  1. skip the sweetener and toss a sliced lemon in a pitcher of water because I keep water in the fridge, I have noticed that it will pick up the flavor of cukes, too. That is tasty, too
  2. stress is a killer it will make any little thing worse
  3. meat and associated fat are not bad. butter is good, too. Eggs? they're all over the place on them.... If ya like 'em, eat them. Fresh are much better. The ones in the store never saw each other before the carton. I do a lightweight paleo type diet. I eat what is in season. Is it coincidence that citrus is in full season at the height of the flu/cold season? quality of the food you are eating can make a difference. Folks think I don't like veggies. Wrong... I won't eat them if they aren't worth chewing. I'll eat a good tomato out of hand, like an apple. Store bought only works if I know who grew them. and DO allow for some "cheating"... stress relief. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I could make joke about my health going bad... right after I got married. Good thng I waited until I was 50+ to do that.
  4. if ya wanna really do something good for your health, eliminate stress.
  5. that's how my "sauce" is. 2 cans of diced tomato, 1 can sauce. Diced onion... peppers, mushrooms, whatever strikes my fancy point is, there are recognizable chunks of "stuff". mom used whole stewed tomatoes and crushed them. These diced work fine for me. If I was working with "real" tomato, things would be done differently
  6. that pitch looks like something I wouldn't try.... I'm not a thrill seeker.... got over that before I broke myself. I used to climb windmills at my buddy's ranch. Get all slimy in gearbox lube and climb back down the metal rungs. I didn't "ride" herd.I don't trust horses. Big and squirrelly. They can be your best friend, or kill you as fast
  7. your LF's space is just slightly larger than "the doghouse"... yeah... an expansion would be nice if you want much more than a nice set of bookshelf speakers. speaking of which I can get a pair of RB-81 II local. The person wants $300. Seems a little high. If I want to take a little drive, there is a pair of RB-61 II and a small sub in Phoenix for $200. Anyone have experience with these models? I seem to recall the RB-61 series being pursued further with a couple model upgrades.
  8. steaming works to removes skins Roasting them like green chiles would work, if you are gentle. Our weather allows us to dry them. And, as dtel noted, they are "strong"/concentrated.
  9. @erik2A3 did you sell the LaScalas? Those were pretty. Mine are the basic black... that's OK. Wife likes them
  10. we got wings ... because they were cheap. Necks had to be free Dad always ate the neck and back. Years later, I found out about the "oysters"
  11. ya can eat it w/o worry of burning yourself on molten lactate of cow
  12. cleaning up after the wild party dump the ashtray and take the used coffee cup to the sink. The neighbors did get a concert. We started with JeffBeck Live. I enjoyed it. Stuff the neighbors
  13. They pop up periodically. Be patient. Watch the GarageSale section, too. There was a guy [in Tucson] looking to sell a pair for $1500[?] a while back. We might have talked him out of it. WAF got me... "You already have some of those" she sez a lucky bunch of coincidences let me get mine from IN...
  14. my job was fun. didn't pay squat... but, it was fun A good mix of physical work and problem solving I have some spaghetti in the fridge ..... chicken in the sauce. It's a couple days aged. Prime. doesn't usually last this long lasagna is good any time. Love that microwave
  15. my sentiments exactly. The stress of wanting something [so bad] is more damaging
  16. is chicken safe to eat any more? Sounds like prep for Fugu. was that message by the Beef Counsel?
  17. that's why I made note of the wife being gone. by "crank up", do you mean more than 1/2 volume?
  18. their secret ingredient? I can't deny liking "the little old ladies"... trips to the grocery can be fun.
  19. ... and those girls we used to date turned into little old ladies. I've never been to a class reunion. Considering my class was less than 100, ya never get a big turnout. I'll leave it at that. I-19 was closed all afternoon, yesterday. Dignitaries.... Veep, Gov and Senator. They should have taken a helicopter. They basically stopped all traffic between Mexico and Tucson during their visit to GreenValley [the Cat proving ground. Ya saw that on TV]. The news dinna bother to tell us not to try to travel N/S. Turned the trip to Tucson into a 3hr one-way.
  20. if ya haul arse now, you can make it tomorrow. Figure 30hrs driving time. that's OK. She'll be gone the end of the month... for a few days. Class reunion in IL. Springfield
  21. being from IN, you can imagine the look on my face the first time I saw dried corn husks for sale at the grocery store. That was before I became naturalized. We are having normal weather. Dry. Musta been a bump in R/H overnight. It's warm this AM. Party at WillyBob's tonight. Wife is going to Tucson. Come on down and and hang with me and my buds... maybe smoke a few of 'em.
  22. AZ is almost as much that way. Not your right to bear arms.. it is your duty
  23. did ya hold a gun on him to make him feel better? that's a steal
