    Hi friends
My B15 burned one capacitor and i need to find out who he was.
I'm looking for the electrical diagram or a good soul who has one and could see or send me a photo.
I need to know the value of the resistor that connects to a specific capacitor. The resistor that cannot be read is connected to a 470uF 16v capacitor.
    very very grateful,
    Rodrigo

Not sure I can help but I have my amp out of my b15 right now. If you have a pic maybe I can look at my amp and see the resistor value.

I did not see any visible signs of damage but sub was making a noise like a loose connection. I plan on resoldering the boards when I get time.

    PZannucci,

I ended up finding a fantastic deal on a NAD 1155 PreAmplifier in near mint condition for $100.00.  What a difference it made in 2 channel.  I'm running a CD Player and a Record Player and this PreAmplifier gets out of the way and let's the Cinema Grand Power these speakers.  My low end thump is back.  It's amazing how good this NAD PreAmpifier works.  I'm going to start doing research for a Processor with XLR's for my 2 channel listening room.  Right now I've got these Chorus II's and the Carver Cinema Grand 5x200 connected to this NAD 1155.  I can barely turn this volume knob up a quarter of a turn before it'll drive me out of the room.  These Chorus II's sound like I've got a sub running with them.  Just curious, do people run 2 channel and a sub as well.  With these speakers, I feel no sub is needed.  I took my tablet with Tidal downloaded on it and connected it to the NAD 1155 with an 1/8" to stereo LR and I've set the gain volume with the NAD 1155 and use my tablet to control volume.  I've cancelled all weekend plans and will be sitting in this room admiring the simplicity of this setup.  Whatever Processor I do decide on will have to out perforrm this NAD 1155 to get a spot in this room.  These processors have their hands full.

If don't run them a sub you won't miss it - if you run them with a good sub you then go without  you will. You can't really go back once you heard it. I run my with a revel b15, love it.

    Sorry to hear that.

IMO, the overbuilt driver and beastly solid cabinet are definitely worth saving.

    Bill

Yes definitely and a space saver, but  I am not sure I want to spend money on an amp that is over 15 years. With today's tech. I think there are better, cheaper solutions.

Still sounds good running off my avr old hafler amp and still have some sub adjustment.

How do you like it.  I have owned mine for about 8.5 years and it has been rock solid.

    Bill

I  bought it from the alert section you posted  a few years back. 500.00 and picked up the 4 matching surrounds for 350.00 from the same person. Found the matching center on Ebay for 100.00 shipped, a little  beat up but they fixed up nicely.

The b15 amp started giving me troubles about 8 months ago so I am  running it with an old hafler amp. Nice sub but I have to decide if I want get old amp fixed or buy a stand alone sub amp. I am thinking maybe mini dsp hd?

Thanks for the alert I do like the sub!

Yes, Revel M20's on generic stands. Adcom preamp and an Mondial Acurus amp.

I have the matching surrounds center and a b15 sub. Came close to getting m20's but I like a larger speakers for  mains. Never hear them but they got great reviews.

Hope you enjoy your new speakers!

the badges are great , the seller only sells pairs ,  and no they dont match the originals 100% ,but  they are very nice ,  you will have to use the pair for a perfect fit -

Ok thanks for the heads up, I will have  to order a pair. I also have single badge floating around my house somewhere.

Thanks Budman, ordered a pair this morning.  Along with 3 yards of British style small weave cane fabric 😛
Hmmm, now to address the crossovers 🤔

Could post your impressions of badges when you get them, I need a single for a  chorus I. Thanks!

Yes, they call it MLV here (Mass Loaded Vinyl), and it is specifically used for soundproofing applications. You can read more about it here: https://blog.soundaway.com/2018/02/everything-you-need-to-know-about-mass.html

I stapled the MLV to the back of the frame as a backing, so yes, on the window side, with the acoustic dampening material (Rockwool) in between, and then the front covered with acoustically transparent material.

    I hope this helps.

    Yes helps alot, thanks!

Having been through this process myself, I would say yes, it would be advisable to build frames so you can pull the acoustically transparent material tight around it and place the rockwool inside the frames... here are a few photos of my process in case it helps.

Note: I also added some "Flexible Noise Barrier" (mass loaded vinyl) as a backing on some of mine that were  going in front of glass windows to try and stop some of the sound passing through the windows... 🙂

Interesting idea with the vinyl, I have a window where it could be useful. So thick vinyl tighly staped and what looks like vinyl side towards window?

    Thanks, Chris A.

Glad to hear the extra length of my CD s not a problem.  I had remembered your mentioning you had used your TD 4002s and those would probably have an even longer distance with the adapter required to fit the two inches diameter entrance but I would rather know than "find out" the hard way.

Yes I knew I would need to chamfer the ports to have as short a wall as possible.  Do you continue the chamfer to the K402's walls - seems like it would be easy to make a very sharp edge with that plastic.

Should one chamfer the side facing the cone with a "quick" chamfer or make it as long a smooth transition as possible?  Should one attempt to fill the area between the mounting plate and the cone?  Seems like this could be a good thing but difficult to balance with the ports requiring a small volume.  This is more of an afterthought.

Sounds like you are adamant that a good piece of plywood is sufficient for the woofer mounting.  This is welcome news.  That lexan is expensive.

I know you had the benefit of using the KLIPSCH box.  I will have to make one.

A few questions concerning the box's construction.

1.Are you doing anything unusual to seal the mouth of the horn to the box?  I figure some kind of dense foam gasket will be sufficient?

    2. I assume you are not hearing any noises from the box.  One wonders if the two woofers tend to eliminate some box problems - kind of like djk's PPSL bass cabinets?

         a.  Did you add any bracing to the box?  Are you hearing any need to worry about adding bracing?

         b.  Did you add any damping to the walls of the box like bituminous felt pads or something like that?

         c.  Are you doing anything to connect the walls of the horn to the box?  Do you see any advantage or disadvantage to attempting this?  Would there be any advantage to                  damping the walls of the horn since the ones I am getting is the lightweight version?  Again thinking of those bituminous felt pads the Brits like to use.

I will be using two of these in a music system.  I will not be asking them to go below 100 hertz.,  I am hoping this will minimize many potential box problems by  reducing the pressure on the walls of the box.

When I get ready to cut the ports I am going to send you a picture of where I plan on placing them and asking for your approval.

I have a few weeks of box making ahead and getting familiar with the horns AS IS.  I have yet to receive them.  Cannot wait to hear how they compare to the INLOWs.

Now to find someone who would like to have a pair of the INLOW horns.

Got the CRITES woofers.  Compared to the monstrous GREAT PLAINS 515ghps they look like toys.  Sure like the fact that they do not weigh what those 515s weigh!

Anyone know anyone who wants a pair of 515ghp woofers?

    THANKS, again, Chris A.

Would it  be ok to send you a pm, I have a couple questions for you. Thanks.
