  1. Santa came early for me ,new tractor, new speakers, couldn't ask or afford much more. Just what i wanted.[]
  2. Kbear we never put it on this forum to find someone to care . There is alot of personal stuff put here because it's like a big group of friends. If i can post about a tv,or anything audio i am proud of, i can post about my daughter that is alot more important to us. The way it works for most here is if you don't care about the subject don't read or post it's really that simple. It was more like an announcement to friends nothing more. Thanks for all the replies.
  3. Just keep looking, you will find some, i would pick the forte's myself. If people on the forum know you are looking for them that helps, they helped me find 2 pair of forte ll's, stick around here their is alot of good people here. Be sure they don't get shipped.
  4. Notice i did not post a comment in this thread so far,I get myself in enough trouble on my own !!!
  5. Thanks Bonzo i think i wan't to try this ,so did it really help that much?
  6. When i went back and read about his revised edition of him picking up his speakers Cruisaire's writing style made me think of Thebes, is it just me, just something about the way they tell a story, very nice.
  7. Michael now that was funny and true ( complete walletectomy). Welcome Cruisaire, you are already hooked, it's easy to see by your post, good luck, but you did find the perfect place to share your addiction. I'm glad i diden't have to go thru that on my first post they made it very easy on me.
  8. Hey Bonzo did you change the diaphragms yourself or did Bob do it. I thought about doing it to just one pair to see if i like it, and if i don't like it can i put the original diaphragms back or do they break when you change them. I thought this might add a little more to the top end, that is where i need a little boost, I like the forte ll but after hearing Colterphoto's Lascalas i want a little more in the high freq. ? Hard to explain, when a cymbal is hit and you listen on a Lascala it sounds like metal was hit, with the forte ll it just sounds a little more dull ? I think a big part of it is my old ears ,but i did hear it on the Lascalas ,Damm i was perfectly happy with the Forte's till i heard Colters monsters ,Still happy with the forte's but their is always room for improvment right? Also what was the cost if you don't mind saying, or Pm me please, thank you.
  9. This is dtel's wife. I took your advice and changed the avatar for him. He would never have posted a pic of himself on here, let alone changed the avatar from the shadowy little figure that it is. LOL
  10. This is dtel's wife: I just wanted to thank everyone involved in this transaction and making Christmas wishes come true. Michael you are truly a wonderful person for allowing me to take your place in line and purchase these Forte II's for dtel. We picked the speakers up from maddawg today. Just as he said the speakers are in excellent condition and dtel couldn't be happier. This set of speakers is a perfect match to our other Forte II's, oak clear finish. I would also like to thank MadDawg and Mrs. MadDawg for their hospitality. They couldn't have been nicer. We were able to listen to Cornwall's for the first time. We also were able to listen to an Academy for the first time...very impressive if I say so myself. We are still pursuing the complete Home Theater setup which will require another purchase of Forte II's. However, upon completion of the home theater set up, my objective is to purchase a pair of Klipschhorns. How many of you guys thought you would ever hear a woman say that? Being married to dtel for 27 years I have heard a lot of speakers, every shape, size and price range. I am truly convinced without ever having heard the Klipschhorns that they must provide the ultimate experience in music listening if all the other Klipsch speakers sound as good as they do. And yes, Michael even those ugly looking LaScalas could have stayed as long as necessary, they sounded great, just didn't have a big enough room to turn them up. Again thank you all for your help and consideration in getting dtel these speakers as part of his Christmas. Between the new Kabota tractor and the speakers the guy is in a state of shock. Finally, thank you to our daughter Jamie and her fiance' Johnny for purchasing these for her dad for Christmas. I was broke after the new tractor.
  11. I just looked on the forum for the first time today ,I did not know what my wife put on here, thanks everyone. I really did need it at 48 i'm not getting any younger and landscapeing is not the easiest job without some kind of help. And yes i know i am very lucky with my wife and family.
  12. This is something dtel has wanted and needed for almost eight years now. It is a 2005 Kabota L2800, 4 wheel drive, 29 HP. We have ordered a five foot front end loader and it should be delivered in about three weeks. We have approximately six acres of land with a house and pond on two acres of the property and also own our own landscaping company. This will be an invaluable piece of equipment for us. In addition, his mother and sister lost everything they own in St. Bernard Parish (thanks to Katrina). They recently purchased three and half acres around the corner from us and this will help clear their land, which is heavily wooded. We will also be building a log house on the remaining four acres of our property, so all in all it is a gift that we will be sharing with the entire family.
  13. please let me know if the pic posted, or if it posted twice. This is the first time I have tried to post a picture, but thought it was well worth the effort. Dtel has made many friends through this forum and I wanted to share this with all of you.
  14. This is dtel's wife: Just wanted to show off one of dtel's Christmas presents. We just picked it up today, boy was he surprised. We are going to pick the other present up tomorrow, his 2nd pair of Forte II's. Like I told Colterphoto, he must have been a really good boy for Mrs. Claus to treat him so nicely, considering Mrs. Claus' birthday is Christmas Day. So you can all tell him how nice he should be to Mrs. Claus. A brand new tractor and speakers....
  15. I really thought i would catch more ---- for that screwup?
  16. Also I would like to thank Maddawg for offering them on the forum first,we look forward to meeting you. We will get back to you before we meet . Thanks
  17. It really was a screwup ,SORRY,i went back and changed all of them to make it a little better also emailed Amy to fix. When i went back i did see the post count never changed so i know she never hit {post} a bunch of times. Michael i just wanted to THANK YOU it was really nice of you to do that. If you ever need anything please let me know I will help any way i can. My wife called and Maddawg was very nice ,and everything is set up for this weekend.
  18. Michael, This is dtel's wife...as I said before those LaScalas could have sat in my living room as long as necessary. It was an honor that you would allow us the priviledge of picking them up for you. Not to mention that we got to preview them also. Thank you for the opportunity. Our first experience with Klipsch was the Synergy SB 3, SC 1 and SS 1, which we were totally happy with. Then after reading and gaining knowledge from all of you guys, we purchased a pair of Forte ll's, with the hopes of getting another pair of Forte II's for the rear and an Academy or another single Forte II for the center channel. The Forte's seem to be right for us at this time. Your generosity in allowing us to take your place in line will result in my brother-in-law being given all of our Synergy speakers. Prior to Hurricane Katrina he had offered to purchase the Synergy speakers. My brother-in-law, his wife, mother and three children had a house in Bay St. Louis, Missisissippi. They lost everything. Thier house should be completed (rebuilt) just before Christmas and we will be giving him the Synergy speakers for Christmas. My brother in law and his family spent Mother's Day this year with us and he was so excited to have the chance to purchase the speakers (once we got our 2nd set of Forte's). Your kindness will be appreciated beyond dtel and I. This really means a lot to me personally, more than I could ever express to you. Thank you.
  19. Yea what my wife said.......
  20. This is dtel's wife: I would really like to purchase these speakers for dtel for Christmas. If they are not sold please email us as soon as possible so that we can make payment arrangements.
  21. Yes i am sure the money helped to try things he might not have had a chance to without it. But there is always a few things money can't buy.
  22. I was just thinking i would have liked to hear what he thought about this forum. At the very least he had to be proud of the fact that so many people really enjoy what he made. I said really enjoy because most people just buy them and rarely use them ,but many listen every day and would not want to go without their Klipsch. It must have been a good feeling to read about so many people who would not want to do without what you created.
  23. This is strange ,yesterday i loadid a pic of my Forte ll crosover in my computer but could not get it on the forum? Have to go back and read about putting the pic on the forum. I was going to ask if there was anything i could change that would make a difference in the mid and high freq, a little more high freq would help. How does it sound with the new parts, mine is 1992 model is that old enough to have a change in the xover from original.
  24. Sure you can quote me because i more than likely read it here on the forum somewhere? As far as the blankets go i don't them want them, i keep a few old ones around for just to put on the ground if i have to get under a car or something. Glad you liked the condition of the LSI's i thought they looked very good. A double stack of those would be something to hear at maby 150 feet away. Your neighbors are going to love or hate you not much middle ground there.
