  1. About another year of price cuts and these might be a good buy...
  2. These are decent drivers, especially for the price! I run two of these in 3cu.ft. sealed cabinets paired with RF-7II's for my music system with very good results. (Driven by a crown K1... they need a little power to get going.)
  3. I think most people are overpricing used Klipsch speakers these days!
  4. These might not be a bad option for someone... https://chicago.craigslist.org/chc/ele/d/chicago-klipsch-lascala-pair/7659678947.html
  5. If anyone is looking for these, they look like they are in good condition. https://chicago.craigslist.org/nwc/ele/d/harvard-klipsch-kp-320-speakers/7658170821.html
  6. I've never dated my speakers before, so I'm going out on a limb on this suggestion: May I suggest a nice bottle of wine to get the conversation going?
  7. Heading in the right direction.... Now take the $850 and divide it by 2 and you'll be in the ballpark for a mint set of 5.5 speakers with all of the grills and badges!

    Kg5.2

..at that price I'll take two!
  9. Holy cow..... huge price reduction! Save $4!!!! Only $995 now!
  10. I rescued a pair of 5.5's awhile back. I refinished the cabinets and upgraded the diaphragms. Plus, they had all of the badges and grills. The reason I purchased them in the first place is I just wanted to hear a pair of KG5.5's in my own home after many people on the forum said they enjoyed them. Well, they didn't sound any better than the current speakers I had, so I sent them on their way to the next Klipsch lover to enjoy.... and if I remember correctly, I didn't even get close to half of what this guy is asking. I see this a lot; people list something for a ridiculous price, hoping someone who doesn't know anything about the speaker will buy it based on reputation alone. But then they realize pretty much everyone has the internet these days and if they are even remotely capable, they can find out the approximate value of most items these days. Then, the seller, after sitting on the item with absolutely no interest, will slash a huge amount off the original asking price and pretend like he's doing everyone a favor!
  11. I know inflation has done a number on us the last several years, but wow! Full inflation price! https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1026813801783032/?ref=browse_tab&referral_code=marketplace_top_picks&referral_story_type=top_picks
  12. It would be nice if someone on the forum picked these up. I've wanted a pair of Belles since I had my first child almost 7 years ago... simply because of the fact that they can't poke at any speaker! However, they can still glitter it, marker it and add their favorite playdoy to the cabinet! These were very close to me as far as location, but just simply out of my price range as a teacher.
  13. I always find it entertaining while reading through the many differing thoughts and opinions in some of these threads. My 2 cents about the passive comments of those being concerned about them not looking right... Well, the two times I really noticed my passive radiators on my Forte II's; 1) When I placed them in my system when I bought them 2) When I took them out of my system when I sold them I don't know how some of you are listening to your speakers with passive radiators, but sitting behind your speaker in a corner staring at the PR is not on my recommended list of ideal listening spots. Maybe you're on to something and I've been missing out? Just a though! Happy listening.
  14. Not even bookshelf speakers.... a lot of my students are using airpods or sending it to some cheap bluetooth speaker. In one of the units I teach we talk about wavelength, frequency, peaks, etc. and of course, with my love of audio, I extend this part as much as I can! I always end up bringing into the conversation home stereos/speakers as an example. ( I show them the picture of my set-up with my old RF-83's!) Students used to relate pretty well when I would talk about stereo systems in their homes or ones they might see walking through the big box stores. You would see a lot of them make those connections and tell the class about the many times their parents told them to "turn that garbage down!" when they were playing their music too loud. Well, in the last 10 er so years, fewer students each year understood what I was talking about when I was referring to a "Home stereo system" as most of them just said they listened on their phones or they connected to a tiny bluetooth speaker (if) when they had their friends over. It's pretty sad that only a few students each year now will take the time to tell me about their parents cool stereo system. It usually starts off something like this, "In the basement my dad has..." Of course I thank them for sharing and try to encourage them, if they are interested, to ask their parents to show them their system in more detail. Also, on more than one occasion, I had parents email asking me what speakers I use in the classroom, as their child wanted a pair for Christmas or their birthday. Unfortunately, I have to tell them that it is a Dell 2.1 computer speaker system that came with the classroom computers when the school was opened in 2003! So I was thinking, wouldn't it be an awesome way for kids to see and hear their first "real" audio system and it be from Klipsch?!?!?! (and can anyone say years of free advertising to thousands of future audio enthusiasts??) Perhaps everyone that is interested in helping me with this on the forum can get together and figure out a way to raise enough $$ so I can have a small set of Klipsch powered speakers in the front of the classroom instead of some 20 year old Dells! Just a thought. Perhaps a B quality set of the Fives, R-50pm's, etc? Or, perhaps, if Klipsch wants to donate a set of powered speakers, I will provide my schools tax form so they can use it as a tax deduction! Maybe it's just a pipe dream, but I thought it would be a cool opportunity for thousands of kids to hear awesome audio in my classroom!
  15. He's posted them on Marketplace for $3,500.
  16. They have no internal x-over. They can be used as subs, or the woofer section in a 2-way, 3-way, etc. system
  17. It's a Glowforge, so you can look up all of specifics if you like...
  18. It shouldn't do any shiny/refective material like copper or chrome.
  19. This is from their current webpage. I'm sure it's changed over the years as well.
