced be rather boomy and flat? 2) I wonder how the heck I can mount that thing without fear of it falling down. Luckily I have not drywalled yet, so are there suggestions? I do like the suggestion because then there is no more money spent and more on a projector
  11. Well I am in the process of turning the basement into the theater room I've wanted for over a year now. The problem is that it is a rather small 12 - 13 ft wide by 20 or so foot long. Basically I won't be able to use the RF-3II's that I currently use for my surrounds because they will be too close to the listener. Also, I plan on having 2 rows, so the floorstander wouldn't be such a good idea I don't think. So what would? I was thinking RS-3II, but I've heard back and forth about how it is a sound thrower that goes everywhere. Not sure if I'll like that. Or should I consider shelving an RB or even a RC speaker? What would you suggest for my situation? And also, how high and how would you mount your choice? Basically the way the room is designed you enter the room on the back wall, and the riser is right there. So the surround speaker will be in front of the 2nd row and the 1st row will be even with or in front of the speaker, it doesn't matter. Thanks you guys (I don't know what I'm going to do with the 2 floorstanders now...

  13. CAS, Check out this thread: LINK TO THREAD It is there the 2nd photo down that you can see where my surrounds are... I'd like to hear your opinion.
  14. Thank you very much for that detailed reply! I was considering your idea for my surrounds since I have a hard time hearing them for some reason or another. Doesn't feel spacey, but rather pretty direct. Placing them higher and tilting slightly downwards would remove that problem I am guessing.
  15. Also, is it possible you can provide detail about those stands? What wood did you use? How did you attach the wood (nails, screws, glue?). Steps to be careful of...etc. Thank you soo much in advance!!!!
  16. Wow, those are beautiful. But question for you. Wouldn't it make sense to have the horn and such pointing down in the direction of the listener? It looks like the top of the platform is flat. Why did you decide on this? How did you decide the height etc? Where on the speaker is ear level? First woofer? Sorry for so many of those questions. I'm just very interested in it myself. Also, how could I potentially take your design and modify it to slope downwards toward the front so I could have the speaker tilt and the horn point down toward the listener?
  17. Uh so pretty much this whole thread is off topic. Can we get back to OP's question? Anyone hear any news from the show?!
  18. I keep refreshing this thread because it is an interesting question and one I'd like to know what is causing it. I don't have a suggestion... but I will provide a bump..
  19. I like the 8-bit NES system you have there on the right. Classic.
  20. Hey nWo... if ya like wrestling you might enjoy my forum name Anyways have you considered towing in the mains a bit? Also maybe pointing the center channel towards the listener would be good too. Nice clean setup, I like.
  21. While I appreciate the Paradigm and Klipsch KHO-7 suggestions, these prices are in the $250 - 450 range! KHO-7's are $400. If it is just background music for outside on the deck, is it really necessary to spend this kind of money to get some nice sound?!! I was originally thinking $200 or under would easily handle it.... just seems very pricy for what you get, or maybe I'm losing it
  22. Woah dude, 8 whole months waiting on getting it fixed? I started buggin the heck out of H/K and tech specialists when mine went more than 4 weeks without much work done. Whining can be a good thing, they sent me a new upgrade. I don't know HOW you could stand THAT long of a time and not throw a fit, ask for money back, a replacement etc....I wish I had that kind of patience... Secondly, wow a new pair of K-Horns. I never knew it took so long to get a pair once you order them. What is the process and why does it take so dang long?
