AnalOg
Hi All, My son was rocking out the house last night, alittle Black Sabbath War Pigs. He comes down to tell me he thinks hedamaged the speakers because he smelled smoke and they started cuttingout. I went up to check and found the right speaker had an odoromitting out of it and no sound coming out of the woofer driver. theleft speaker had "plopping" sound coming out of the woofer driver butwould firm up when I would put my hand on it. Both tweeters seem to beOK. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Tom
CECAA850
Any advice would be much appreciated. Don't leave your son alone with the stereo. It sounds like he may have clipped the amp and cooked the drivers. If you gently push in and out on the drivers and hear or feel a scratching with the movement of the drivers then they're most likely toast. Moderators dtel Posted May 8, 2009 Moderators Share Posted May 8, 2009 Easy fix, just tell your son to call Klipsch and order a nice pair of Heritage, problem solved ! []
russ69
My advice? Make the kid mow lawns until the repairs are paid for or better yet, take the kids college fund and buy some horns, then tell the kid Community College is where the cool kids go! Thanx, Russ
AnalOg
For all the money he would owe me, he'd be mowing till my retirement! Tom
SWL
By all means.....don't discourage him from rocking out!!! However, I'd encourage him to pay for the drivers he just blew. Lesson learned----------> Rock out responsibly. []
