  1. Oh heck I had you confused with someone else on here! Busy lately and only getting further behind. But the intersection of 26 X 95 is only three hours from me, driven to FL hundreds of times that way. Fifty pounds! When I used PCPower&Cooling 510 power supplies for pcs I built, the general thinking was the heavier the better. Yep Gastonia is close, closer time wise & more safe on US74 than I-85 now!

    The Other Discs

Naa, just sounds a little digitalized to me compared to the original LPs. It's got a few of my faves on it so I can jam in the car, can't listen to the radio long enough to get to the good songs so I quit bothering. The tuner in the new car isn't strong enough to pick up the station I kinda like from Greenville, SC +100 miles south of here.
  3. Yep the one we were at was a long ways south from Lauderdale but not near Biscayne. The crowd was raucous when they ran out of the crabs and we all started banging the butts of our hammers on those heavy wooden tables. The staff freaked for a second then realized everyone was in a crazy-good mood and being childish having fun!

Good idea @dirtmudd Nice collection for when your mobile!
  5. Joe's Crab Shack. Great Place! Was there the week that Andrew hit we got out at the last minute Sat night before the Sun night landfall. Torrential rain from ft. la de da all the way to I-26 in SC
  6. We ARE the East Coast Mr Continental From the Mason/Dixon line down!
  7. Tobacco Road college basketball mid 70s to the 90s wasn't, Clemson Tigers aren't, gorgeous weather more often than not isn't, the ground doesn't shake unless you're near a speedway. Eastern NC pulled pork barbeque, salt & pepper fried catfish, fried chicken, *Maryland Blue Crabs, cornbread without sugar......... It's just the folks that moved down here that are overrated Mr. Hothead! (tips hat smiley)
  8. It dropped us from almost 95 to 75 in a half hour when the storms rolled in here today. Been down into the 60s for the last hour or so. Looks like it's getting to @Tarheel in the next few minutes on the radar.
  9. "That don't confront me!" Love it bud!! George could put on a show.. not like Pink Floyd, or ZZTop or Teddy, or Black Flag... but he would entertain!
  10. & it screamed that I was crazy what a )*&%)(^%
  11. Thank you very much, & that does look like a good thirty pound beast! You are a good ways from here. WV is up 77 from me, so it might be a while but that is more enticing to me than $400 for an Integra at access for less or that $2k Adcom with the .02% thd.
  12. One tokes on the bong?? Only times I tried stuff like that was decades ago when I still partook of the weed!!
  13. That stuff is hella-good @billybob does not belong in the thread!!
  14. Dat's true, so true. But Tammy Faye never bought make-up on my dime!
  15. @richieb never did it like that, but a banana sandwich with peanut butter opposite the mayo is very good!
  16. We do that in the summer for dessert. A pear half over crisp iceberg topped with a tsp or so of mayo (Dukes ONLY..it does not have sugar in it) and a little sharp cheddar grated over it. Try it, kinda cleanses the palette too after spicy or savory dishes.
  17. Cable co hit me with a $50 price increase that I can't stomach. Roku here I come, I don't have to miss my Hurricanes at all! With the streamer I could only use my Heresy for the sound if I have HDMI for the signals. The picture frame tvs just have p*#@-poor excuses for speakers. My cell phone can almost do better and it fits in my pocket I've got a Marantz SR68 @ 75 wpc in good shape with it's working remote that's great for a reasonable setup. Reasonable offers considered.
  18. Touche' @dirtmudd
  19. Wasn't aware @CECAA850, skeptical when "mild abrasive" is used in a product description. And coconut oil if it's like that sunburn oil of the late 70s Hawaiian Tropic it needs a chemical to take it off.
  20. Isn't BonAmi still an abrasive? I wouldn't touch glass with it, especially on an automobile. Denatured alcohol is what I use to take the maple syrup off the glass of our car if I don't wash it twice a week in the fall. Wax X 2 yearly keep it off of the paint job.
  21. Yummy! As long as I've got some lemon with ice cubes or h20 after for my hands I could eat & have eaten those `till I've got a belly-ache!
  22. OK. I tried those speakers out. They cleaned up alright with some Murphys Oil Soap. Halfway through "Long Distance Runaround" four things were certain. I'm biased. The bass is decent, they do dig a little deeper than my Super Heresy. These lack the clarity and spacial quality of sound that any of the Heritage series do effortlessly. They are inefficient. Plugged the Supers back in. Experiment over.
  23. Not sure, I don't have any, never did. I'll see about getting it to you if you're interested:
  24. Some old four way or five way speakers owned by a professor at St. Andrews College in Laurenburg, NC. It was formerly Flora McDonald where my mother rode out Hurricane Hazel while she was attending. They were valued at $500.00 on the shipping label and shipped from NYC to NC in 1969. Our `72 Great White Buffalo (Chevy Impala) retailed at $3000 when brand new. Been boxed up since `81 & they're about two feet tall, 60+ lbs each, got a Pioneer Laser Disc Player with them too! Wooo Hoo! Anybody want that? Grilles are glued on I'll see about plugging them into the Marantz if I can ever get into the den today! http://www.vintage-speaker-review.com/2014/01/fisher-xp-7-speaker-review-and-price.html Yea the tiger lillies are done for the year, have to cut `em down now
