  1. ROFL, and i Blose lovers ever go "Well your system is super huge, I'd hope it would do all that..but ours are small and sound just as good, bet you can't make it this small and sound so good" *Starts laughing* *busts out the Promedia Ultras* *looks at face at blose lover* *smurks* and I say "Bitach! Take that, and it was only $399!

Buy it one time, and be done with it. ---------------- Alright that has me sold lol. I'ma see if the Hi-Fi shop over here has them or can get a hold of em, that way I can give em a listen.

Lots of subs that can dig deeper.
  4. I know, said nothing about that. The point was that those were the specific things to look for be it either "a" GPU "or" memory overheating problem.
  5. Toy sub?, SVS's play with 17hz like it was there beaten red headed step child. Hell my tiny Sunfire Signature can hit it, not loudly but you can def. tell its there. (does 20hz with Authority though).
  6. Yeah Sunfire farkin owns..bob Carver is a true compact god. My Signature is just an awesome display of raw SPL/deep bass in a small box.
  7. Mines been running for about 3 1/2 so far (4.1's). The thing is though that most of these problems you hear is maybe 5% or less of total sales. The most amp problem the Promedia series ever had was the the 5.1's (Non Ultra), but considering total sales, it stil lwas a small portion. I do agree the quality is very important, that and people have to know how to take care of their speakers while knowing its limit...no matter how good they seem.

(Example lets say 11x266 increase to say 13x266)
  9. Excellent point Proj. I heard SVS is making a $400 subwoofer with a 10" in it. Knowing SVS it would be of great quality and a 10" that I'm sure will go damn deep for its size. http://svsubwoofers.com/news.htm (pics and info here)
  10. Well the Ultra sub is better, but its tied to a Multimedia system which meakes it pointless for making HT for. (if they sold sub sep. it might be different). I'd say go with the Jamo, I haven't heard and unless someone around here has, it sounds like its the best bet for ya. You seem to like it as well.
  11. Wow your right, that +2500-M does look tempting. The good thing about that too is that its FSB is 266, and I already have 3x 128mb Samsung DDR266 sticks. I saw a Nforce 2 Gigabyte board that had 4x DDR slots as well, which means I'd only have to buy 1x 256 266DDR stick from Crucial = 768mb of DDR(PC2100) and a crap load of money saved. Friggin awesome! If that 2500+ does overclock well(at least to +3000 on that thermaltake cooler I wanted), then shoot thats $30-40 saved right there with a faster GHz speed on the same arch. (abit slower bus speeds but that doesn't matter enough to warrent spending that much more money). Question though, if the Athlon-M's use less power and overclock better (While being the same Arch as the Xp's) then how come they didn't just use those instead of the Desktop XP's, or is it because XP's have 333mhz bus speeds as apposed to the XP-M 266mhz? Yeah with the money saved, I prob. would be within budget of getting the 6800nu now. That be awesome! Sorry, I just get too excited over this stuff lol. I was the same way when I built my 1.33ghz Athlon/384mbDDR/GeForce 3 64mb setup two years ago. (Which is the machine I have now and will be giving to my sister).
  12. Purhaps, but the Ultra sounds better, tighter, louder, and deeper then the KSW-10. Same goes for the RW-8, except that of course the RW is tigher and sounds better, I don't know much about jamo subs. If it(Ultra) didn't have a fixed crossover, it be a great system to build upon as evident of people buying the RSX/RB series of sats/bookselves for it. That being said, I agree to get a Dayton sub if possible, far cheaper and as said its as loud as the ultra sub, goes a tad deeper, and is slightly tighter as well.
  13. LOTR: Return of The King, near the end when the tower colapses..holy ****! Bass down to 14hz, no joke!

    Bad Santa

Damn straight he does, Anglina Jolie man...she may have been around the block but all of you'd hit it..don't deny it . Anyhow Bad Santa was a funny *** movie, I don't think I've ever laughed so hard. I wonder how much worse "Badder" santa is.
  15. You sure? It seems like it be more future proof, but slower. I know it has 500mhz of GDDR3 memory, but only a 128bit bus? Doesn't seem like it would hold well in higher resolutions. (16GB vs 22.4GB from 9800 Pro/XT) I dunno, I want to wait for reviews before I make my decision. Thanks though, you gave me a comparision to think about. I also decided for the well being of my new machine to ramp up the CPU and memory I tad. I don't want to spend a crap load of money. But I decided to up the memory from 512 to 768mb. The CPU from a 2700+ and instead get a 3000+.

    Question...

I'm building a "Budget machine" consits of a Athlon XP 2700+ w/ ThermalTake silent boost performance cooler, Shuttle Nforce 2 board, 512mb OCz Premier Value DDR400, also buying an Audigy 2 to replace the Live card I have now. The question I have is about the graphics card and I can't decide. Originally it was between the 5700U and the 9600XT, but then I noticed that the 5900XT was barely anymore and crushed the two above. However I see the 9800Pro is almost the same price as the 5900XT ($175-200 range). I can't decide between the two, and reviews arn't helping much lol. So which should I get as far as a better overall gaming card, I'm kinda leaning to the 9800pro since it features a more complete DX9 set and is said to be slightly more future proof.
  17. Another note worth mentioning. If the artifacts appear as colored dots or distorted/streched polygons, then the GPU is overheated. If the artifacts appear as white dots or of similar stature, then the cards memory is overheated.

The simulated 3D imaging is very good, and the RF-3s have power. Power that the Ultras could not have been able to convey. Oy I wish I could have a full 3-series based system : ) ---------------- You'd be surprised just how well the Ultras convey power and/or a surround field, truly surprising from mere "PC" speakers. As for Doom 3, I agree..its a immersive masterpiece, and gives new word to scary. Something that hasn't truly been done since Clive Barkers Undying or AVP2 for example.
  19. Four Ultra2 subwoofers...holy ****! rofl....
  20. I liked Episode II a little better, it was darker and overall more refined as an overall package. There was only two things I liked about Episode 1; the Pod Race, and the end "Dual of the Fates" (best battle song ever!) between The Jedi's and Maul...that was badass.
  21. I know people hate sony, and I'm not a big fan of them either. But look into the SA-WX700, its accually a good subwoofer for the price(I think its like $300), all jokes aside. The 10" on it is quite serious (for the price range)(Dual 10" accually. One is front-firing, the other is down-firing).
  22. Everest, no contest. 2x 15" Tumult's mated with 4 18" PR's.
  23. All I'll say is Brillant story writing, one of the biggest plot twists I've seen in a long time.
  24. I agree with the Ear's selections. I don't have much experience with the revel, but I do own a Signture. My uncle however does have the Dual Signature setup, and let me tell you..it is just a sickening amount of bass. He managed a peak of 123db at 31.5hz, gave me a frickin head tumor.
  25. Good job gentlemen, we've turned another into a deep bass loving freak. God I love Audio, and my Signature as well!
