Best AVR for Forte I's

Recommended Posts

I have Forte I's for fronts, Academy for center and KG3's for surrounds (no sub yet). my room is 12 x12.

I have narrowed my selection down to the following AVR's (price limitation)

Denon AVR-1910 (~$410 shipped) or the Onyko TX-SR607 (~$399 shipped)

I am unable to listen to either prior to purchase, I have heard that Denon has a better sound with the older klipsch speakers.

Any thoughts would be helpful.

Thanks

I also like Onkyo. I think you should just buy InVeNtOR Onkyo 805................thus helping a Form member out !

I agree with Bill. The 805 is light years better than either the Onkyo 607 or the Denon 1910 and for the same price plus shipping. Keep in mind that the 805 is a beast(tall, deep, heavy) so make sure your stand or cabinet will accomodate.

Here are the specs:

If you mainly use your system for movies I'd suggest Inventor's Onkyo 805 hands down. If you listen to a lot of music, Denon, harman/kardon or Yamaha would be better choices.

I'm happy with my Yamaha for movies and music.

Spend some time on AVS for the receiver you think you might want and you can learn pretty fast if there are problems with it or not!
