  1. It sounds awesome. We watched the fast and the furious and it was incredible! I watched scenes from Star Wars Episode 1 and Gladiator and I could 'feel it'!
  2. The pics are under the message. You need to click on it and download it to view it. Since they changed the message board, it is not as obvious...just look a little bit more. Your system looks cool! How do the Heritage and References compare in your opinion?
  3. Has anyone ever seen one of these before? It is an M&K MX-1000 with dual 12" woofers! I picked it up used at a high-end shop yesterday.
  4. Check out the sub I picked up used yesterday! M&K MX-1000 - dual 12" woofers. It goes very low...
  5. Where can you buy the calibration DVD? (I have the same TV)

So tomorrow I go to Ulitmate and get my New Mitsubishi 65" Widescreen HDTV! Model number is WS-65869, and man this TV ROCKS! It's HUGE! The new model of this just came out so this one is being discounted hugely! From $4999 to $3799, and I get an additional $300-$400 off that price. Now my progressive scan should work, I'm thinking of taking the Denon back now though, I may be able to notice the Chroma Bug with this TV. Maybe pick up the Pioneer Elite DV45A. We'll see. Man I'm so excited!! This new TV, and then my SVS should be here in a couple weeks, I'm in HT HEAVEN!!! Thats the TV I bought and it is awesome! The HDTV receiver will only decode airborne signals though! My cable provider does not broadcast in HDTV and the Satelite companies require the purchase of one of their receivers. The HDTV signals through the air (with rabbit ears) are awesome...far superior to progressive scan DVDs ------------------ Klipsch Cornwall - 1981 Klipsch Heresy II Yamaha RX-V1 Mitsubishi 65" HDTV (WS65869)

Anyway the last thing I need is another remote to keep track of. The remote for the RX-V1 will suffice as it will operate almost anything you need it to. Thanks for the heads up though. Are you using 1 or 2 Heresys for front center channel? Where you able to program your Yamaha remote to work with your other equipment? Johnny I just bought a pair of corwall 1s two weeks ago (for under $800). After listening to the new RF-7s at a local dealer, I do not think there is any comparison...the Cornwalls are far superior. I bought a Yamaha RX-V1 to drive the system. You can see my system in odds and mods. The Cornwalls are awesome!!! ------------------ Klipsch Cornwall - 1981 Klipsch Heresy II Yamaha RX-V1 Mitsubishi 65" HDTV (WS65869)

You owe it to yourself to take a listen if you are thinking about buying new speakers! ------------------ Klipsch Cornwall - 1981 Klipsch Heresy II Yamaha RX-V1 Mitsubishi 65" HDTV (WS65869)
  10. quote: Originally posted by Orange Peel: TopDawg - Yep I matched them up perfectly, correct colors and letters to the correct letters and colors on the DVD and TV. I do have Monster Cable ones, and I already tried to reverse them, I will try it again since I changed the settings and stuff, but I think it's my TV not the cables. It took my FOREVER to decide between this one and a Elite model, I can get the Pioneer Elite DV47A for about $60 or so more, so if I don't like this one I may try that model, but hell, if Progressive scan don't work why bother? I like the Denon because of the 4MB buffer, so you don't see that layer swap and what not, I didn't see one glitch or swap lastnight when I watched The Panic Room. The Elite just accepts all formats, the Denon accepts all the formats I will use. Do you think the Pioneer Elite DV47A is better than the Denon 2800? Doug - I tried to call you lastnight too and talk with ya. It was about 9:30pm, so I think you may have been sleeping or something, sorry if I woke you. I called your cell phone, I was sooooo pissed lastnight I couldn't see straight! What I don't understand is that the DVD player will work in progressive scan mode if I use the rca style cable, but not with the component cables. I'm going to go buy a set of S-video cables and see if it works with them. The picture was still amazing even with the crappy *** rca styles. S-video is better then that, so it may be nice with that cable. I'm just dissapointed in all this stuff, I can't believe the TV is like that, what a POS! What cable are you using? Do you have a progressive scan DVD player? How's it hooked up? I have a mitsubishi 65" HDTV (WS-65869) and progressive scan works awesome. Although, the HDTV broadcasts on PBS blow away a progressive scan DVD. What model Mitsu did you buy? If it is a platinum or diamond, it should work fine. If it is a gold, it may not... I paid considerably more for mine even if I did get a good deal at the time. Did you get the RAV2000 remote with it? I did, but still use the other one more often. Good one! I do not think I got an RAV2000 remote. What is that? I just bought the receiver on Thursday (new in the box)... 14. You guys should listen to the Heritage Speakers (probably made before you guys were born). You can pick up a pair of La Scalas or Cornwalls for under a grand and they blow away the RF-7s in my opinion. In fact, you could pick up a pair of Heresy speakers for around $450 used. They sound unbelievable...you ought to check them out. Rob
  15. Check out my new system! It sounds unbelievable. I am so glad I bought used Heritage, instead of new reference. In my opinion, the old stuff is far superior. Next, I need to find a center channel and a sub to match. The receiver was a terrific find at Tweeter for $1800 off of retail (last years model)! 16. quote: Originally posted by jtkinney: Rob, The remote has a button near the volume control that says effects (this if from memory) or effects off. I think there is also a button behind the door on the receiver. Thanks for the answer Jim. I found the button (too many settings). You have a superb choice of speakers. Do you have any pictures? My brother lives in Mesa (we grew up in Tempe). He has 4 cornwalls and a velodyne 15 for his audio system. Rob
  17. quote: Originally posted by boa12: rob, how about another cornwall I for center & put the tv on top of it? that is if the screen section seperates from the bottom section. or maybe some other way to integrate another corn in there, such as mounting it upside-down above the screen. that's your best match. or get a single heresy I & put it verticle & upside down on tv top. That is a good suggestion with the cornwall center. However, the TV is a Mitsubishi 65" widescreen rear projection. I noticed you have a C-7 center. How well does that match with your cornwalls?
  18. quote: Originally posted by jtkinney: For center channels (front and rear), I would look for another pair of Heresy's if you can't find an Academy. Put it in front of the TV and adjust the time delay in the receiver to make it appear farther from the listening position. For 2 channel, I turn the effects off on my RX-V1. Your Corn's hit pretty low as they are, so a sub will have to be big to keep up. The ones JTS8 mentioned are a good start. I am not sure, but think only the SVS will be less than $1K new. I just picked up the Yamaha yesterday. I can't seem to figure out how to turn off the effects. Is there an easy way to do that?
  19. I just assembled my new HT! 2 Klipsch Cornwalls (1981), 2 Heresy II, Yamaha RX-V1, Mitsubishi 65"HDTV (WS65869). What would be a good center that I could put on top of the tv? What is the best setting for 2 channel audio listening on the receiver? Would a subwoofer make a big difference? If so, what is a good value to match my system under $1,000? Thanks in advance for your help... Rob This message has been edited by robforst1 on 09-21-2002 at 08:25 PM
