  1. If you are meticulous, it is possible to replace the dust-cap. First you have to take off the first dust-cap and then pick up the new one with specific glue.

    choose the right model

The second solution is to cut the first dust-cap close to the membrane. Then paste a new cache but slightly larger than the original, so the old collage will be invisible. The only constraint is that you have to do the operation on both speakers so that it is balanced visually.

Warning ! do not drop dust in the coil, when cutting, you can use a small vacuum cleaner with open exhaust to prevent the tube from sticking is deforming the membrane.

  3. I have a new TEAC TN 550 optimized with some options: mat cover acrylic, granite support, presser puck Millenium, African black wood headshell Yamamoto HS1A  ... and with an AT VM740ML. The result very very good and not too expensive: 1000 € here for turntable + cartridge and accessories. The TEAC TN-550 is very good with this Jelco Arm, it's great because you can change the VTA.

In the past I had beautiful turntables: Linn Sondek LP12 with Dynacector Ruby, French Turntable 80kg with unipivot arm Lurné and cell AT33E, ...

Thanks to your location info, I looked up Beaucaire and ended up learning a lot about the religious wars in the South of France during the Medieval period!  BTW, on some forums I use a picture of the Pont du Gard as my avatar.

Also, people, please don't mangle your F3s!  They're nearly perfect as is.

    Hello !

Great your research on my region 👍😜

In Beaucaire there was a huge fair, one of the largest in Europe, from 1217 until the 19th century. There were up to 170 boats per fair on the Rhône.

In Beaucaire there are also Roman remains of Via Domitia and around less than 12 miles away, there are the arenas of Nimes and Arles, an ancient theater in Arles and of course the Pont du Gard.

There is also known the medieval castle of Beaucaire and that of Tarascon in front.

And then not far from Les Baux de Provence and Arles where Van Gogh painted many paintings.

Sorry for this long "off topic", so back to Forte III  😁

I agree, it's better to play the tone controls rather than changing the speakers.

I am VERY interested in the adapter plate/B&C driver combo used in the K771 assembly!

The DE5/DE7 this appears to be based on isn't a terribly expensive driver at retail so it makes me wonder if they might not switch over the rest of the Heritage line? They all began with the K77 after all.

    Yes ! It's Right    👍

And for upgrade our actual heritage : Heresy III, Cornwall III, La Scala, AK, ...  That would be good, no?

  6. No  😀

I use both, a McIntosh C504 preamp with its fabulous phono section. Then in passive biamping McIntosh MC2125 in the bass for the K33E and then a beautiful Cary SLi50 of the beautiful era, 1996 for mine. I use 5U4G SED Svetlana NOS tubes, then Psvane, and finally EL34 Mullard (JJ 6CA7 on pics). The solid state provides a large and powerful bass and then the tube amp a warm and suave sound for the Klipsch horns.

Thanks, Shu --- I don't see this on the site, other than discounted special edition Ebony for $1,899 ea. Perhaps I'm looking in the wrong spot? Thanks to forum members who offered input and suggestion to contact Cory. I will do that soon. My theory here is that Adorama got a deal with Klipsch to buy a batch of B-stock, blems, or otherwise "un-sellable as new" Forte's. The problem is that they didn't open them up when they received them, to inspect, and they didn't disclose any damage or defects in advance to potential buyers. I inspected the boxes mine came in, and they had the original tape on them - so they weren't opened up before sending to me. No damage to the box makes me think they might've left the factory that way. That's hard to believe, I dunno. Some may have gotten lucky with slight blems, others much worse like mine. At any rate, they are going back tomorrow. Here's the labels --- and I'm not sure why they didn't take the time to pull consecutive serial #'s --- it says right there on the label (another issue). Maybe this indicates some info., maybe not. Just wanted to post a follow up in the event it might help someone else in the future. THX.

p.s. My 11 year old daughter, who is into ELO, Styx, and Tom Petty, begged me to keep these. She loves them,  but I said -- you'll get these someday when I'm gone, so we want them to be "mint". I reassured her we would be ordering replacements --- it just may cost a little more and take more time to save up.

Yes there is a problem with the pair, especially for the matching veneer with the other speaker. It would have taken 90060 with 90059 or 90058 with 90057 :(

For Klipsch MATCHED PAIRS Each pair of Heritage Series loudspeakers is grain-matched using wood veneer panels that come from the same timber. Each cabinet is carefully matched so that each speaker in the pair is practically indistinguishable from the other. The speakers move seamlessly together through the factory. Each finished product is inspected and labeled with sequential serial numbers, ensuring that the Heritage series speakers leave the factory as a meticulously crafted set.

Thank you for that great post.

I believe @mikebse2a3 runs your AD 2a3Ii integrated amp and CAD 2A3SE monoblocks, I am not sure if he is using those together or if he is switching them in and out.

You have to bi-amp the Jubilees because they require an external crossover.  Some run passive, but a lot run active crossovers.  More than a few run tube amps on the top section, and SS on the LF.

    Travis

As far as I am concerned, I am in passive bi-amplification. A Mc 2125 in the bottom and the fabulous Cary SLI 50 (version 1 2 x 30W in class A) and I am happy like that since 1998.

    Daryl,

On a side note, I sent a message regarding tube substitution through the Cary Audio website on Monday. Today is Friday and no response. Is this normal?

    THX

In 2016, I had done the same thing by contacting the technical support of their site to ask them about changing the valve rectify on my SLI50. He had fussed that I do a relaunch on the commercial contact of their site after ten days and the technician then quickly answered me.
