willland
If you want to stay with a neutral/warm sound like your MA-500's but with some more thump you will not go wrong with B&K. Built like Fort Knox, cool running, reliable, loads of current. Here are a couple of suggestions. http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?ampstran&1285255881&/B-K-7250-II- or http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?ampsmult&1287329477&/B-K-TX4430-200x3 with http://www.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/cls.pl?ampstran&1286322068&/B-K-EX-4420-price-futher-reduc No affiliation with either. peshewah
I agree with SuBXeRo. Get the XPA5 or XPA3(I would go with the 5) and have power to spare. And get a 5 year warranty and great customer service. Good luck
USNRET
I am by no means an expert in this combo but I recently went from Denon 4306 feeding three Belles to Denon 4306 feeding Emotive XPA-3 feeding RF-83s/64. The Denon felt a little weak but the XPA-3 woke the 83's up. Listened to two channel today for the first time with this combo, not too shabby. Two thoughts: I like 3 way better and I like my SVS sub lending a hand to the RF-83s.
elitedemo
funny enough ive been considering a xpa2+3 or 3 upa1s and a upa2 for rears or even a mps2, my other marantz was able to push the towers well, but i havent even tried with the 5004 since i sold the amps but im sure the sub will carry more than its share needed to make it still sound tolerable, ive been considering buying some used emo stuff but im really doubting they will sound better than biamped marantz monos i guess i have a fear of the unknown with them as ive never been able to hear emo amps yet, worse case scenario i get a used emo xpa3 test it see if i like it then get a xpa2 and swap the 3 to center and rear duty or just resell if i dislike, i had some klf20s 3 way and i tell you what i couldnt hear any difference going to 2way with 83s, but the 83s definitly scream louder

jamesV
Take a look at Outlaw Audio. I have a 750 hooked up to my RF-83 setup and I'm very happy with it. If you look around you can find used pieces at good prices. James
