Albon
Hi guys. I actually own this setup : 2x RF-82, 1x RC-52, 2x RS-10 running on a Denon AVR790. Which upgrade would be the best for me right now? RC-52 ---> RC-62 or RS-10 ---> RS-52? I have a pretty big room. 75% blu-ray/xbox360 and 25% music! Thanks in advance for your comments guys! CECAA850
For a predominately HT set-up, I'd upgrade the center channel first.
Moderators Youthman Posted October 9, 2009 Moderators Share Posted October 9, 2009 My vote, RC-62 upgrade first.
Albon
In which way I'm gonna see a difference between the RC-52 vs the RC-62? My main problem with my surrounds is the power. The RS-10 are only 50watts/speaker and I'm affraid to blow them away when I pump up the volume.. Would a see a positive sound quality upgrade by switching either the RC-52 and the RS-10? Bill H. RF-82 Floorstanders RC-62 Center RS-52 Surrounds RSW-10d Subwoofer (each sold separately)

My KG 3.5s that I'm using as surrounds are rated for a lower wattage than my Marantz receiver puts out. I've never worried about damaging them as it would take incredibly high sustained volume levels to do any damage to them. I agree with others who have recommended upgrading your center speaker before your surrounds. Since the center speaker produces 70%+ of the dialogue and sound from a sound mix it makes sense for that speaker to be as capable as possible. Moderators Youthman Posted October 10, 2009 Moderators Share Posted October 10, 2009 Wuzzer is correct, speakers actually damage from distortion more than they do from excess power. As long as they sound clean, you are fine.

Plus you can sale the RC-52 and be that much closer to getting the RS-52.
