hey all,

i was originally going to get a pair of RF-52's, i already own an RC-52, but now due to room size, and new budget [:$] i will be getting a pair of RB-61's. so ive got a simple question: whats a good stand? and stand height? i was thinking about getting a set 24"sanus stands.amy feedback, advice, models would be great. and anyone with pics of their reference series bookshelfs on stands would be great! thanks

sanus' im considering: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/306883-REG/Sanus_NF24B_24_Black_Lacquered_Speaker.html

(side note: i will be getting the speakers in black, and would like sold black stands)

Before you get something you might want to rig up something to see if the height is good for you setup. You want to horns to be at ear level so that all depends on you seated hight. But then again everyone is different and you might want something either shorter or taller. Then from that you can decide which height is good for you and that will limit what you get, sometimes not a good thing... [;)]

Here is a place that has good prices and lots to choose from. RacksandStands StandsandMounts

thats a good point. i was trying to get the speakers to be the same height as my old towes im replacing, but the tweeters on those arent really at ear level. i dont think ill want much taller than a 24" though. it would just kind of look silly if you ask me. and i know thats not a good reason to choose what i get, but thats just kind of how i think.

is sanus not a good brand? they look pretty nice and a really nice theater store by me carries their stuff....

it's not a laser beam coming out of that horn. 24" stands would be just fine. Besides you get into possible tippage problems with taller stands.

Wood Technologies woodtech.com make some great stands, not all are wood

Bello are very sturdy and high style, but spendy

Sanus- look st their Ultimate Foundations line for steel. I think you can get black

haha thats true.yeah i was worried about the tipping, as well as looking find of funny

yeah ive briefly looked into those other two. the main problem is there arent too many places where i can see them in person, or even get pictures of the stands in use

any help here?? [;)]

I have a set of RB61s and Rb81s presently used as surrounds and rears. I hooked the 61s up as fronts just to test them by themselves when I first got them. They are very close to my Rb 81s. I am running 150WPC through them as surrounds in a HT setup and they sound great. You will be very happy with your choice. I could not get my 61s set up at ear height with stands considering the layout of my room. I solved this problem by purchasing a set of wall mounts that angle down. This worked extremely well. If you decide to go this route PM me and I will gt the name of the manufacturer. This set cost like 70 dollars delivered(pair) and is very well made specifically for klipsch bookshelf models.

Holds up to 55 pounds, swivels, tilts down, does not require any drilling into your speaker. Hold speaker some distance from wall so port can operate freely.

I have a pair of these I bought to test when I worked in Tech Support. Lots of good comments on these. That's the kind of service you used to get around here.

hey thanks for all the feedbakc everyone!

bad new though: i rent. drilling and wall mounting will probably be out of the question

but thanks for the good words about the speakers! ive heard the RF-52's and 62's, which i loved. but im still a little worried about the RB-61's not having quite as full sound

I have a pair of the Sanus NF stands in cherry that I use for my cherry RB5's. They are 24" and puts the horn at ear level when seated. They are very sturdy as long as you dont have a drunk girlfriend or ex girlfriend I should say nowadays.[:D]
