Hi, I'm sorry, I never thought I could cause some trouble among fellow members. I live in Fontana, 60 miles east of Los Angeles. I only take cash and pick-up only. I make preference to the Original Poster first. My family is leaving for a 7-week out-of-country vacation this Friday evening, so I'm not available for a while.

Fontana, So. California RSW-15 shown in this old picture.

----- Non-comestically speaking of course, which subwoofer did you like the best, the SVS or the RSW? ------ For music, I like the RSW-15 a bit better but I love the Ultra for movies. I like the PB2-Ultra overall. Maybe I can sell my RSW-15 for $600.00 or best offer, pick-up only.

Hi, I have an "extra" RSW-15, black, bought 8 months ago. A maple-finish SVS PB2-Ultra has replaced its space, (for cosmetic purpose, to blend with my other maple furnitures.). The RSW-15 is not anymore used and is now stored in my vacant room.

CAS, I had the same dilema. I used a very small screw driver (like the one used to remove screws in watches). You can buy them at Lowes or Home Depot for maybe about $3 to $5 a set. Have fun.

It's called a Rhapsody Metal wall sculpture. You can find it at http://www.wickesfurniture.com/product/group.asp?code=31

-------------- It appears the TV was put there to be center with her viewing area as you can see in the 4th pic. Only if that gorgeous fireplace was a little more to the left, then maybe she could move that speaker over and balance the front sound stage. Oh well, I would probably choose my fireplace over the sound too if it looked that well. The ever-going sacrifices we make for aesthetics. Leslie, I love what you have done with the place. Looks like a lot of hard work. I bet it sounds wonderful too... -------------- You're absolutely right. The TV was put there to be center of the viewing area. The fireplace just takes up a lot of space in the left area. By the way, the PB2+ is actually just temporary, it will be replaced by a PB2-Ultra in Blonde finish. The PB2+ will be moved upstairs into my game room.

Thanks to all your nice comments. With regards to the height of the RS-7s, its about 6.75 ft. high. Originally it was installed about a 1.5 feet lower than that but it was a distracting sight. With regards to sound comparison, my ear doesn't hear significant difference between the two heights. Even though the RS-7S are higher, the effects are still very clear and seems to be even less directional. The planter that I put above the PB2+ is not really as heavy as it looks, just enough weight to keep it from tipping over. The PB2+ in the corner sounds great and blends well with the rest of the system. It also supplements to the pair of ButtKickers I installed in my couches. The right RF-7 being close the side wall, surprisingly, hasn't really giving me any problems (need to set as Small). However, I noticed some problems when I set them up as Large. My cabinets are all custom-made, including the sofa table near my PB2+. They are all made of maple, in natural finish. First I bought my 65" wide-screen HDTV and Klipsch speakers, designed a cabinet around them, then contacted a contractor to build them.

(double post, sorry)

I think the problem is fixed now.

The picture above shows the RF-7s, RC-7 and a partly hidden RSW-15 The RSW-15 besides the sofa The left RS-7 with the wires hidden in a moulding An SVS-PB2 plus used as an end-table (opposite side of the sofa against the wall is the RSW-15) The partly hidden SVS-PB2 plus at the corner of the 2 sofas and the right RS-7 above A close-up picture of the RC-7 with a custom-made grill The RC-7, custom-grill off. The speaker is angled down. Not shown is a pair of Klipsch RCR-5 in-ceiling surround back (6 and 7th channel). Hi, I am trying to paste a picture in the body of my message, without making it as an attachment. I choose the "Use Rich Text" option and I found the "paste" button, but it didn't work. It didn't "paste" the picture that I "copy" from my photo editor. I appreciate any help.

I just bought a pair of RCR-5 from SoundDistributors.com for $384.00 (pair) shipped. They're nice speakers. I think your price is a bit expensive.

This is a test reply.

I will be buying the Klipsch RCR-5 in-ceiling speakers for my 6th and 7th speaker in my 7.1 system. Question: Do I also need to buy the install kit? Does anybody have any experience installing these in-ceiling speakers (Klipsch in particular).

Currently my 5.1 system includes RF5s, RC7, SS1s and RSW-15 powered by Pioneer 45tx receiver. I plan to add Quintet speakers as surround back speakers to complete a 7.1 system. However, I have some problems running speaker wires on the ceiling for the 2 surround back speakers. My questions is : What do you think the effect will be if I install (hang) the Quintet speakers on the same location as the SS1s (just point them to a different direction). I appreciate any comments. Thanks.

I really need your help on this one. My gear now consists of R*7s and RSW-15. I am going to buy either the Pioneer 45TX OR H/K 8000 receiver. I am using it for 75% music. I can also get a good deal on the Denon 4802. My old receiver died, so my HT has been quiet for the past few days. I need to get one soon (actually yesterday).

I have the DVD. The dialog is very clear although I don't know about LFE mix because I watched it in the middle of the night so I have to turned off my sub. I am not so impressed of the surround, I can mention some movies that does a lot better. However, the movie is nice and I'll watch it again.

This may not be the right thread to post pictures but I'll post here anyway. Finally my hometheater is finished (I hope), and here is my setup: RF-5 RC-7 RSW-15 SS-1 Kenwood VR-5700 (Receiver) Denon 1600 CD/DVD player JVC-cd player Technics SH-GE90 (EQ) This message has been edited by leslie on 05-25-2002 at 10:38 PM

I plan to put my new RC-7 (on ordered) to a small enclosed area in my entertainment center right on top of the TV. The area is about 34" x 9.5" x 24" (Width x Height x Depth). The RC-7 is about 26"x9"x12". So if I put the RC-7 on the center, there will be 4" open on each side, .5" on top and 12" space at the rear end. I plan to drill a 3" hole at the rear end for ventillation. Do you think this will be a terrible setup? This message has been edited by leslie on 05-08-2002 at 05:43 PM

Max, I am happy with my RF-5s (in maple and totally matches my custom entertaiment center). I already have SS1 for my surround. I am probably getting the RC-7 although I haven't really heard both the 3 and the 7 on how the sound.

I went to a local Klipsch dealer and inquired about the RC-7 center speaker. The dealer told me that it's an overkill, and I only need the RC-3. BTW, I have RF-5 as mains. In this case, what does it mean when the dealer said 'RC-7 is an overkill' ? How much difference in sound would I get between RC-3 and RC-7? Well it justify the $300 difference? I'm confused.
