  1. Funny you should ask,my Tiger just kicked the sh!t out of my neighbors Pit Bulls
  2. Denon 2900,a very good for unit under 1k,imho.The 47aire can be had on ebay for 579.00 w/2yr warranty. An 800 onk is 600.00 on htf,a s2300 yam is 650.00,I think. The Denon for me has no bass management issue,or chroma bug(if it matters to you)I use it with the 3803 and it took 5 minutes to set up.Redbook cd sounds like high resolution on the 2900 to me.
  3. Dodger,as to the rf7,first I think is the sound. The 7's can sound fantastic, very impressive detail, with good source.Naturally good components upstream will make or break a spkr this eff. They also can go lower than you'd think with authority. They are not laid back(see B&W)so its best to use a warm amp IMO to avoid the so called harsh high's,which are mostly due to poor sources at LOUD vol.I have not had this problem but have heard of it.My set looks very nice(cherry),one small smudge in finish, they seem solid(after a year of mega db's) and the feet have not been a problem for me.As a stereo pair they are good,as part of the whole 7's set you will get first rate performance at reference levels,IMO. Now after Marksdad came clean on Bose,I must confess I also have a ten year old set on my back patio. They still work but are soon to be replaced
  4. Easy,I too am no expert,I am a bit defensive about my rsw.If your point was it does not do below 25hz as good as some,I agree, but it read different.I use this sub for music and 5.1 concerts,it is a leader in its class for that purpose,IMHO.I also think we have hashed it out enough, maybe we all learned something.
  5. Thanks Earsoma for an honest statement about the rsw15,thats what I said. YES,we know most avr's are limited in output and an ext.amp in my case made a real difference. My point, many avr's are "so called high current)so if a unit proclaims this its no big whoop.
  6. Hey all, thanks for the opinions .I just wanted to make clear I value your opinions. You all make good points. The statement, quote"NO Klipsch sub can go to 20 hz"is what really set me off. This was stated as fact, its not,I could not let it slide. Its been said many times the rsw15 does not do 20hz with authority,I can live with that statement. Then the rsw was thrown in with Bose and Sony .How, I ask, could I let that slide? If anyone has a gripe with the rsw, fine,we all know its factual shortcomings,no BS needed. It also has some very strong attributes imo.I do wish I would have titled this,Whats up with this BS,as its not the BB thats the problem.
  7. Easy Writer,I owned an svs sub,sent it back,cost me 45 bucks,GREAT HT,great company,I prefer the rsw15.
  8. EAsy Writer, please refer me to the article that said BOSE(AS YOU STATED) goes to 20hz.I think you really convinced me with the BOSE,SONY 20 OR 40?I only need PROOF these perform as you say.Forget the stand by my purchase routine,I buy based on what sounds best to me.My quote is in print by a guy I think may have more credibility than you.Again I'm not saying the rsw15 is the best HT sub,it is a great sub for music 5.1 concerts. It is a very good sub that I would not sell for the 1200.00 I paid for it.The rsw15 does 20hz at 97 db in the lab, like it or lump it,your statement is still incorrect.
  9. Hey EAsy,here's a fact,in the lab "the rsw15,one of the best measuring subs weve ever seen had prodigious low frequency output,it went all the way down to 16 hz in a 7500 cu ft room,in smaller rooms expect 2to 3 hz deeper extension and 3db more output."Tom Nousaine,Sound and Vision MAY 2002.NOW we all know that it is not 115db at 16hz,but thats not what you said.Yes there are subs that do 20hz better,I owned about 20,some of the forum favorites. The rsw15 filled the bill for MY needs,I could have had any I want.I could have spent half,I tried, maybe the performance for you would do,not me.As to you leaving this forum I would much rather you stay, state all the opnions you want.I like opinions, just don't dog the Klipsch without hard facts. Also which BOSE,SONY compares to the rsw,or the ksw for that matter? To the Latin aspect, an opinion is GREAT,two heads can be better than one.BUT what if I say Khorns only go from 40hz to 13k hz,is that an opinion?
  10. Frz,thanks. Easy, you stated that no Klipsch sub goes to 20hz,incorrectly. Kieth, correct. m00n,we all know you just want to help. Jhawk, good one. BBB,its always best to buy and try,if you don't like it,return it(buy where you can).I understand your points. dblue, correct, and you have the right to prefer any brand, others may be happy with the 2802.The point is thats your opinion as you hear it.At least you are not making blanket statements about ALL products. dodger, some good points. MOPAR DAVE,VERY NICE CUDA! Mine is a 74 E body 360,but it is all original, except wheels, which I have and 10 year old paint)Even the air cond. 39,000 miles,no rust, no dash cracks, never rain or snow.I love MOPARS!
  11. I have noticed as of late lots of far out remarks about different equipment.I read the rsw 15 won't even go to 20hz,FALSE.I read this "special avr" has high current,ALL half way decent avr's are high current.I read Denon is ok,just not musical, thats absurd and is only an opinion stated as a fact.I read the Denon 2900 has a croma bug,it does NOT.I read the 2900 has a bass management problem,IT does not,I own one and it exceeds all MY expectations with perfect bass on all formats. It would seem some people state things as a fact, that are not.PLEASE state this is only an opinion as some may believe it is fact.If a new guy /gal comes here for info they may actually believe the rsw is just a bose in a big box,it ain't.I really am not trying to offend anyone, everyone has the right to their opinion,as long as they don't state it as a fact, without any scientific proof. Some of the things that are said here go to other forums and are repeated as facts, when they are usually just opinions. There are many here more knowledgeable than me,with great advise on lots of subjects.I found these people usually state facts from a real knowledge of the question.A person can go to many sites and read alot of total crap, this site has been one of the few that has higher standards.PLEASE lets keep it that way.
  12. Just a note, the statement earlier that klipsch subs won't go to 20hz is NOT TRUE,do some research before making statements. Not that it matters but wild and crazy statements seem to be everywhere on this bb.
  13. It would be nice when people make ridiculous statements(ie.Denon not musical) if they would say IMO.You may think blah, blah, that don't make it fact, its just YOUR opinion, and you know what thats like.
  14. Now ain't we all glad we have Klipsch super eff.speakers.
  15. Ther is a HUGE difference in the 1803 and 3803,the processing and pre amplification are the important ones. The 3803 shares much in common with the $4000.00 5803.Either HK or Denon will be good w/Klipsch,check features, capability, watts are of nominal import.
  16. ---------------- On 5/13/2003 12:03:12 PM talktoKeith wrote: "Ear,did you not hear? you only need to stuff fill in the sony for world class(sony) bass, lol." You didn't expect $2000 woo***e for $150 did you? Keith ---------------- Keith, you are correct,no I dn't,I just could not resist gettin' the eAR fired up on the 40 (but he started it)
  17. Glad you got it going, its usually be best to run dvd(component) straight to tv,unless you have several sources.
  18. This sub is going to fill a gap in the SVS lineup and should be hard to beat at its price, let us know.
  19. I'm not sure but maybe the component output won't carry onscreen.Try s vid or composit and maybe m00n will show up,he's an HK man.
  20. I'm no wire nut but,Home Depot?.Also the statements that HK is some how superior to Denon leave me confused.I have owned both and it certainly is NOT,musically or features. If you got 600 bucks, get the HK,if you got a grand, get the 3803.As with most everything you get what you pay for.
  21. Well, the sony does have lots of lights.Best to buy where you can return it,just in case.Check audioreview.com.
  22. Ear,did you not hear? you only need to stuff fill in the sony for world class(sony) bass, lol.
  23. I think thats a great idea. You have a good pre/pro,with that amp and a quality player you should hear a nice difference.
  24. I only mention this because this is the Klipsch site. The RSW 15,20HZ AT 97db in a 7500 cf room, one of the best measuring subs we've seen,in a smaller room expect 2to3 hz lower and 3db higher,it went down to 16hz.Tom Nousaine, sound and vision. You may already have considered this ,if so please disregard.
