  1. Shhhhh @JohnJ. We ALL know how he is by now. It's those lil thingys he picks up on that the rest of us take for granted. 😂💪😂
  2. We're all starting to sound like a gaggle of old geezers. Remember when ya heard "old" ppl talkin about how great Guy Lombardo and Libarace were and scoffed? Sounds like we're all in the on deck circle waitin our turn to bat. lol "All in all, you're just another brick in the wall."
  3. @MicroMara been there, done that, got the t-shirt AND the coveted bumper sticker! The struggle is real the older you get. Keef Richards ain't got nuttin on me! Gotta have goals somehow. lol

Oh Imma a reading and smirkin just a tad. Thing with me is I've always looked for that "easy" fix for diabetics. Youngest daughter was a baller while in college and at 28 she's still rock solid. Drops a 5k and just breaks a sweat and I look at a quarter mile oval here in the hood knowing I wouldn't make it 50 yards. The past couple years I've started watchin what goes into the pie hole. Something I should have done 20 years ago when I found out "why" I felt like crap. Today, I'd like to think I'm eating better but there's always work to do to keep that A1C in check. That's the crazy thing about it all. Afib surfaced during my divorce so had a couple ablations done and now on the 4th pacer which isn't good when you have half a heart left to play with. Enjoying the read but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Still preachin I'm gonna out live Keef but that remains to be seen. lol Enjoying the read though and agree w/the thoughts in many ways. Thanks for the enlightenment cause in many ways it's uplifting. Goals, gotta have goals! ALL endocrinologists should be required to go to Army Drill Sgt school then they can lock heels and take no prisoners. The good ones are hard to find in the "system."
  5. Looks like some rain tomorrow evening around here but then right back up into the low 90's give or take 5 degrees. Youngest daughter was even whining a bit the other day about the Phoenix temps. Guess they're baking bread in the mailboxes. Throw it in, close the door and it's done in 4 hours.
  6. Just finished this play up by Nils Lofgren and it's a great lp. Well put together by one of the best in the business. 40 years and just a guy in the band. Course the band is Springsteen so there's that. It's smooth, slick w/great solo vocals and darn impressive imo. It's over before you know it. Check it out and you make the call.
  7. @Marvel I'm seeing this in 1971 where they played w/Joe and the James Gang, which makes perfect sense to me. James Gang, The Paul Butterfield Blues Band at Arie Crown Theater in Chicago, IL, USA Friday September 10, 1971. I KNOW I brought this album back w/me cause it's the first one of theirs I had. We ALL brought 'em back cause free is always good! Their version of "Spoonfull" is killer. Perhaps it was ready for release in September and dropped at sometime early 72. Dunno. Looks like the theater is still there and open. I'm sure it's been renovated since then but it all sounds about right to me. Did a lot of road trips following Joe and the gang so there's that. Now I did check something else on google after I got to thunkin a minute. Joe left the James Gang "in late 1979" so maybe Joe was there or maybe he wasn't. I honestly can't remember but the James Gang continued to play for a couple years AFTER Joe left. I may have loaded up because even though Joe was gone MANY of us were family with the Gang and continued to follow them. Dunno. That's my story and I'm stickin to it! lolol
  8. @Marvel nope that wasn't the place. When you said it was open I wondered. I was thinking there were seats but an open area in front of the stage where they marched around. I just checked the Golden Butter lp I got that nite and it was an Elektra release from 72, which was after that place you went to closed. You lucked out again we're not related! 😂
  9. I was prolly holdin down a tour box or something but he was marching around and people were going totally nuts marchin with him. The place was indoors though for sure. Maybe not there but somewhere.
  10. It was a 3 maybe 4 story yellow brick high school on a corner. It was a little ways from his house I think. He had me so lost I just kicked back. The street in front of the school was named after some rocker. I wasn't taking too many notes just enjoying the ride. Thinking it was after my Danley back massage at @ClaudeJ1's place. Felt like I was the sound test crash dummy again after that. Been there done that and got busted by my dad for messing up the TV somehow. roflmao Reception here in Duckburg STILL sucks!
  11. @Marvel I saw Paul Butterfield right after or just before his "Golden Butter" release somewhere in Chicago. It was an insanely great show cause they were marching all over the place singing. I've seen BB so many times I can't even remember but only Butterfield that one time and BB may have been there that night. It was a rough nite i do know that! hahahahaha NOW ya got me wonderin. That's crazy! Maybe we were related in our first life! 😂 Ouch, Hooker is doin that one burbon, one scotch & one beer on that lp rn... Killin it! lol
  12. Gotta watch him @Invidiosulus he's sneaky like that! 😂
  13. @Marvel wait is that place an indoor venue?
  14. @Marvel think I"ve heard of that place before but haven't been there so dunno. How'd you know to come in here anyway??? I've been looking for that new Molly Tuttle lp I just got a couple weeks ago. It's here somewhere. GET OUTTA MY HEAD! 😂 😂 😂
  15. Runnin outta time and what to play. That's gonna be a tough one to beat. It really is THAT good! One of those darn German pressings from the land of @MicroMara. Ok, that's it, 7 foot-long piles standin on the floor and I can't find a couple new ones that I just got.. May as well stay in the blues so unzipped this one. Fremer's new Tracking Angle site sums it up pretty welll since wiki didn't have much: https://trackingangle.com/music/john-lee-hooker-alone-at-hunter-college-1976 I saw one comment about noise but I've heard nothing here on my copy. Yup, all alone and pretty darn good!
  16. Sharin the love in mah hood. This has GOT to be raisin eyebrows! What a jam! King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and is one of the most influential blues musicians of all time, earning the nickname "The King of the Blues", and is considered one of the "Three Kings of the Blues Guitar" (along with Albert King and Freddie King, none of whom are related). King performed tirelessly throughout his musical career, appearing on average at more than 200 concerts per year into his 70s.[10] In 1956 alone, he appeared at 342 shows.[11] He just shines on this album. ALL him throwin it ALL at ya. IF ya can't catch a groove to this one you're prolly dead. My LS are smilin as big as I am right now after flippin to side 2. WOW! ZERO trash on this lp. It's ALL HIM killin EVERY note! A double thumbs up if you're a purist! Crank it up and let it ALL go! To make it even better Cbus sports just reported that Michigan Coach Jim Harbaugh is slapped with a 4 game suspension for something! No volume so clueless. 😂 I'll just tell the cops if they show up I was just celebrating! 😎 GO BUCKS!
  17. Hooker & Carlos? Time for me to take a ride after all that domesticated stuff!
  18. Blah, sweeper's out and I'm on a misson. Gonna unzip a few but now while I sweep. Kinda defeats the purpose. Gonna git 'r done and take a well deserved break. Did I ever tell ya about just how much crap hides on a persian rug? Sheesh! 😂💪😂

    Diet

@RealMarkDeneen sounds interesting my liver could use a rest! Nah, diabetic and fightin it every day. Talk to me and don't be afraid to skool. My sister does nothing but keto and she'd preach but Imma not listening to her. lol Gimme, gimme oh wise one! lol
  20. Yup, Neil took a couple of us past the school one day when we were up there about 5-6 years ago. Seegar Ave now maybe? Sumpin though. Bob would slide down here and play Cbus a lot and that's where I met him. Mark always told me that someday he was gonna play w/him and by golly he did. We STILL laff about that when we bump. He ALWAYS reminds me of that too. lolol They'll never quit.
  21. @Full Range I had to. Crazy. Knew I knew the song but those guys nailed it in a different way. Not a word outta you either @MicroMara cause we ALL knew she put you to sleep every night back in the day. Almost like Diana Krall does. NOT! 😂
  22. @babadono you're not related to Claude & Neil are ya? Asking for a friend. Thought you were from up that way just wasn't positive til now. Ohio did do ya a solid though when Mark Chatfield joined Bob and the boys. Got a heads up a couple weeks ago and he's gonna start workin with his old band "The Godz" here in the Columbus area doin some shows. THAT should prove to be interesting in a good way. All these old guys steppin back but they're still gonna play birthday parties & smaller gigs if there is enough money involved. lol Now back to our regular programming Tony Bennett. Sorry @ClaudeJ1!
  23. Tony Bennett as well as so many others had some serious class. They'll never die. Simple!
  24. I knew everyone in every Motown group on the planet. There weren't 50 white kids in the place on any given Sunday. Every ONE of us was there for the same reason whether we were black or white. To get a groove on and that we did. CKLW cranked on the way home sangin along. Many times solo and once in a while someone would disappear and go with me. To this day I can't understand why NO one would go to Woodstock with me. Sheesh! We'd have made it home someday. 😂
