Is there standard maintenance for a horn speaker? (Chorus II)

Every now and then they demand macaroni pictures. Nice ones using clear glue and posted on the refridgerator. Other than that, play them loud enough often enough to keep the dust off, or failing that you could dust them if they get dusty. With the grilles on this should be a rare task, maybe once every 15 years.

The WAF factor enters here..... My loving wife's LaScala's.... Here's how it went....

WAF: Honey Pie!

WAF Slave: Yes Dear!!! Pray tell what can my lowly existence do to accomodate for your worshipfulness?

WAF: Those big horny thingys in MY LaScalas are all dusty.... especially up in the schnozzle ends... and the paint is not even and they don't look as nice as they should. Maybe you could do something.....

WAF Slave: Of course your Holiness. I will jump right on that!!!

Removed the drivers, unscrewed the horns (What a PIA) and ran them through the dishwasher, then a fresh spritz of some semi-gloss "Krylon".... and re-installed. Checked the drivers (K-55's) and made sure they were ok (tested them at 11.9 & 11.9 ohms), made sure there was no dust or debris on the screens, and screwed them back on.

Next day...

WAF Slave: Sweetheart!! Love of my life!!! bearer of my children!!! I have completed the task set before me!!!

WAF: Not bad. Thanks. Hot dogs for dinner ok?

I was just wondering if there was any standard maintenance that I should do with my Chorus II speakers to keep them running at peak. I have already upgraded the crossover to Bob Crites crossovers. Anything that needs to be done with the horns themselves?

No - not really........just feed 'em a steady diet of tubes and they should stay regular and healthy[:D]

If the cabinets are oil finish, it doesn't hurt to give them an oil coat or two on occasion. This is NOT applicable if they are lacquer or non-oil finish.
