hey guys now check it out, im a 16 year-old on a budget, so dont get any funny ideas about telling me about Tenor amps or something like that that would sound great with my floorstanders. i bought a pair of the RF-3 IIs about a year ago, and since then i have been pushing them with an NAD amp (150 a side) and a harman/kardon receiver (using the pre-outs). I'm interested in upgrading the entire amping section, and that can include using an integrated unit, or maybe just the amp. i'm not sure what i want to do. but i know that i probably have way more power there than i need. and PLEASE dont tell me "well hey, you should talk to this guy and have him rebuild an old HH Scott for you." there's no way that im interested in that, as lovely as it may be or sound, its not my thing. i am interested in current day product... thanks a bunch, advice please! nate

HEY! that was just listed on ebay..no? i chuckled to myself and wondered what kind of an idiot would ruin beautiful speakers like that!? i have a solution, dont be careless around works of art like klipsch speakers. just a thought. Nate -
a thought while my s/n may falsely imply that i am some kind of audiophile, there is no way i can make such a claim. what many of these people are saying, tbrennan, is that they dont care for the sound of the bose speakers, or perhaps they do, but prefer the sound of other systems. bose doesnt appeal to me, because i know that to have real sound, your speakers have to MOVE AIR, not be cool little boxes that can actually emit substantial noise. but then again, if a man (or woman) is pleased with his or her system, and they can sit in the sweet spot, close their eyes, and get goosebumps because the music is THAT good, then whatever system they have is just fine. at the end of the day, it comes down to the music, and if you have a system that accurately reproduces music to your likings, whether or not you and i may agree with others' standards...then God love them for loving the best art form ever introduced to our society.....music! Sebastian said--- "All of you old fogies are probobly tone deaf, and might have a difficult time telling the difference between Digital and Analog" Sorry i cant help on the LP issue, but i have to disagree with such a comment - even though i'm about as far from "fogiehood" as anyone can get! I'm afraid that the difference between digital and analog is unbeleviably discernable. Which one you prefer is totally personal taste. (Just a dumb 16 year old's opinion) haha Nate

He's right about that kind of thing, you dont need anything too bright with the klipsch horns, they do enough of that. and the wattage that you mentioned will be more than enough for the rf-3s take a look at my earlier post and the attached chart regarding power/efficiency ratings Nate

Thanks, Erik, for all of the advice and suggestions. I've taken a look at a few of the things you've mentioned. They all seem to be good values. Thank you! Nate

Thanks a bunch crazy! nate
-
Haha, yea right...somehoiw i dont believe you would seel me something like that for such a price! nate

Thanks guys, for all of the suggestions...and you seem to have convinced me that monos arent really necessary (considering that there are 2 chassis, and you pay for more material overall) and also that a tube amp is the path to take for Klipsch speakers. Thanks also for the sub suggestions, but i dont believe that is necessary...my listening room is a mere 13 by 11 feet (with long wall speaker placement), so the RF3II's fill the room with bass perfectly...for my taste anyway. and on occasion i do like to turn it up pretty good, so i dont want to lose any impact... keep the suggestions coming! and although the marantz i was considering were 300 apiece, that isnt my strict budget, i would like to keep it under 1000 though, for a stereo amp. keep the tube suggestions coming! thanks a lot! nate

Well unfortunately, i have to integrate both home theater and stereo system into one, given my budget. however, my primary application is stereo listening. i certainly dont mean to be misleading, and perhaps i shouldnt imply home theater as my primary use, because it is not. and thanks much. nate
