I have my daughter in on this one, the same one that made the Klipsch clock for me. I cant wait to see what she comes up with.

Last Saturday night, our school musical had our closing night, & the adults all went out for drinks at Joe's Bar & Grill in Lafayette. There was live music in the other room, but when it ended, they played recorded music in the room we were in. I looked up & noticed there were Klipsch at all of the corners. It was too dark too see what model they were, but they had the gold V logo on the front that could not be missed. Looked like some older classic series. EDIT: After looking online, they looked like they might have been RB-5's

This is a hard decision.... I did not make it last year because of my daughter's college schedule. This year, she is getting married the weekend before. What to do, what to do.....

I am not sure if this counts, but it seems I cant walk anywhere on my school campus without running into a Klipsch setup. Since I have installed Klipsch in the theater, gym, band & chorus room, & 10 pairs of Promedia's in classrooms, I am now walking into classrooms & finding that the teachers are buying Klipsch I-pod systems for their desks, & in the last month, I have seen 2 students with Klipsch earphones with I-pods. Just this morning I emailed Amy about ordering another 10 pairs of Promedia's.

They all run very hot, but mine never shut off during the first few weeks I had it. Since then, I have sealed it into a fan-forced enclosure so it gets forced air all the time.

I have the 805 for about 9 months now & love it. When I upgraded my HT to HD, I had originally picked up the 804, & found it to be plagued with problems. Onkyo finally replaced it with the 805, & it is a totally different beast. I even had to reinforce the shelf to hold the weight.

Wuzzer... Just got your email. I have to admit, I was wondering about this myself. I have a computer setup with a DVI-to-HDMI out to the JVC, & playing a DVD from the computer is much sharper that the OPPO. I was actually thinking of selling the OPPO! What really amazed me was that if I make an image of the DVD & play it direct from the image, It is very close to HD, much better than playing it straight from the disk. I havent been able to explain this one yet! Maybe you just did! What I cant believe is that the 980-h is much cheaper that the 981. I wonder if OPPO has a downgrade policy!

My Adcom GCD-575 has a fixed & variable out, with a manual knob on the front. No control on the remote. There is one on ebay now for BIN $149

I recently upgraded from an older Onkyo to a new SR-804, & it was a nightmare. The unit had a hum in the sub channel, & Onkyo released a fix for it that did not fix it. After 3 trips to the shop, I finally got Circuit City to replace it with a new 805 model. The 805 is a totally different beast, and I can strongly recommend it. I wrote in another forum that it seemed that Onkyo knew the 804 was a POS, so the 805 was their way of apologizing. I hear that the 605 & 705 are expected to be about the same quality.

I just got back from vacation & saw these also, just before I saw this thread. Too bad I already have 2 pair.

My package just arrived.... via a slightly unhappy fed-ex driver. I guess he did get chewed on a bit.

Thanks Amy.... you are always looking out for us. If it does not come today, & will send it. There are 2 options for signature... One is where you can sign the door tag & leave it for the next day. Can they switch to the non-personal sig? That way, it is up to us if it is safe to leave it or not.

I had the same problem, & had to go out to the fedex plant to get mine. The driver didnt even leave a door tag. The only way I knew the package was in town was another forum member said he got his, so I checked the tracking number & called in. I am now having the same problem with my second package. I had Amy ship them to my work (a high school). On the first delivery, we had our end-of-year BBQ & were off campus, so the driver assumed we were closed for the summer & never even showed up the second day, but still marked it "business closed". I called in and chewed on someone, & they promised he would show up today.

That movie was all forked up...... (Somebody had to say it)
