beaver229
I am thinking of using the following in my new dedicated home theater: RB5 II and RC3-II recessed mounted into the front wall. There is a two foot space behind the front wall to the concrete wall. I planned on using a Acoustically transparent screen so i can ge the resonance from the rear ports of theese speakers coming through the screen.i could also actually mount the center right behind the screen if i want to. Anyone have any opinion on this? good idea or bad?
Bill H.
I think because they are Rear Ported that you should NOT put them into an inclosed space. Put them on stands or a shelf but Not into the Wall............ JMHO.
wuzzzer
I agree with Bill. With an AT screen I don't really see the reason why they need to be hidden into the wall when the screen will be hiding them. That way you'll be able to change things around if you decide to upgrade to other speakers in the future, or adjust their height, width, etc.

Moderators Youthman Posted October 23, 2009 Moderators Share Posted October 23, 2009 Welcome to the forums. Are they going to be in an enclosed area or are you just building a false wall? If it is a false wall, you will be fine. If you are going to enclose the mains inside an area, bad idea.
beaver229
Its gpoing to be a false wall with 24 inches to concrete wall. i am starting to worry about sealing that wall. I think ineed to builnd second wall with insulation and vapor barrier then i should be fine.
