  1. I could also use some help with the mfg. date on a pair of cornwalls that were given to me 19t615 & 19t614. This would be my second pair the first are from 75 I picked them up for 100.00 they were also my dads but had to rescue them from my uncles garage.
  2. Simply Stero in Hoffman Estates,Il Have the new k-Horn on display. They sound fantastic.
  3. Well I went ahead and put the tweeters in the cornwalls and have had no problems and they sound fantastic thru my new system. At 50 w / per chanell I turn it up about a third of the way and it is plenty loud for my small place. Now I hope I have no other problems. I miss home theater with out the hereseys now. Ya just cant have everything can you.LOL 2 Chanell system Jolid 302b roksan kc1 Home theater Marantz sr 7200 toshiba sd 5700 Cornwall Front Hereseys Rears RF3 II Center Boston pv 1000 sub Catch ya on the flipside
  4. Go with the cornwalls if placement is an issue.Klipsch and tubes work very well.
  5. They may be chorus II at 12 years old and have a passive raidator and will not work well aginst a wall. If not either will work .Bring your amp to the store and give them a test spin you will love them.
  6. So what do you think ? If I use a lower power amp it would be safe to put the tweeters from my hereseys in the cornwalls while the cornwall tweeters are out for repair? The last thing I want is two pair of smoker tweeters. By the way I ditched the Anthem amp and picked up a Jolida 302b w/sovtek EL34 wxt tubes. I heard this was a good place to start for a first time tube experince. I guess there are also many mods that could keep in the fun for a while.I also picked up a roksan kc1 cd player witch right out of the box was a big step up from the toshiba sd 5700 dvd player I was useing as a cd player also. Right now I hooked them up to the hereseys and it sounds great. but I am itching it try it out on the cornwalls. Its to bad I got home late with the amp I could not turn it up very loud at all. peace out on the good foot!
  7. Yes I am also worried about blowing the tweeters from my hereseys if I put them in the cornwalls. I have only tested it for long enough to see if they worked in the cornwall but have decided to wait to see if there could be any other possible problems before doing anything longer. One thing. I thought I had heard a small noise from the tweeter when I hooked it up. I could be wrong the speaker was not hooked up to an amp at the time. Could this be possible? thanks for the replies so far.
  8. Ok I took the tweeter out of one heresey and put in the cornwall and it works fine through the marantz (just to be safe) should I leave it in I prefer listining to the cornwalls. I use the hereseys for surrounds.
  9. OK That I did not know. I will hook the amp up to a marantz sr 7200 rated at 105 watts per chanell. I was thinking of tradeing in that amp anyway for something with tubes for music.I used that that amp when I had these other speakers. The sound was better through the amp for music than the marantz so I used it I knew it was over kill just not tweeter kill. The cornwalls were built 1975 type b crossover the hereseys 1982 type e2 crossover no protection in the cornwall I dont know about the hereseys. thanks for the info.
  10. Its like I said They have not been played loud at all. I live in a condo the neighbors would call the cops I know they did the one time I did play them loud. Any way the hereseys are hooked up to the same amp and the tweeters in them are fine. Is there any other reason the amp would blow the tweeters in only the cornwalls while being played at moderate levels? Could it be something else ? At any rate it looks like new diaphragms again.
  11. Yes. My sanity went with the tweeters. The only way to restore my sanity is to replace the tweeters.Or better yet part out the cornwalls and get some k-horns. HELP IN TWEETERVILLE !!!!
  12. YES!!! The major life decision. If I only knew.
  13. I am useing an anthem mac 5 series 2 amp 200 watts per channel. The hereses are also hooked up to this amp so far without any problems. Great plains auido installed the diaphagms. Could a bad installation cause them to work for awhile and than fail ?
  14. A quick question about the tweeter(k77)in my cornwall. I recently have had the diaphragms replaced (5 months ago) and the went out again. the have not been played very loud at all. I pulled them apart to see if the leads were still attached and they are. Then I put one in on of my hereseys and it did not work. the question is what is causeing them to not work. should I try puting the tweeters from my hereseys into the cornwalls. Is it possible there is a problem in the crossover? I dont know I have to take A deep breath I am sure you all can help. thanks
  15. I saw on on E-BAY just today.I would gut it myself but no$$$$.
  16. I have cornwalls I. NO I have not heard any mush. I also have picked up a pair of hersey this past Sunday. They are brighter up top and the base is much deeper in the cornwall.Back to the heresy I just got I beleive they are heresy I ? s/n 147x428 & 147x425 I could use some help dateing them. Also I took off the back panel you know to make sure everything was ok and found a K52H mid horn and K22H woofer this I did not find on the cut sheet for either heresy I or II. Can any one help explain this?
  17. Thanks for the reply. I will send them out to great plains auido. The cost $15 for the repair of both tweeters $22.70 ea. Diaphragm. I can't wait to get them back.
  18. Major bummer.I powered up my system and found that the tweeter in the left speaker (cornwall I) was not working. Is there any way a k-77 be repaired. If so, where. If not what is the recomended replacement ?
  19. Thanks for the welcome. I am happy to say the drivers are fine as well as everything else with the cornwalls. They sound great! They do sound a bit harsh up top with a few things I have listened to though. I think it will take me a long while to decide if I would tweek them. Mabey the next pair. I would not want mess with the only ones I have. But will keep in mind the options. thanks again. 20. I have had the SR-7200 for a few mounths and have had no problems at all. The best bang for your buck I think.
  21. I just got my fathers cornwalls back after he gave them up about a dozen years ago to his brother (my uncle).I had to hear that sound from when I was younger. He had them in his garage. When I found out I ran over there (in the garage ????)He gave them up for $100.00. They are in pretty good shape all things considerd. My dad can not remeber what year he bought them he thinks 1980.s/n 6n971 and 6n970. Can any one help date them? Also If I wanted to buy replacement drivers and so on (for back-up you never know)where wound I look?
