RICK VALLEJOS
Would it make a big difference if I was to put the sub underneath/in the cabinet? Would it change the sound quality?
EdmundGTP
Big difference? maybe. Change sound quality? probably a little. This is one of those things you can really only find out by trying and measuring.
superedge88
I would definitely think it would hamper the sub's performance, but I have been wrong once before so.....[H]
CECAA850
It would make a huge difference if you put your mains on the floor with the tweeters closer to ear level. Are those RF-5's or 7's?
RICK VALLEJOS
They are RF 7 's - just waiting to get Dean Gddddddddd
CECAA850
They'd sound sooooo much better out of the cabinet and away from the wall. Give that rear port a little room to breathe. You'd also have your tweeters closer in alignment with your centers tweeter.
RICK VALLEJOS
Only problem is I have a 1 year old running around thats why I was thinking of putting the sub in the cabinet. I take a deep breath everytime she goes by it and to put the RF 7 's down would be difficult. I have RS 7's in the back that are also not placed right. If that's the case then you shouldn't be in a big hurry to rework your crossovers. You most likely won't hear much of a difference in their current location. Once your child grows up and they can safely be brought down you might have them done. I might be tempted to invert the Rf-7's and see how they sound. It might make a big difference. Your tweeters would be lined up then.
RICK VALLEJOS
I never thought of that, I suppose if I can get the sub in the cabinet than I can move the towers down and be ok, I have 3 subs scattered around the room.

Thaddeus Smith
I know it doesnt look like it but there is 6-8 inches between the rear of the speakers and the wall you need like 12-24... and the age of 1 sounds like a perfect time to start indoctrinating the young with respect for audio gear
