  1. Rockhound, do you ever get down to Shreveport for any reason? I'd like to pick this up from you and I am very interested in the Groove Tube 4 pack of EL-34's. We're close enough there's no reason to ship, just don't know when I'd be able to make it up to Murfreesboro anytime too soon. If you're ever planning on coming to the shreveport area hit me up and I'll be happy to take the integrated and extra tubes off your hands. Btw, I'm picking up a pair of forte II's or a pair of Heresy II's tomorrow that i think would pair well with this amp. Any thoughts on the Jolida 302A with Forte's/Heresy's?
  2. Contacted the seller in fayetteville, said "it just sold" somebody apparently saw this b4 me
  3. That sounds like a good deal, neh? They look mint. Should I drop what I’m doing and rush down there right this instant?
  4. I did that the first time. For some reason it didn’t apply as a link. Edited. Someone go pick these beautiful ladies.
  5. Hope I’m doing this right https://lafayette.craigslist.org/for/d/lafayette-klipsch-cornerhorn-speakers/7029702435.html I’m guessing that’s how to share a link. Beautiful horns I think the post said ‘73. First owner hasn’t been moved from the corners of the room since purchased. https://lafayette.craigslist.org/for/d/lafayette-klipsch-cornerhorn-speakers/7029702435.html
  6. Yeah, I think the C-7’s will be great as overhead atmos speakers. I couldn’t imagine trying to mount a 20 or 30 above me. I would never be able to enjoy a movie. I’d always be looking up wondering if I was about to be crushed by a falling klipschbomb! I thought long and hard about all my options for a full surround system before circling back to the legend series. I’m familiar with it, love the sound, and now have the space and ability to do what I’ve been wanting to do for many years. Just gotta put in the work. I know I could buy a new reference series set-up and save myself some headaches but I would always have wondered about what might have been...,
  7. Hello all! As the title says I am in search of KLF 30’s or 20’s and 5, yes that’s right 5-KLF C7’s. Trying to complete a 7.2.4 theatre room. I’m located in northern Louisiana (Shreveport area) and I’m willing to make trips up to 3-4 hours depending on direction and deal. Would like them in decent condition, though finish doesn’t matter as I will be refinishing them all. Also as long as the cabinets aren’t destroyed, horns are physically intact and the bass drivers are in good condition I’ll be interested as I will be upgrading the tweets, mid ranges, and X overs with crites upgrades. I’m also willing to handle shipping arrangements if you can drop them off to a local shipping agent. Thanks all!
  8. Couple of questions for everyone. Is the horn driver in the cf 1,2,&3 the same as the cf4? Are there replacement woofers available for the cf4’s? Just trying to see the possibility of having a replacement driver available in the future should anything go amiss. I’m really contemplating going back for these, they had such a luscious tone on my pass aleph 30.
  9. Big thanks and shout out to forum member ssh and friend for having me over today and putting up with my dragging out equipment and cables and all the works to demo my new 30’s. Tons of hospitality and just plain ol’ good folks all around! Glad we could come to a good deal for all and get these beauties a new home where they’ll be fed tender warm watts of joyous harmonies. I’ll be posting pics and updates on my process of getting these and my original pair of 30’s prepped/repaired/upgraded/sanded/braced/relaquered/loved/hugged/petted etc., etc., On another note while I drove back to Tha Top o Tha Boot with my new toys all giddy a part of my mind, it seemed, stayed focused there in R-Kansas in the form of an EPIC set of Klipsch Epic series CF-4’s. My first rodeo with those babies and i’ll tell ya-They truly won the day. I see what the fuss is about. Somebody needs to jump on those. All drivers working solid and looking good. The cabinets have a couple blemishes-mainly the top of one as seen in the pic above and a little discoloration/lightening of the finish on the bottom edge of the other. I could easily live with the cab’s without having to be re-finished. Grilles looked great esp., considering age. The sound they pour forth is amazing. The positive hf binding post on one is a lil wobbly/loose. That’s the only thing even remotely wrong with them whatsoever. I imagine you could pop open the binding post panel and tighten it no sweat. Otherwise you guys have a perfect set of CF-4’s sitting in southern Arkansas ready for the scoop. Were I not trying to focus on an entire legend series theater they would be with me right now. Alas I have no xtra room in my house or my budget if I’m to finish this legend theater. You guys probably know more about what they are worth/going for than I, but the owner is a motivated seller that would prob take a grand to eleven hundred or so, which seems a steal when I look around at what they are listed for on various sites. Again my first rodeo with epics, but I tell ya they sounded heavenly. Hope someone scoops them so I can stop thinking about how to sell the idea of yet another pair of klipsch to the old lady and making another trip to Razorback country!
  10. I’m assuming from the offer up listing that all of the drivers are fully functioning? I’ll be sanding down to refinish so the scuffing on the cabinet isn’t a big deal, just wanna be sure everything’s performing sound wise.
  11. I will take. Pm me and we can hash out the details.
  12. Is this yours or are you just reposting an ad you came across?
  13. I’ve got the subs covered already. 12” klipsch reference already in use in my temporary set up. I also have REL subs available if I want to go that direction and I’m toying with the idea of picking up 4 of the RSL 10” subs that go for around 399$ apiece and are well lauded in the audio community. One for each corner of the room. 7.4.4 anyone? Anyhow I believe I’m set to get that second pair of legend klf 30’s tomorrow and audition a pair of epic cf4’s to see if they get a chance to come home with me as well. So- no takers on an all heresy system? I would have thought there would be some here that would have spoken up for that route. It appears that I was on the right path to begin with. Now to track down another pair of 30’s and 5 klfc7’s....,
  14. Northwest Louisiana. Gonna take a little time to get it all together, by then I should have figured out how to post pics on the forum here. If you’re ever in the area once I’m done pm me and I’d be more than happy to show the system off. Meanwhile I’m gonna be busy trying to get all of this together/set up.
  15. Hi everyone! I’m interested in forum members thoughts on the situation I find myself in diving into my home theater build. I’m a long time klipsch lover and hifi audio system geek in general. After tossing around the idea of doing an all paradigm or all canton HT system I have finally decided that I just will not be too happy without that classic klipsch sound. My delema is should I go with an all legend series klf 30/20 for mains, side & rear surrounds, with klf c7’s as center and atmos front and rear height speakers which is what I had resolved to do. I currently have a pair of 30’s and I am planning on procuring another pair of 30’s this weekend. So I’ll have 4 of the six towers needed to get started. Then it’s just track down another pair and 5x c7’s (which are far more shipable than the towers). On the other hand I also have the opportunity to pick up a pristine pair of heresy 2’s and 3 pair of heresy 1’s that are in beater shape that need a ton of work. No matter the choice I will be doing crites upgrades on all of the speakers legends or heresies. Haven’t had any experience with crites upgrades, are heresy or legend upgrades more costly? Will there be a timbre matching difference between the heresy 1’s and 2’s after crites conversion? Also what would be the best recommendation on atmos speakers for the heresies? Theater room is about 28x30. Would drive the system with pioneer elite vsx-lx503 and b&k separate amps (on 5 channels). Plan on upgrading to either an arcam, marantz, or anthem processor in the future and finding the best amps for whichever series I go with. The heresies are gonna need a lot of restoration work but are available now. Legends I’m gonna have to go through the headache of tracking down and picking up/get shipped to me. What are you guys thoughts on which route to take, and why? Has anyone heard both an all legend and an all heresy home theatre? I helped a friend years ago set up an all legend series theatre which was amazing and that was back in the days of 5.1/6.1. (He got a pair of klf 30’s after babysitting mine for me for a month or so, then completed the full surround system) Btw having two pair of klf 30’s as extra stereo sets if I go with the heresy option is no problem and I have the gear to run two separate audiophile stereo configurations on the 30’s. Choices, choices, choices... Any thoughts, experiences, advice you guys have would be much appreciated.
  16. This is an image I pulled of the web as my pics on my phone were too large apparently. Pretty much the same stuff ‘cept the spool mine is on is white not black.
  17. It’s speaker cable so I’ll probably terminate it with banana’s or spades. Sorry didn’t realize this was a picture thread- plz forgive the newbie. I’ll try to post a pic.
  18. Thx for the welcome! Stoked to be here with you fellow Klipschsters.., er..., Klipschiacs..., er Klipschanauts or whatever it is they call us. Yeah I’m definitely gonna use the straight wire somewhere down the road. I was picking up the pass amp and the guy had the speaker wire still on the spool. Looks like garden hose-told me to make him an offer, wasn’t sure what to offer- I just remember it went for a handsome price back when I was in the industry. He finally threw out a number that sounded extremely reasonable to me so I got to load that up with the amp. It’s a coaxial style speaker wire so terminating it may be a bit tricky for me, anyone here familiar with it? (Straightwire Encore II Speaker Cable)
  19. Got last week b4 becoming a forum member- Classé Four preamp for additional two channel set up & Klipsch Synergy f3’s for temporary duty as mains in my “for the time being” (hodgepodge) surround system. What I got today- pass aleph 30 amplifier (oh yeah baby, you’re coming home with daddy) & around 40-50ft?? Of bulk straight-wire encore II speaker wire that I have no clue what I’m gonna do with....,
  20. Hi there, I’d be interested in those klf30’s and I’m located pretty close to you being in Shreveport, LA. Is the 1100$ firm? I also have a pair of KLF 30’s employee purchased (I worked for a couple of A/V custom shops/retailers back in my college days ‘99-‘03 when the 30’s were current. If memory serves me correctly 1100$ is more than he got them for in the first place! 😁. Anywho I’m currently in search of legend series speakers to create a 7.2.4 system. I will be using my 30’s as mains, for rear and side surrounds I’ll use 30’s, 20’s, 10’s- whichever I can get my hands on, and finally C7’s x5 for center channel duty and as Atmos overhead speakers. This is my first post on the Klipsch forums btw- just getting back into my audio kick after 15 years of other things in life taking up most of my attention. Look forward to hearing back from you. Thx!
