sab323
Boy do I stand corrected - I wasn't much into REO at the time anyway - maybe I just wished it was Joe
Mike Lindsey
One of the best albums from the 70's is REO Speedwagon's "Live - You Get What You Play For". This double album rocks from start to finish. When they did Tuna Fish, it was their descent into pop-rock. And Hi-Fidelity? Jeez, no wonder Gary Rickrath left the band. I also saw them in '77 leading off for Aerosmith. Absolutely blew those guys off the stage! I agree, the 70's were quite the time... I know I got in my fair share of trouble. chickey
Well, well, well....the auction ended early @ $535 for the pair!! Perhaps the dot com era of the Academy has finally run its course, and prices have returned to more rational valuations. Hope you guys were successful netting these beauties. I'm still on the prowl for a black one myself. Chickey (aka Colin) ------------------ My System
anarchist
Well if that doesn't suck! I had tendered a bid of $501 and saw it had eclipsed that but thought there were three more days before the auction ended. So I decided to sit back and just wait before bidding any more. I was gonna push to $550 - maybe $600 max. Damn! Oh well, looks like the audio gods have spoken and I am supposed to get a RC-7 and Reference HT. I believe a classic listening room is in the cards as well though. ------------------ Fronts - KG4's Center - C6 Surrounds - S6's Sub - KSW200 Powered by - YAM995
synthfreek
Don't forget...it doesn't matter what the auction closed at if it ended early. There was very well some sort of agreement on price(it could've been $1000) and that bidder just needed to be the high bidder at the time of ending the auction. This is a common thing as I've done the same thing myself both as a seller and a buyer. ------------------ Outlaw 1050 A/V Receiver Rega P3 Turntable AMC CD8b CD Player Toshiba 3108 DVD Player Klipsch KG 4.2s(main) 2 Dynaco A-10/V IIs(centers) Cerwin Vega E-706s(rears) Cerwin Vega LW-12(sub) Parasound PPH-100 Phono Preamp Vampire Wire Digital Interconnects & Speaker Wire
chickey
Hmmm, good point Synth, didn't think of that. Wonder if the closing price (since the actual price isn't really known) will influence future Academy sales on Ebay? I noticed the guy who has a Buy It Now of $495 on his single Academy got no bids, and the auction closed. jhawk92
Colin- If we ever see a similar situation, but this time with black Academy's, let's keep each other in mind!! Rob

jhawk92
Colin- We'll probably never get that lucky, but then who would have thought there would have been two OO Academy's on the web...
