A lot depends on your room let use know what the size and shape of it is and we can help you more.
  2. LFE is used for hook up from your receiver. It is the .1 of 5.1. the phase switch is used to put the sub in phase with your other speakers. Flip the switch and see if you can hear if it sounds better.
  3. I will be watching but I am upset that it isn't in HD. How stupid is that. One of the greatest races and they don't even have it in HD.
  4. Buy differnt speakers! Differnt Receiver- go seperates.
  5. Ya they have espnhd. It is part of the basic package.
  6. If you use a good ceiling tile that is designed for acuostics and use a good thick carpet and pad with chairs and stuff in it the acuostics should be fine. There really shouldn't be to much of a echo problem. As for the size and Khorns I would take JM advise, his room is nice like you know.
  7. What for so I can hear the laughter sound tracks comming from the rear. A waste of money for the electric to run the all seven amps.
  8. I have a big screen and I use my built in speakers. Most of my tv watching is useing the built in speakers. I use the HT for movies and sports only. I am not going to waste the ht for tv or chick flicks. If you want a tube tv than you have to go wega. They have the best tube tv. If you want a rear projection than look at Hitachi, Mit., or pioneer. They are the best.
  9. I would say that the 35's are a step back. I had both in the same room and I much perfered the sound of the 3II's. Many people have also like the rc3II better than the rc35.

I can see the differnce between old movies up converted and true hd shows that were shot with hd camaras. The upconverted ones are so much better than normal tv picture. They look like good dvd picture. All of the programing is in 1080i except some of my locals. They have less compression and you can see it on the shows that use HD camaras. I was watching trading spaces this morning and it is a much better picture than directv's trading spaces. I received the update last night and the channel changing is as fast if not faster then Directv. There SD channels aren't bad either. They are as good as directv.
  11. I had Voom installed today. Let me tell you that the PQ is awsome. I am waiting for the update to make things work faster. I should get it tonight. So many hd channels. They also installed a 50 element wingard antenna for locals. I can't get cbs so I called them and they are going to install a pre amp and amp. All this for free. Well worth it. So far I am very happy with the service and the people are great. Take a look at them well worth the money. Figure I would give a update.
  12. How is the picture quility? I have heard that some of these real big ones are having some problems with the edge clearity. I have a 57 now and have wanted to go up to these new big ones.
  13. First ED is only 420p, which is not HD. You need one with 720p or 1080i for real HD. I would get one with a DVI or firewire inputs. This is the main input that works best with plasma or lcd or dlp. If you do not get sick from dlp they have a great picture. I would have bought one myself but dlp's get me sick and I can see the flicker. Plasma and LCD are good tv's bought they still have there own problems. Black level is one. They have real hard time producing real blacks. They are greyish black. Lcd's have some problems with being blury when there is fast motion. Rear crt projection can and will have the best picture when set up right. But they have there draw backs also. There big and bulky. They also don't have the WOW factor that LCD and Plasma's have. You may want to look at some sets with HD tuners built in. Unless you are going cable or sat only. Good luck I hope this helps
  14. It is always nice to meet people face to face from this forum. Some real good people. I am going to have to have some of the Milwaukee people over once I get my system up and running in the new house.
  15. I agree. You may need to get a preamp. They make a huge differnce. How is it working out? How about a update.
  16. Auto Cad lt is a learning and teaching tool. It does not have every little thing in it. You get most of the stuff that you will ever need for home use.
  17. Fini I was a auto tech and now they are putting me through school right now for Mechanical design. I started with auto cad, it doesn't take a very strong computor it all. My laptop runs it fine. Look ahead in the program because most will not run auto cad only. We have moved on to ProE and that requires a much more powerfull computer. When dealing with WC they will only buy you one computer so make sure you get the most powerfull you can justifie. I had to do the samething. I showed them what I will need to run proe. Auto Cad is easy and you will pick it up fast. The guy that used to sit next to me in the class never even turn a computer on before. He is fluid in it now. You can do a lot more fun stuff and 3D in programs like solid works or Pro E.
  18. Most of the time and I believe this is the case that it came down the line. They only tell people when they call and complain. Not all area's and boxes get the upgrade at the same time or at all. It all depends of what branch your from. Try it or call and see.
  19. I have used both and I would not buy those bipoler speakers again. Direct full range tower speakers that can produce a full spectume of sound is the only way to go if you are running 6.1 or 7.1. 5.1 is kind of a wash depending on your setup. If you have them setup right I will still take the direct speakers. You have to remember that all the speakers spread the sound out. I also think that the eng. at klipsch design stuff for the main stream. Most people do not setup there systems right and then the dipole speakers will give you a better sound. All of the big great systems don't use those silly things. They all use big full range direct speakers. Take a look around you will see
  20. Boomac There are having some prob. with that box. I think there is a software update, not sure. Call you local office and see if they will give you a differnt box. Like others I would try Directv but you will need an antenna to get your local hd.
  21. You are close and should not have any problems getting the stations. I would get a 4bay antenna. It is for uhf only and works great with high gain.
  22. It all depends on your DACs in each unit. If they are better in the dvd than use them. I don't have that good of a dvd player so I let the receiver do the work
  23. The stuff that was connected to my belkin surge protector worked great with the cable lines. Everything that wasn't fried. I need to find something good to use for the whole house. I am also installing a 50ft tower for my antennas. I am going to be installing a 8ft copper grounding rod just for that.
  24. That is a good thing. But it is always better to be safe than sorry.
  25. I am moving on Wed. and have been talking to some friends and they have a hole house system. I am thinking of putting on in. I goes into the line before the fuse box. It cleans the line and protects it from surges. Sounds like a good idea. No more seperate protectors.
