Ironsave
So.... does this mean the RF82-83s are in fact discontinued? Any more specifics besides 2 10" woofers? (Still 2 way?)...... Thanks....
Jay481985
I believe it will be the same dimensions and new updated drivers and crossover.
Ironsave
Thanks for thr feedback. Any chance a new 3 way speaker is in the works?
Jay481985
I honestly have no idea. I guess the current three way is the palladium. Remember three way does not always mean better.
Ironsave
I prefer the sound of my Heritage 3 way; but you are correct...... [Y] Was hoping for some lower priced options besides the Palladium.....
runninshine
I have been wanting RF-7s for some time now. Can't wait to see the new line.
TxEvo8
Aren't the RF-7s a three way speaker? It is my understanding that the two 10" woofers are responsible for different wavelengths, thus making them a 3 way speaker. Please correct me if I am wrong. Ironsave
They are 2 way... (Even the OP acknowledges this)......
TxEvo8
So they are considered 2 way because they only have two DIFFERENT sized drivers? Even though the two woofers are responsible for different spectrums of sound? A little more explanation please...
Ironsave
I do not believe the 2 woofers are responsible for different frequencies. You will note in the below specs there is only ONE X-over frequency. FREQUENCY RESPONSE 32Hz-20kHz (+-)3dB POWER HANDLING 250 w max continuous (1000 w peak) SENSITIVITY 102dB @ 2.83 volts/1 meter NOMINAL IMPEDANCE 8 ohms CROSSOVER FREQUENCY 2200Hz TWEETER K-67-DV 1.75" (4.45cm) Titanium dome compression driver HIGH FREQUENCY HORN 8" square 90(o)x60(o) Tractrix® Horn WOOFER Two K-1089-AV 10" (25.4cm) Cerametallic® cone / cast aluminum frame ENCLOSURE MATERIAL MDF ENCLOSURE TYPE Bass reflex via dual rear-firing ports INPUT CONNECTIONS 2 sets of binding post speaker terminals DIMENSIONS Height: 45" (115cm) (br) Width: 11.6" (29.7cm) (br) Depth:16" (41cm) WEIGHT 90 lbs. You may be thinking of the Tapered Array (2.5 way) that's in the RC-7.
