  1. They are designed for keyboards...accordingly excellent mids and highs, bass along the lines of a Heresy...many consider this model to be one of the best of the earlier pro stuff for home use, particularly when augmented with a subwoofer.

They imaged better than my stock '86 LaScalas, probably due to the well respected 2404H tweeter.

  2. By all means keep your eyes on all the usual sources for Klipsch (don't forget to search for Klispch, lots of misspelled ads...LOL)

Given your budget and preference for the vintage sound,  I would suggest you also consider some other brands that don't have the strong used market pricing Klipsch has; like Bozak, Electrovoice and Wharfedale.

You must audition to confirm if they are right for you, but some can sound very good and are generally efficient enough for your Marantz.

  3. yeah,  the upfront offer to double box and ship is a red flag...sorry guys, when I see H's for $300. I post quickly....

PS.  David Culver is the worst scammer...also very active in the Seattle area...Marantz receivers and Akai to reel to reels for $250. lately, burnt enough folks that there active ads warning of the scam on Seattle CL...

  4. I saw references in older threads, but I thought I would share the download links if anyone hasn't checked it out yet.

Great resource for older tubes, speakers and gear originally published starting in the mid 90's.

As an example, Quarterly #13 (out of 20 posted) has an extensive interview with Paul Klipsch as the lead article.
