  1. The pair I've got has the CT125s. I switched out the K-42s and if I ever mess with the tweeters I'm going the SH 2 route. Good luck with that @mopardave
  2. Ah H*ll Thought since MI was right next to LA you might have them there @dtel! My old neighbor was from the lower part of LA and she was the one that told me about them a few years ago. https://www.jimnnicks.com/ Pretty sure it was a change in mgmt that caused me to stop going to the one here. Good Food, decent price.

    The Other Discs

Sure that you've been exposed to them... who hasn't? A Farewell to Kings is a strong sleeper of an LP!
  4. Jim `N Nicks is from down there-a-bouts isn't it? Their catfish sandwich or their sausage plate, or even the simple ribs............. The one down at the river here went bad a couple of years ago we patronized their joint! You're right, but I've got lots of cayenne pepper, tabasco, and I'm gonna text my brother he's still got a steel gut and has real hot sauce he could bring!!!
  5. Well it was marked down to 39 + tax and it was total Madden-ness that caused me to buy it! Was planning on just the two of us having it for two days, that's not happening now. Hey check their website, I got a decent price on it!! Only had duck a-la-orange at a french restaurant one time, you know a slice or two, a sprig, small piece of fruit and a drizzle of something interesting over the top, ya wait and wait, then eat. Kind of an oily meat but good. Just not enough. Then loosen your tie go to the closest burger joint and get a cheeseburger for less than you paid for one stalk of asparagus at the restaurant! Never went to one more hoity-toity restaurant and never will!
  6. Had this on cassette but it fits after the last couple of posts These guy were crazy-good for that alt-techno-dance music. Pterodactyl Club prime time!
  7. That seasoning on Blue Crabs is the BEST!!!! It was the first kind of Utz potato chips I ever had also. dtel don't fret, I was havin' fun and didn't. Never had terducken before, Madden on MNF is where I heard about it decades ago. Was too cheap to shell out for the whole bird version that has the cornbread stuffing so hush puppies ARE cornbread, and heck with my brother and family now showing up, it's not gonna be enough
  8. Turnip greens too, and she's making her Spice Cake, got redi whip for that....... some good dark rosted coffee. Not deprived bud, I'll be letting out my belt before both the games start tomorrow night.. *Wait, their reds and rice aren't any good?
  9. My speakers have the mumps
  10. What a Find! That would be the pair to get if interested like I am.... but no $ for that stuff right now
  11. I actually saw snowflakes and heard the sleet hitting cars in the parking lot where I was in the ten o'clock hour this morning. In the upper 40s I think then but it was cold a quarter mile up today here. Before that I saw something at the grocery store I had never seen before. Knew you could order then online. $65 for a whole one with the cornbread dressing, too much for my budget today. $40 for a 4 1/4 lb breast. Yeaaaaaa! We're having cajun tomorrow. We miss you John Madden and loved you for years. Get my football on Saturdays now. Got some Zatarans red beans and rice and hush puppies too! & Luzianne Tea ONLY allowed in this house!
  12. "Don't Worry, Be Happy" Don't have that Bobby McFerrin record, he played outside downtown for our first Jazzfest about thirty years ago when that came out. This guy played at Memorial Stadium a couple of years prior and they would not let him come back and do it again. The neighborhoods up to a half mile away did not like him in their Saturday evening like all of us did. We went to the park down the street, had our own refreshments and heard the whole show from there!
  13. On Nitrogen vs Air in the tires. I LOVE the nitrogen. I check the tire pressure the first of every month, every vehicle I've ever owned. I'll have a pocket full of quarters when I go out to do it. Until owning nitrogen filled tires for a while. When the pressure of cold tires not moved since the day before and not in the sun does not change for six months???? I quit taking the tire gauge out I just eyeball them and go!
  14. Was trying to be facetious! They're all actually organically grown, dirt and water....... There has never been a real explanation on display at any grocery store that I've ever seen. Asked a gal with a kind face once long ago, she said no chemicals involved with growing them. Ha! Like I'd ever believe that, there's no escaping chemicals anywhere on this planet anymore!!
  15. We had a tomcat here from the time I was about five until I was a teen. One drove my mother bananas twisting around her feet when she baked turkey. She kicked him out of the house once when he almost tripped her in the kitchen. When we sat down and started to eat that turkey he walks up the back steps, bird in mouth. Looks at her, plops it down on that top slab the other side of the sliding glass door and tears into it while it was trying to get away. My brother and I laughed she made me get up and draw the curtains it grossed her out! the Spanish inquisition
  16. This parrot is dead! It's not dead. It's only resting.
  17. Like the store that charges two and a half times more for "Organic" cabbage. Darnit all fruit & veggies are organic!!
  18. A job I had in the early 90s, the company owner had a Wisconsin Robin powered 4000 psi pressure washer. It had a dirty oil sensor and after x hours of operation that bad boy would just shut down until you put fresh oil in it. It's a shame if it's so simple to do, that it isn't required by the govt in cars. But that would........
  19. This will finish my excellent HEAVY Analogue Productions SRV stuff. "Family Style" This LP is not heavy tex blues, really more what I'd call boot shufflin music. Cross- genre appeal maybe, chillin' to "Hillbillies" right now! It's a decent listen no matter your musical tastes!
  20. Royal Purple all the way!
  21. Not substantially @SWL, it was like 2 - 3 mpg. To somebody who was taught to "set it up to breathe right" whenever getting a new vehicle this counts as good. Surgical cotton air filter does about the same, new plugs, "Real" ignition cables (Magnecor), non restrictive exhaust, good coat of wax. Possibly totals up to plus ten mpg if your very lucky! I'll never forget, when we would wait for hours to get gas in the first Great White Buffalo, dad said "when gas gets to 50 cents a gallon the world will end!" Only brainwashing I think I received is driving two blocks further to get gas 1 penny cheaper!!!
  22. Like others said I change the semi-syn at 4k anyways. My motor, I want it clean inside! Wow! That's a lot of oil disappearing from the motor, only changed the oil in Toyotas and Hondas for foreign cars but even ragged out never anything like that unless it needed a rebuild. Got a Warranty on that `16? Son of an accountant and a bookkeeper so after owning that 10mpg Charger for my first car I've always checked the gallons in to the odometer every now and then. When I did the change to syn on my chevy truck that had 50k on it I noticed an improvement in mileage right away.
  23. It's more slippery than dino oil. When you see the mileage go up a couple mpg without a change in your driving habits, you will be a believer too!!
  24. Not a mechanic. I am a male that grew up in south Charlotte, N ascar C ountry, that happened to have a master mechanic uncle. Very picky about cars and trucks around here. If you've always used dino oil in that engine, change it again soon with the semi or full synthetic that you are now using. That will keep the ratio of old oil in the crankcase lower. Never had a motor that wouldn't get that many miles out of it but I never owned a vehicle that long either. My vehicles that I put the Valvoline semi-synthetic in did run more smooth after a little while. That was only a low hp 350 in an `89 Silverado and a `97 Durango that I put it in immediately after purchasing. Valvoline or Havoline. There aren't any other choices.
