turntable problems please help

Might be as simple as needing a new belt, But I am no pro at these things. Heres whats up I will be listing for a while and all of a sudden thinks will speed up and slow down to normal speed. At least I think they are speeding it lets say sounds like chipmunks. Hope this makes since hopefully someone can help. Thanks Nick

There's a number of things it could be. The belt could be indeed slipping, put a twist in it. or dip it in talcum powder, and see if that solves the problem. Also the caps could be worn out and that could cause an increase in speed. The motor may need oiling. Finally, the selector between 33 and 45 could be slipping.

You could try cleaning the belt and pulleys by wiping them with isopropyl alcohol. It will remove any grease or oil and shouldn't harm the rubber.

That may not be the cause of the problem, but it's always good to eliminate the obvious things first.
