  1. Hello, I've owned both. My 2 cents: If you're going to use it for just music: I would go Heresy (50-17,000hz) paired with a musical sub or two If you don't want to use a sub, I would go with the RF-82's (33-24,000hz) for a fuller low end sound... but you will lose a little high end definition If you're going to use it just for home theater: I would use the RF-82's. In a home theater, most of the critical content goes to the center and the subwoofer. The RF-82's are at the correct hight, so you wouldn't need stands. If you're going to use it for both: I would go with either or... as long as you pair it with decent subs.
  2. Maybe it was a typo....perhaps he meant to hit a "1" instead of a "7". $1500 would be a little more down to Earth. 🙄
  3. Interesting.... I guess putting a dual 6.5" woofer system (66 sq in surface) in the Kanta's against a 15" woofer system(175 sq in surface) in the LaScallas, you would hope there would be some difference. But what differences are you going to hear? Loudness... obviously the LS would dominate. However, I and many other people as they get older (and hopefully wiser) are more concerned about quality and detail. A better comparison would be the Focal Sopras with dual 8" woofers. (100 sq in surface) My opinion is that they look a little too modern for my taste, but the sound....oh wow!
  4. If you can find a pair of used Focal Electra 1038Be speakers, buy them! The listed for around $12k and I'm still kicking myself (Mostly because of my career choice as a teacher and these not even remotely fitting into my budget) for not buying a pair several years ago when they could be found new, on clearance, for around $6K. An audio buddy of mine has a set and they sound phenomenal in his listening area. They replaced his trusty Forte II's (I know you said you had 1's and 4's, but at least his Forte II's were very similar to your Forte I's) I just wish I could have been there the day he got the Focal's to do an A/B comparison... but no such luck. However, he said he no longer has the Forte II's for a reason and he doesn't have buyer's remorse. So, take that for whatever it's worth. This is a stock photo from the web...
  5. Looks like a nice pair for a refinish project for someone out there.
  6. Uh.... yes you did. Apparently you can't remember very well. Look below. I can't argue with stupid. Please don't contact or comment on any of my posts from here on. Thanks.
  7. There's someone on OfferUp in Aurora, IL that has a pair. He has them listed at $600. (Way over priced) Both top woofers have creases and the cabinets look like they could be a little rough. They've been for sale for 2 month now. Go figure, no one in their right mind would pay $600 for the set.
  8. This just lets your ignorance shine! You have zero knowledge of my past audio experiences. I've had many systems over the years...dating back to my DJ system in college that consisted of four 18" EV subs powered by two Crown Macrotech 2400's... so I know what chest thumping bass sounds like. I also currently run 4 small 10" velodyne subs in my home theater and know what well balanced and equally distributed bass sounds like. I'm sure your systems sounds and looks great to you. I was simply commenting on the ridiculous setup of the one photo.... clearly not an ideal setup. I am not a fan of a ton of speaker/audio gear cluttering up my space. To me it seems like an audio gear pissing contest... and I don't play those childish games. If you know what you are doing you can get away with a lot more than half of the audio gear in small to mid-sized rooms. One 18" should be able to blow you out of this world if built and setup properly. Two 18's even better, because they are working less to create the same amount of sound and can be placed around the room to help even out the bass. However, there is the law of diminishing returns when in comes to the amount of subs you cram into a room. Anyway, good luck with your future audio endeavors... I still thing you can cram some more gear into your space!

  10. Yes, It's back on the market. I just didn't want to pass on anything not working correctly. I also fixed the remote. It turns out it just needed a good cleaning. I took it apart, cleaned it, and it works good as new now!
  11. And breathing on old Intellivision and Nintendo cartridges!
  12. Oh my goodness.... the pounding on the unit worked!!! Thank you!!!!
  13. No, as that function doesn't work on the remote. I actually just accessed it using the front control panel and it is up...same as the other surround channel.
  14. It has the 5.1 surround channels on.... one surround left channel works and the surround right doesn't. I tried in in 7.1 channel mode and the surround back channels work as well. I'm guessing that means it an amp issue
  15. This is no longer for sale as I think it has an issue. When I did the demo for a local buyer, one of the surround side and both back channels didn't work. Grr. Any suggestions?
  16. I bet an amplifier needs to have at least 1.21 gigawatts to get it going that fast!
  17. Yes, that was my doing... typical middle school antics! Thanks for noticing!
  18. I know that. Plus there are many other/better options out there as well. However, some people are very detail oriented and may want to restore speakers to 100% original. This way they can proudly say that every single piece is original Klipsch. I have now, free of charge, provided them that opportunity. Please go rain on someone else's parade!
  19. I can't think of the official name at the moment, but these were from the bottom of my KG4. I know they are used on many vintage Klipsch speakers. This is a great opportunity to return your Klipsch speaker to 100% original condition! They are free to anyone that wants to pick them up or I will ship them if you cover the cost of shipping. location: Big Rock, IL 60511
