I was using 5 Heresy 2 and wound up using KG.5 for rears. It’s a small space and they made more sense. I can’t recommend what I haven’t heard. Just my experience.

Thanks for all the response to the posting. I’ve been out of town so apologize for my late response. I think I found what I’m looking for, and more. Going to head to the Lexington, KY area in the next couple weeks to check a few different pairs of speakers out.
Let us know what you come up with! Safe travels!

Most of the Transports in EVERYONES equipment are Panasonic
At least they were years ago when I looked into this
I’m inclined to agree. Panasonic/Matsushita(sp), Sony, Pioneer, and Teac seemed to have the CD-ROM market cornered back in the day.

I know you said without screws…. Put slant risers on them backwards and use a small discreet safety cable from one of the rear cover screws.Or you could even screw through shelf into risers.

I’d try cleaning it for sure.

That era the serial number should be stamped as well as on labels. Unfortunately labels fade after 40+ years.

Heresy for such a small space will be more than adequate.

I hear that rumor.

I had pops a couple times. Once over driving some KLH. And blowing up a Citation 16, which took a woofer.

Probably not, but would hate to miss out on something great over last 45 years! I see you’re in Smyrna…I’m in Marietta.
I’ll let others chime in on updates although as @OO1 mentioned crossover update would be a refresher. If you can solder order a kit from JEM and rebuild them yourself.
as for Smyrna…. Luckily I’m just in unincorporated Cobb. 😉

Sounds to me you like you don’t need updates!

The guy doesn't seem very tech savvy. I have a multimeter so I'll have to test it. What should it read impedance wise?
As to the tweeter working, I thought it was. It may not have been or was and when the guy transported it home something came loose or a component gave out when he fired the speakers up at his place. They hadn't been used in some years.
Always good to check and tighten all connections on the crossover. I brought home a pair of LS that developed a tweeter issue that was simply a loose connection. Good luck!

$3000 range seems fair pending physical inspection. Which is highly subjective. I’d start no less than $3500 and maybe a local will jump. I’m not ready for a Khorns yet or I might be interested myself. Good luck!

I use Velcro! Don’t put extra holes in your speakers.

Agreed! However, if running a Heritage center speaker (e.g. La Scala) in a Home Theater setup, one might consider two of the new Heritage subs to give a more balanced aesthetic! 😉
Well 2 subs are definitely better than one! I always say the best stands for Heresys are subs!

I have multiple setups and 2 of them have the equipment on the side rather than between.
