Thaddeus Smith
infinite baffle (built into wall). They are pretty sweet ..and if i ever actually own a house I'll probably give them a shot. No hostility Carl ..just deeply seeded jealousy.

TheEAR
A Velodyne HGS-15 is just an average performer these days, nothing special displacement wise. A JL f112 does slightly better and the f112 is just a capable smallish sealed sub.SQ wise the HGS/DD line is clearly superior to most subs ,even today`s good performers. These Emotiva subs(bass modules due to limited LF extension) are great for someone who has a very small room and is not demaning too much(does not know much better). I use TC Sounds LMS Ultra (14 of them) coupled to 15 and 18`s from DIY Cable in sealed cabinets. Displacement over 120L (Xmax), to me all commercial subs bore me. I need something that is capable of insane output below 10Hz and can cause damage above 16Hz. Plus 70KW + of power is not there for show only, ...just sick. I have and had the best commercial subs, dozens of em, once you go DIY(serious heavy weight ,heavy ticket) you never..EVER go back. Listen to a dynamic pipe organ recording, it has to be mighy and cannot strain.Displacement is KING when you reach down very deep.
