winchester21
I needed to send my Escort 9500 radar detector back for repairs and updates. It's Saturday- I am in a hurry to ship the box back. So I go to the UPS store. The computers are down- can't ship UPS- only USPS on Monday- cant get insurance becuase of some kind of computer problem. So- against my better judgement- I shipped USPS. I knew that I was making a mistake when I did it. impatient. Wanted the box out of my car and on the road. I called Escort yesterday to check on my order. A perfectly taped shut-intact box arrived with the contents removed. I am screwed- just lost a 499.00 piece of equipment. I have frequently recieved e-bay items shipped USPS with several issues- but never outright lost anything. Never again. Learn from my mistake- don't do it. Brac
sounds like the guy at the store, needed a radar detector. Do you have any way to find out the actual shipping weight from the post office? This could prove it was removed prior to arrival at the PO. and BTW that sucks! Bill H.
Or a Postal Employee needed one.............. So USPS couldn't give you Insurance? but they were able to Print a Computer generated Stamp label showing the Amount of Postage ? Totally stinks that happened................[|-)] If you can recover the Original Box, I would at least take it to the Postal Inspectors Office and file a complaint............... winchester21
I have the postal inspectors working on it. I have to have something from them before Escort will even put it on the stolen list and snag it if it shows up for repairs. the only thing I got was a flat rate postal recipt form the UPS store. We had to hand write all the labels and no stamp was printed. This was doine on monday when the package was shipped- yep I am screwed.I had a bad feeling about it as soon as I walked out of the place. I would not be surprised if the UPS store employee got it. had everything he needed to open and seal back the package. He was the only one in the store. Looked the part. psg
I use USPS to ship from the US to Canada. They are less greedy with customs surcharges and the like. No tracking though.
T2K
I prefer shipping USPS myself. I shipped a handgun AL to NY last week and it got there in less than 48 hours from the time I dropped it off at the Post Office.
