Rudy81
Has anyone installed a Trachorn in a center La Scala or Belle? I am curious as to how the tweeter was installed with the large horn. If on the side, do you notice that placement when listening?
tigerwoodKhorns
Al K. did it years ago. Check out his website.
Rudy81
I had seen that a while ago. I think that La Scala is the newer version. I was curious about anyone taking a saw to the motor board of a classic La S in order to fit the Trachorn.

Rudy81
Al: Very nice pictures, thank you. I am wondering, for a center channel application, if it will matter if the tweeter is off to the sid. Or, is it better to make a small enclosure to place on top of the cabinet to hold the tweeter directly above the mid and bass bin? Problem is once the hole is cut for one method of application, you are stuck with it.
Rudy81
Al: I just realized that the back cross brace also has to be trimmed in order to get the horn through the opening. The rear opening is currently too small to allow the horn to pass through.
IB Slammin
Rudy, Here's how one of my customers fit them into a set of industrial LaScalas. Al K. Man, those look great!
colterphoto1
Although those are black LaScalas with handles, I doubt if they began life as LSI's. The handles are not positioned as Klipsch would have done it, and the rear cover panel does not look like that of an LSI. M
Rudy81
I finally got my center Trachorn yesterday, and took the saw to my poor La Scala. Very difficult to make perfect cuts by hand with a jigsaw, but it worked out. It helps that my center has a grille cover to hide my 'handywork'. Thanks Al. Rudy81
that has to be one kick as*s home theater system. Khorns+LaScala+Khorns+Cornwall+Cornwall+Cornwall+Corwall? It is very nice, thank you. About the only thing I am missing is a subwoofer that can keep up with the mains.....like an RSW-15. The nice thing is that buying used kept the cost within my means. Klipsch heritage is such a great bang for the buck. I will say that the new Blu-Ray audio formats are amazing with good movies.
dkalsi
Rudy, If you need a sub to keep up with that system, I would highly recommend going DIY. Rudy81
Oooh, another DIY project! I love it, thanks. I will look into it.
Rudy81
Well, not so fast on the DIY. While looking around, I stumbled on a NIB deal on an RSW-15. $825. I hope this was a good move on my part. Based on what I have read here, the RSW-15 should do well with my setup.
