  1. Thanks Justin for the smaller logos. I sure wish I could find someone to make one of those logos out of some nice oak wood that would be a neet piece. Also I wonder if somebody could make some stickers of the logos to put on the back glass of cars and trucks. What do you think, we could show we are proud owners of klipsch speakers when cruising around.
  2. Rest in peace PWK. I first heard your klipschorns when I was 15 years old, it took me 7 years to save enough money to get a set. I have enjoyed them for almost 20 years, and will do so untill the day I die. Thank you so much PWK. Friday in memory of you I am going to play a couple of my favorite songs on my k-horns and yes they will be cranked up load so you can here them.I ask that everyone out there do the same this friday, PAUL will be proud of us. Will miss you PAUL but never forget you. Thanks for everything.
  3. Hi people. I always read these post almost every day. they are so helpfull. I have a set of k-horns powered by a nice old g7700 sansui reciever I bought new around 1982. IM looking to upgrade my radio shack speaker wires to somthing better, thats my next project.Other than that I collect picture disc, I love them, I got a meatloaf bat out of hell the other week it is a great looking album.Futerplans I want to do is add a sunfire sub to my k-horn when I get the money.Keep up the posts, thanks all.
  4. My friend is getting a ht system and has the following speakers so for, quintets in front, center channel is a klipsch ksc-c1, and quintets in the rear for suround sound. He wants a sub for about 200 bucks. On ebay there is some jbl pb10s going in that price range. Is this a good sub for the price, or do you good people have any other subs in his price range that would be a good choise.
  5. Thanks Tom on the metric conversion. Another thing where in the plans does it show where the woofer hole is to be cut. I just dont see it. The new picture showes where it goes thow.
  6. Sorry to have to ask this but I dont know nothing much about the metric scale. How do you convert these numbers to inches. In the fist photo it showes 612 across what is this in inches and how do you convert it. these plans are good but I dont know about the measurements. To bad they arent shown in inches. Can anybody help a metric dummy like me . thanks
  7. If this guy has 1983 bose and k-horns still in the box I wonder what kind of stereo system and speakers he has out of the box and listening too.
  8. Hi frankie. Dahliquist is made in canada, up there were the very helpfull board member EAR is from. I have a dahliquist pdq-800, it is an 8 inch sub with a 50 watt digital amp, 100 watts peak power.Dahliquist also makes a 12 and 15 inch sub. This timpany sub I have not heard of, but seems to have somthing to do with dahlquist acording to the guy on ebay selling this sub.Anyway I have this sub in my ht, pdq-800 with 4 quintets 2 in front 2 in back.It does a good job on the movies, not as good on music though.I was looking for a cheep sub too, I got it on u-bid for 89 bucks, that was shipped to the door, for that price and the way it sounds Im happy as hell with it.I wish I could have got a klispch ksw12 but on a tight budget. The pdq-800 has been playing for over a year and no problems. The 12 and 15 inch dahliquist subs are pdq-1200 125 watts, 400 peak watts. And pdq-1500 175 watts, 500 peak watts. These subs come up on ebay often and would be better than my little pdq-800. Its all up to how much you want to spend. Im happy with mine and it was in my price range. Some day I will probably upgrade to the klipsch ksw12.
  9. Thanks Matt for your input. The way my entertainment center is built a quintet is to tall to fit into the spot above the tv. After measuring the opening where the center channel is going, I can only fit a klipsch sc.5 any other will be to big. The radio shack is alright but I think the klipsch sc.5 might and should be a lot better. Maby sombody on this board is using a sc.5 with the quintets and can give me some input on how it matches up. I am using 4 quintets, 2 in front and 2 for my surounds in back. The sc.5 is going for about 100 bucks on ebay. Maby sombody on this board might have a used one if the are upgrading to a better klipsch model.
  10. I missed 3, need to study hifi a little more. It was fun though.
  11. I have a dahlquist pdq800 sub. It is an 8 inch powered sub with a 100 watt amp. I have a sherwood rvd-6095 dolby digital dts reciever 65watts per channel. Im using a radio shack center chanel now and want to upgrade. Thanks for your reply.
  12. madonna the immaculate collection, and fleetwood macs greatest hits. These two cds sound great over my k-horns. Enjoy your new klipsch speakers.
  13. What klipsch center chanel would go good with a set of quintets? sc.5 or sc1 maby.Im on a budget, mayby would even buy a used one or an older klipsch model, if somone on this board has one for sale.I am a newcomer to this forum and really enjoy it. edsteer, horned, the ear, you guys are great. Thanks a lot you fellow klipsch owners and board members.
  14. I have had my k-horns for about 15 years I bought them new and stained them myself. The only thing I use on them is formbys lemon oil about once every 2 months. First I dust them off with a soft cloth. Then I take a clean soft cloth and aply the lemon oil onto the cloth. Then I wipe with the grain of the wood.Keep putting more lemen oil on the cloth as needed.DO not put the lemon oil straight out of the bottle and onto your speakers this can put to much on them at one time and spot your speakers. Aways put the lemon oil onto the cloth and then wipe it on the speakers and you wont have a problem. I have been doing this for 15 years and my speakers look great I use nothing else and I dont really intend to.
  15. Hey edster00. Which sub do you have the mk2 mk4 or the signiture, that you are going to hook up to the k-horns.IM interested in how you think this sub sounds hooked up with the k-horns. Let us know real soon. Are you going to use the speaker level inputs on the sub or line level?Im thinging about getting the signiture sub and hooking it up to my k-horns.
  16. Thanks for the help people. Soundog my sansui reciever is 120 wpc. It easily powers those k-horns and is a good quality reciever made in the early 80s.My speakers do have good bass response. But it seems like I have to turn up the music perty loud to get that good bottom end that I like. I figured if I could add a powered sub I could control the bass a lot better and get more of it than turning up the k-horns and getting blasted out. I listen mostly to rock music. Also it seems to me that a sub that is good down to 20hz should help the bottom end of the k-horns because they are only good to 35hz.
  17. HI. I want to install a sub to my k-horns. I have a old sansui reciever a g-7700. It has no subwoofer output on it or any pre out main in jacks. I want to hook this sub up so it wont affect the sound at all coming from my k-horns.I wonder if I can hook it up to my b speaker terminals on my reciever. This way I hope I can adjust the base volume on my sub to give my system some more bottom end.Im thinking about getting a true subwoffer by carver. Has anybody hooked up a good sub to a set of k-horns with an older reciever. Will it work or am I just wasting my money.
