Moderators Youthman Posted January 22, 2009 Moderators Share Posted January 22, 2009 Welcome to the forum highpwr. Sorry to hear about your busted RC-64. I was expecting to read another raving review, not another sad tale of UPS neglect. From my understanding, the driver has a plastic basket that often breaks and if I am correct, the magnet is what usually breaks free when that happens and rolls around inside beating the crap out of the internal parts. I just ordered mine today through my local dealer. We'll see what happens.

highpwr
Just wondering what the solution is to the shipping damage problem? If the seller sends me a new one I can picture the same monkey dropping that one too. To make it worse, the damaged one had the cherry finish. Likewise, I also wish I had a better story to tell for my first post...

KlipschHead281
Well I just received my RC-64 via UPS today and it was damaged. This one shipped in the Klipsch box (no double box) and the box had really taken a beating. Surprisingly the grill was OK but the enclosure had suffered minor cosmetic damage on the bottom rear edge. The worst damage is that one of the speaker cones has been pushed inside-out and is now convex shaped. There is also something big and heavy that moves around inside the enclosure when the speaker enclosure is lifted and tilted. My guess is that a real hard drop from the back of the truck broke the driver frame and the magnet and maybe some other part of the speaker is rolling around inside. I will be calling the seller in the morning. Ouch! Do you agree shipping this heavy sucker with the grill attached is a very bad idea? Good luck in the replacement! nezff
I just got my RF63s and RC64 from fedex today. Thank god it came freight. There was not a single problem or damge anywhere on the boxes. These things came on their on pallet.
