I'm off diaper duties since I fractured my right hand last Sunday. Major bummer as it will delay my biking season start. -
While I wouldn't squeeze out 12W out of a WE300B, I wouldn't have too much second tought at pushing to the limit something like an EH or a JJ 300b since they are rather cheap. Getting 5 000 hours out of them instead of 10 000 ain't to much of a big deal. Some designers do prefer the sound of the 300B pushed a bit.

No problem. Now that the search function is working again, you can find the schematic I posted here sometime ago. -

Tony's amp has the following topology: the input-driver is two halves of a 6SN7 in parallel going into an IT phase splitter (a Lundhal 1660) then feeding a pair of 2A3 in class AB. The Seth is quite different and has gone through a zillion iterations. The initial design can be seen at http://www.magnequest.com/diy_lessard_2a3pp.htm. I'm now running it with a 6H30-Pi in SRPP instead of the 6C45-Pi. -

The other way around would be closer to the truth. It's the Horus that bears a resemblence to the Gemini in the output stage. I tried parafeed and grid chokes after Gordon suggested me to try this. I did and never looked back. The input-driver circuit is inspired by a circuit from an old Sound Practices magazine. It's beefy enough to drive a 300B with no sweat. I hope Jazzman will enjoy the amp. -
I'd go with the bird on the EQ thing. If the khorns do bad in your room (they did really bad in mine), no amount of EQing will cure the problem. Khorns are outstanding in a proper room (hard to beat horn loaded bass for naturalness). They are plain awful in the wrong one. For me going to Cornwalls was part of the solution.

The easiest PSU mod is to beef up the capacitance on the B+. You can already cure the roll off by keeping the circuit stock and only implementing those suggestions by Joe Rosen. http://db.audioasylum.com/cgi/m.mpl?forum=vintage&n=12451&highlight=dyna+valve+amps+joe+rosen&r=&session= In my case, I'd look at building this. Not the last world in frequency response but a huge improvement over the stock Dyna. http://www.triodeel.com/dynawil1.gif

The Utah were kind of seen as "Klipsch for the cheapstake". I was given a pair last year. I was so impressed with them that I put them on the side of the street on garbage day... In other word, don't bother with them.

You know that old saying about opinions don't you?
-
I just think you should have the right to choose who would be living in your house. No problem with that. If you want to rent it to a Christian, nonsmoking female, Caucasian that should be your choice... No problem with that. ...and you should be able to advertise it if you feel like it. No. If you advertise it, i.e, offering it publicly, you are in the same situation of say, the city bus service. So you can't discriminate. If you don't grasp that concept Rosa Parks will roll over in her grave.
-
Not if if you agree with laws that prohibit discrimination.
-
Actually, legally you don't have that choice. For people not wanting to accept this the solution is easy, don't rent rooms. Or at least, don't advertise them.
-
Not in Kansas. Heh! Back to the search function topic, I agree with you totally. The lack of it is a major annoyance for someone who don't really use this forum as a mean of social gathering.

Depends of the state you live in. For some, history started something like 5000 years ago...

Thanks. I'll probably take the "lazy man" route you suggested. -

Hi, I'll buy your grill cloth. You can fire me a mail at jeff.lessard@sympatico.ca. The goal is to remove the grill cloth from the motorboard then use masonite templates. I don't like the idea of having the motorboard "decoupled" (sort of...) from the enclosure with the actual grill cloth (which cloth is a no go on the WAF BTW...).
