  1. that's one thing I really miss living in the desert. I can go to the lake and catch 9in bluegill. Those fillet. That's the best I can do. There is another lake. I guess it's about 75 miles and you have to pay to use it... StatePark. You can get catfish and crappie in addition to gills.
  2. from What About the Morgans? PETA stand for People Eating Tasty Animals topless? I'm for equality... Unfortunately, most who will take advantage are the ones who really don't have the "physique" for it. the weather models have come to some form of agreement. Both say we are going to get some rain. How much is a mere matter of magnitude. One calls for 1/2 -3/4in. The other calls for 2 or 3inches. 3 inches of widespread rain will cause some inconveniences. This storm is sposed to go into next week. They say that we might get some rain starting tomorrow... and here ain't Tucson. That 45 miles away. 5 miles makes a difference.
  3. Mornin' Folks! Drinking leftover coffee, again. This a "fresher" leftover. Made at 5PM last night. We might get some rain this weekend. A spent hurricane is headed this general direction. The forecasters are going crazy with optimism. I expect the ColoradoRiver area will see more than us. It gotta get a ways inland before we see it. The rain is always welcome. that it is Friday near escaped me.
  4. veggie burger? I cannot see how those/that meatless burger can be any good for you. By the time they process it to make it meat like.... Just gimme the damn cow and be over it!
  5. these are the only scooters in our town
  6. How loud do you want to play? You should be OK as long as you don't go crazy. the sampling/s on my [junk] keyboard seems to vary in signal strength/intensity and will rattle its on board speakers depending on "tone" used. Don't know if this relates to your Roland and setup you are using.
  7. I've heard of folks getting lost in wide open pasture... after reading up on french press, I'm drinking leftover from last night. a gasp from the crowd. shot yesterday cleaning the coffee machine, shower head [used the vinegar from the coffee maker cleaning] and chipping 15 years of calcium from the toilet. No wonder the toilet was slow. Took off a 3/16in layer. Time I spent, I could have bought a new one. I have a little OCD and it got the better of me.

@Coytee yes, you can munch on "raw" [roasted] beans. Chocolate covered expresso beans are easy to find.
  9. Make your ears happy, yes! If you are happy with what you have, stick with it. I wanted a kickbutt stereo on a budget. I'm in less than $1500 for the receiver and speakers
  10. Welcome! they will be good until.... I bought a pair of entry level bookshelf speakers. R15Ms Liked 'em so much, I decided to upgrade ..... to LaScalas and an H/K630 in one jump. And not horrible expensive. I set a budget and came in under. Must of done something wrong next upgrade might as well be pro gear... Don't hang around with these guys. They are a bad influence.A lot of fun, though
  11. Here's a scary thought... I might be "one of you" also.... There's a chance for me to try to blend in at the next gathering.
  12. I feel the same way. It not fresh unless it squirms on the pan. we have to settle for "fresh frozen". About the only fresh fish we can get, is to go to PuertoPenasco. Just a 4hr drive each way. Of all the things... wife wants sardines, when I go there. Aren't hard to catch. The trick is talking the "capt" of the panga that that is what I want. They do cook up nice, if you like oily type fish. I did some shrimp in the green chile sauce, too. That was tasty. Could have used a little more zip. The sauce was mild.
  13. go easy guys... I haven't had my coffee and that sounds horrible. got a decent end of the season storm yesterday afternoon. A good inch of rain, locally. Was a strange storm. Was so light out, that it seemed like the sun should be shining. Rain was coming in sheets and sideways. Told the wife to leave the little car at the school and get a ride. Road was dry until they got to town. Figures. got a Peruvian edge on this AM. These are good beans. Still prefer the Mexican. Busy month ahead. 2 weddings. Boy is going to Amarillo. Wife is off to IL. That one oughta be good. She attending a class reunion. Wife wanted "something light" for dinner. I made a "diet plate" for her. A portion of cod. A slab of lettuce. 1/4 of a red bell pepper, 1/4 of a cuke, a pickle and a portion of cottage cheese. So much "diet food" that she couldn't finish her "light" dinner. We had a chuckle over that. I poured some green enchilada sauce on the fish. Some ran into the veggies... I guess it make good salad dressing, too.
  14. swordfish. You would have an arm like Popeye to use a manual reel. Electric all the way
  15. with the diversity we have, weddings can be interesting Gave the kittens a bath, Fleas. They don't give much of a fight... the kittens, that is. Must be getting some rain heavy clouds. Sat is pixelating. Weather forecast called for a chance. We might get a little.... or not.
  16. plenty of "contestants" get the "quick trim" on beards and eyebrows. The guy in the sarong isn't forging. OSHA would have gone crazy on us at the bowling alley. We wore sneakers and seasonally, shorts and coats. Heating/cooling? Oh yeah.... heating in the summer and cooling in the winter.
  17. +1 on the looks good We would cook the corn mush a little harder, wrap the shrimp in it and call it a tamale 60` this AM. Feels a bit cool. I have a wedding to attend/participate in, in 2 weeks. I'm the "best" man. Should be interesting. Bride is Lakota. Bride and groom will be in traditional [Lakota] garb. I am expected to wear my sarong and robe. oh.. anyone watch Forged in Fire? One of the guys that judges the knives wears a sarong.
  18. you're right. should be a tall boy can of beer in the hole or a qt of colt45
  19. Brand specific, decaf or regular..side by side, yes. I'll bet you can taste a diff. can one tell non-alcoholic beer from regular, by taste?
  20. another ad Get instant results ...... in 10 seconds. Not that instant, I guess
  21. Mornin' All Winding up this bag of Peruvian. Next up Sumatran. Was half tempted to get some Kauai... one problem. It's dirt coffee.... ground. No like ground coffee. dropped $100 at the store and came out with one bag. $40 gas. $40 tobacco, $10 coffee and a handful of edible stuff. The gas will last for quite a while. The car doesn't [much] leave town. It goes to the dump [some day it will stay there]. Out to gather wood and, if I have time, to the lake. I do not recall the last time I fueled her up. It really needs to be run more than the 5 miles I give it. That's only when I go to the dump. I take a little cruise. The coffee shop and back. Wheeeeeeee. Used to get a lot of miles when I was working. Now I have to run it to keep the battery up.
  22. When they ask if I'm interested in ------, I ask if they are selling the car warrantee, zero interest credit, too and where is Karen?. She keeps calling. I keep thinking there is or should or can be a way to "interrupt" their dialing system. tbh I don't think it matter whether you pick up the phone or not. The systems dial every number.
  23. tarheel being awfully quiet. You OK, Chuck?
  24. and can't escape because your hands are stuck to the steering wheel.
