  1. Ya I think I am going to call Harman Kardon soon. I want to find out at what average point I can expect clipping to occur givin my speakers. Hopefully they will have an answer for me. I would have to think they have some kind of benchmark test for receivers and speakers like they do for computers hardware. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  2. What I did was run component directly from my DVD into my TV. Then ran optical for the sound from the DVD into the receiver. To get on screen menu from my receiver, I ran a dippy little RCA cable from the receiver to the TV. Nothing special needed just for viewing the receivers on screen menu. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>

  11. I don't know who has it, but I can tell you who I would love to see a live DVD of and thats, ELO. Talk about a full spectrum of sound. Wooo, that would be nice. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  12. That would be a big YES! Use it as my rear channel. And just because I don't know all the various Klipsch speakers, we are talking about the RC-7 right? Reference Center? Just making sure is all. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  13. Yes, I have seen the wall papers that Klipsch has on their website, but I was looking for something different. Anyone have any cool images of the Klipsch logo. Say in the neighborhood of 800X600 or 1024X768. Or any other cool offerings? ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  14. So again, my receivers volume has a range of -60 to +5 or so. So are you guys saying then that -25 is NOT very loud? And that -25 IS safe? When a receiver starts clipping, is it obvious in the sound? ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  15. I want to push the speakers to the limit without blowing them. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  16. Very high? Ok, so is -25 high? That's about as high as I have taken ma babies... But hey, I will push'em harder if they can take it without blowing something. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  17. Ok so the volume level on my Harman Kardon starts at -60, and goes to I belive +2 or something like that. What would be the heighest volume level that I could saftly take her up to without fear of blowing something? Here's a link to the spec page for my receiver. Thanks m00n ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  18. Cool, thanks boa, I knew you'd come through for me. I will give it a try tomorrow. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
  19. Ok so seems to me that with the RF7s, setting them to large would be a good idea. I mean why not if they can handle it right? Now if I set my fronts to large, I get None, LFE and LFE+L/R options on the sub. After reading the H/K manual, I am still confused as to what the difference is between LFE and LFE+L/R. Can someone explain this to me? Also, if setting the fronts to large, my H/K gives a choice of two crossover settings, 40hz and 60hz. Of the two, which is the better choice? I tired to figure this out by looking at the specs(as suggested by the manual) for the RF7s but the numbers looked greek to my newbie eyes. Thanks all. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>

  23. Zan, when you email them, do you make the email title something meaningful? Something that they will recognize as being about home theater? I know that I get gobs of junk mail in my hotmail account. Personally, I check them all and then hit the block button so I don't get junk from that email address again. Guess, what I saying is that, if people are weary about their email and virus, most likely they are simply deleting the email without opening it up to read it. I know I do. ------------------ the m00n system FRONTS: RF-7 CENTER: RC-7 SURROUNDS: RS-7 SUB: RSW-12 RECEIVER: Harman Kardon AVR 520 DVD: Toshiba SD 3205 (DD, DTS) TV: Samsung 27" Flatscreen COMPUTER: ProMedia 4.1 c>Microsoft XBOXc> f>
